Lira makes it 30 feet hugging the wall, and carefully avoiding both vines on the wall itself, and hanging in the area. Then she realizes the giant spider is lurking above, patiently waiting for its prey.
Lev nods to Iiolinder when the cleric agrees to talk with him later. He seems a little distracted, but quickly pulls himself back together as they head into the cache.
Apparently he is still distracted though as they enter (Perception: 6) and as much as he would rather stay at the front he is forced to let others take over. No point in getting himself and possibly others in trouble just because his head isn't in the game.
When Iiolinder gives the information about the spider, Lev adjusts his grip on his glaive. He seems unconcerned--about himself at least, more so than usual. However that doesn't change the fact that some of the others might still be in danger's reach. He grits his teeth as Lira manages to inch her way back to safety, glaive at the ready in case the spider decides to descend during her escape.
Lira's eyes widen as she spots the giant monstrosity lurking above. Forcing herself to stay calm, she tries to recall if she's ever seen or heard of a spider with similar features and markings, even if it was smaller than this one.
A 10 legged armored lobster like arachnid. Sends strands of its web below it to catch victims. As Lira gazes up, she can no longer see it, it has moved or is hidden once again. It moves stealthily and is camouflaged. The predator hunts.
"It seems like it can't hear," Lira states, covering her mouth so her breath doesn't somehow disturb the webs, "Should we go around or try to fight it...?" It would be a relief to get it out of the way so they could explore freely.
Distracted by what he sees in the shadows, Vydar almost makes a serious mistake before Iolinder's warning. He flinches away from the vine he'd almost touched, then looks up. He grimaces, then looks back at his companions.
"Either there's a huge person kneeling over there, or there's a statue on the other side of this room. Whatever it is, It's at the edge of my vision." He glances back up at the spider, noting that it seems to have vanished. "If we can avoid that thing it would be better." Who knows what else they'll have to deal with once they get deeper in.
"Maybe if we try moving across one by one as quietly as we can, I mean it hasn't attacked us yet."
Zarbyn isn't sure if giant spiders behave the same way as regular tiny ones but hopes there is a way to avoid it if at all possible.
Upon hearing Vydar's account of what he sees in the distance, "Let us know if it moves this way, if we're lucky it is a statue and we'll have one less thing to worry about."

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
"It would be better to deal with it now,"Lev says firmly. "We don't know what we will have to face deeper in, and if we come back wounded... it would be better not to have to worry about running into this thing. Especially if we end up needing to make a fast escape."
"I think Lev is right. We should take it out while we're at full strength," Lira murmurs, "One less thing to worry about, and it frees up the vines as an escape route if the door won't open again."

'It was over there!' Iólinder said. He pointed at a spot on the ceiling where he had seen the creature through Zazi's eyes but looking now with his own, he could not spot it against the stone. It must have been an ambush hunter, waiting and lurking in the shadows for prey to pass by. 'It looked like a cross between a pale white spider and a lobster the size of a horse.'
His gaze glanced at the vines next to him. They no longer looked like innocent greenery to Iólinder. 'One of the vines hung from its mouth like a snare. So don't touch any of them.' He hung his small shield on his belt, slowly stepped forward and took his crossbow into his hands. 'Zazi,' Iólinder said softly to the shivering bat on his shoulder. 'Can you see it?'
Moving up a bit so that Lira isn't standing alone and Zazi can have a better look.
(10feet per square Dex roll for Lira, then we’ll wait for some who have not posted today. )
((Lira dex roll: 16))

((Can she roll nature to try to discern what kind of spider it is?))
(Sure thing, but easier if Iolinder Describes it.

Amdaeng waited on the periphery until someone told her to enter, taking up the rear as she did so.
