"Oh, it felt like a long rest in an instant," Lira explains at Lev's question. She will move further into the bathhouse, staying near the wall as the water unnerves her. She will look around for possible traps or features of interest.
Using arcana, you are fairly sure they are for one who would attack hand to hand (weapon or unarmed, and based on their condition compared to the dead body, magical.)
"There's another necklace over there,"Lira informs the others, pointing at it, "It looks older than the others though. And I don't see a body...It might be in the pool, along with whatever killed them."
The sneaky monk moves in the shadows and retrieves the necklace. It looks old and worn, and the humidity and heat have eroded it further. She notes the door to the south is closed.
Sitting room: Iolinder, Vydar, and Lev suddenly see the doorway slam shut. A click noise confirms a locking mechanism.
Pool room: As Amdaeng is returning with the old necklace, the water on the floor near the door seems to rise gather and rise up from the pool. Almost like a wave, it seems to push the doorway closed between rooms, separating the two groups (Amdaeng, Lira, Zazi, and Zarbyn) (If I missed someone in the pool room, I'll edit).
As the door shuts, those inside the pool room see a strange-looking water creature emerge up from the pool, a 1 foot wide watery "arm" of water slams the door shut. It then resubmerges in the grimy water and disappears from view.
Initiatives: (Everyone can declare actions, I have 3 in the room, 3 locked outside of it. Door is made of thick wood. It has rusty iron hinges, door nob, and lock are one unit.: Could be picked, door destroyed, maybe more creative options?) Lev 23, Zarbyn 22, Iólinder 20
Lira is shocked by the appearance and subsequent disappearance of the water creature. She tries to stealthily move over to the now locked door to the sitting room to see if she can pick it.
Bonus action: cunning action hide and move to door, Stealth 11 -.-
Action: if she reaches the door successfully she will try to lockpick it with her thieves' tools, Sleight of hand nat 1 + 8
Iólinder took a moment to gather his thoughts. Though he knew the lucrative business of adventuring, he figured it would be a lot more monster slaying and less delving into dusty, old tombs. He would never make fun of his old archaeology professor ever again.
The sitting room held little of interest for Iólinder. It felt more like a waiting area for those who wanted to see the sultan, for him to dictate the terms of meeting. Yet another tool within the sultan's arsenal to turn everything into a powerplay, if the grandstanding language from the previous rooms and doors was not enough. Only a single bench seemed functional and Lira quickly inspected it. There was Elvish writing which told the bench would only work for women. Iólinder had a hard time reconciling the idea of the sultan having something nice just for women. Perhaps it was his way of rooting out eunuchs or potential spies? He thought.
In any case the bench seemed to do wonders for Lira when she sat down on it. She looked refreshed, almost the same as before they all ventured into this palace tomb set in the mountainside. Maybe there was something to the magic of the bench. Gods knew he could use some of that right about now, considering the fight with the pale spider-lobster drained him more than he let on. As if she heard it, Lira walked over and touched Iólinder on the upper arm. Like magic the fatigue left his body and Iólinder could feel his energy: physical, mental, and divine restored.
'Thanks.' Was all he could mutter in bewilderment before Lira disappeared into the room adjacent. He was about to follow suit when the door slammed shut in front of him with a loud click. Iólinder pulled and pushed the door to no avail: it was locked firmly.
'Any of you know how to pick a lock?' He asked the two people, Lev and Vydar, remaining as well in the sitting room. 'Else we're going to have to break it down.'
Iólinder will cast Guidance on whoever tries to open the door.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Right after Vydar gives the gloves to Zarbyn with the brief explanation, he will try them on.
"Not sure myself if they're magical or not but after wearing them for a while I'll probably figure it out."
When the water creature slams the door and disappears back into the pool Zarbyn will move closer to the door to stand as a guard while Lira tries to open it.
"I'll keep an eye out for whatever that thing was while you work on the door!"
Zarbyn will ready his action, the trigger will be if the water creature tries to attack them, and the action will be to cast Eldritch Blast at it.
Attack: 18 Damage: 6 force damage.

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
The ledge around the pool is 10 feet. Zarbyn and Lira stand near the door as Lira tries and fails to pick the lock. Amdaeng is about 10 feet away on the north side.
Suddenly, the water swells back up and the creature rises, a sort of arm thrusts forward, wrapping itself around Zarbyn's waist. (Attack 19, damage 8.)> Like the powerful undertow an ocean, it begins pulling Zarbyn toward the water (5 feet) DC save 13 to escape). At the same time Zarbyns spell hits the creature, damaging it for 9 damage as a chunk of its watery form breaks off and is absorbed by the pool beneath it.
Those on the other side of the door hear Lira and Zarbyn shouting.
As soon as he hears the sound of the door shutting Lev rushes over, when he isn't fast enough to keep it from closing he grits his teeth and strikes it with a fist in frustration. How is he supposed to keep an eye on everyone when they are separated?
"Break it down,"Lev says, eyeing the rusty hinges. He might be able to pick the lock, but it was never something he thought he was particularly good at, and he doesn't have the patience for it. Then again, trying to break it down could take just as long.

(Ooc: left toward the side of the door where Lira thought she saw movement, or right, opposite side of the door?)
(Left, and she gives her Long Rest benefits to Iólinder since she didn't need it.)
As Lira touches Iólinder, he gains the full benefit of a long rest.
lira notes three things.
1st, she can’t see into the water
2nd,the door is closed
3rd, she sees a necklace by the side of the pool, in the center north side of the room.
((A Toa-Suo necklace?))
(Ooc yes, but it looks quite old and is a good 20 feet away., on owlbear.)
"There's another necklace over there," Lira informs the others, pointing at it, "It looks older than the others though. And I don't see a body...It might be in the pool, along with whatever killed them."
Amdaeng sneaks across to retrieved the necklace.
