Iólinder's bolt penetrates the monstrosity, as it is opening its mouth to eat Vydar. With a bit of luck the bolt goes right in the open maw and penetrates internal organs. The creature dies and releases the unconscious Vydar. (Death save or have someone stabilize him with medicine or healing spell). (Combat over)
Zazi sees something on the ledge where the spider was hiding.
Iólinder slung his crossbow across his back and sprinted over to Vydar, his clerical training spurring him on. Positive energy shimmered around his hand as he put it against Vydar's chest. 'That's two for two now?' He smile to cover his worry.
Zazi let go of the creature's carapace. She spotted something up high where the creature was hiding and squeaked happily: the sound of her wings fluttering somewhat marking the spot for everyone else to see.
'What is it, Zazi?' Iólinder looked up from next to Vydar.
Is it kneeling like the one we already discovered near the entrance?

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Seeing that Iólinder is taking care of Vydar, Lira turns her attention to the giant corpse of the beast. They are meant to be looking for Toa-Suo necklaces, and if this creature ate them like they tried to do the dark elf...Ugh, this isn't going to be fun. She will attempt to 'search' the creature.
(To Brian_Avery: No, the body is lying down on the ledge 40 feet up. It likely was pulled up by the creature and eaten up above. From its size, it is likely the body of a Toa-Suo warrior.
The one near Amdaeng was beheaded by a trap she found, which is still armed. Amdaeng finds a necklace on the floor near the head.
Lira: The blood smells like alcohol. The shell exoskeleton could potentially be made into armor or decoration. There are no body parts in the stomach. Like some spiders, it appears to suck blood out of its victims. Its tongue is like a frog, with an abrasive sticky substance on it. It has a sack used to make its sticky vines, which could be used in some creative ways as a sort of glue.
She disarms the wire trap, (common obvious trip wire and finds a hidden pressure plate the warrior stepped on. Trap was a huge blade that crosses at 7 feet.
Vydar starts to hear muffled voices, and his eyes slowly open as the pain in his torso starts to lessen. He tries to move, but feels resistance from some residual strands of webbing. He hear's Iolinder's comment just as his vision returns to focus. Then he actually remembers what happened...well mostly. Well, he doesn't know how close he was to being spider food, but the fact that he'd been taken down by shards of glass was embarrassing enough.
"Oh shut up." He snaps, waving Iolinder's hand away and scowling. Though it may not appear so, the dark elf is grateful for the healing. He's more angry at the fact that he's been practically useless in two fights now...and in both instances he'd be dead if Iolinder hadn't been there.
He tries to sit up, but with the amount of blood he lost the quick motion causes him to become lightheaded. He tries to cover this up by ripping pieces of web off of himself.
Lev watches everyone's actions in silence, briefly eyeing his glaive. His eyes are calculating, and he's likely irritated that lately he seems to be missing his attacks more than hitting, though he doesn't show that irritation beyond his hard expression.
He lets out a shallow breath as Iiolinder helps Vydar regain consciousness, then turns and nods to Lira. Better to make use of their kill rather than to leave it all to rot. Then he moves forward and waits to see if she manages to disarm the traps... readying himself in case he needs to yank her out of the way of some unseen threat or some other unnoticed trap.
Lira grimaces as Vydar tries to sit up and fails, practically feeling the pain radiating off him.
"Maybe a short rest is in order soon. I can cook us up a snack if anyone is hungry."
Chef: Special Food (Special)
As part of a short rest, you can cook special food for 6 creatures. At the end of the short rest, any creature who eats the food and spends one or more Hit Dice to regain hit points regains an extra 1d8 hit points.
Noticing the corpse now unguarded on the spider's ledge above, she will climb up using the vines to check if it has a necklace.
(OOC: It would be easy to climb the vines near the wall and get to the ledge where the body is. The beheaded Toa-Suo was hit by the trap, and beheaded. You have recovered 1/5 necklaces. No one has taken a peak around the corner yet to see what new horror lies ahead.)
(LEV)
So far not noticed by Amdaeng or Lira, who were busy disarming the trap, you note that the beheaded Toa-Suo is wearing something interesting. Their hands are wrapped in a sort of leather/ fur gauntlets that catch your eye.
Using the wall as leverage, Lira can easily climb the vines to the ledge above.
The body has been here for quite some time. As you look it over, you see two large bit marks on its chest, where you assume the creature sucked out all of its fluids. It is a female Toa-Suo warrior, and around its neck is a necklace. It also contains a leather medicine bag, with an unused vial and some herbs inside.
Beyond the beheaded corpse and disarmed trap, the corridor continues 40 feet to the east, then appears to turn to the south. The corridor is huge, 20 feet wide, 20 feet high. The roof is decorated with decorative tiles (you can't see the interior of the mountain. None have searched for traps beyond the body.

William Brackwater: Human Fighter - The Windward Isles
Tyrgram, the Butterfly Knight: Dwarf Warlock - Secret of Greenwold
Iòlinder Corrach: Half Elf War Cleric - Allansia Adventure
Valerius Sergius Publius: Dhampir Paladin - Vae Victus
You see what you assume to be a body above on the ledge.

Lira grimaces but takes the web sack after wiping it off a bit.
"Waste not, want not. Maybe the Toa-Suo can harvest this thing's shell after we clear this place out. Would make some nice armor."
Now that the battle is over, she notices the wires Amdaeng had avoided earlier and moves to disarm them.

Amdaeng examines the necklace she found, does it resemble those the Toa-Suo they met were wearing?
She is a little miffed she didn't get to knee-strike a giant spider-thing but glad everyone is mostly in one piece.
(Yes, it is one of the necklaces they asked to be recovered. )

Lira takes the necklace and medicine bag respectfully, examining the bag's contents to see if she recognizes the herbs and knows their properties.
