Vydar's stops himself from shrugging at Serethys' response. He really hadn't thought about it that much but regardless his choice seems to have made her and her orc friend pleased with him. When she tells him to keep the statue he almost objects, however he figures that might be seen as rude and instead nods to her. "Thank you." He says, giving the red dragon one last look before tucking it safely into his satchel alongside his spellbook and Natalie's hat. He'll have to look over it more later, her words suggested that it was more than just a decoration.
He crosses his arms again when the painting is brought in. His expression settling back into his usual scowl when he sees it, then that scowl deepens when Serethys provides some backstory on this artist. It's not just the Serpent Queen he has offended, but many others as well.
Vydar's a bit surprised at how mild most of Serethys's punishments are, and while he doesn't say it out loud, he feels like the majority of them would be easily forgotten. He nods to Zarbyn's words. "I agree, she likely wants his humiliation to last and it would be even better if she weren't the only one who'd get to relish in his misery. That said I'm leaning towards the Iron Hand. I believe what artist fear most is losing the ability to use their skills, that alone is good punishment for him. However locking his hand in a gauntlet will not only serve as a reminder to him for simply being there, he'll also likely be questioned about it anytime he attends any social gatherings." Vydar smirks at the thought, "He'll either have to try and avoid the questions or explain what it is. Either way he'll look like a fool since he won't be able to remove it. Not to mention having a gauntlet on his dominant hand will also make everyday tasks more difficult." He nods to himself, "I also think giving The Serpent Queen the key to the gauntlet is a good idea. Then she can determine when to let him loose again, she could even make a public special of it hand force him to apologize to her and anyone else he's offended before doing so. If she chooses to anyway."
He looks to the rest of the group, expecting some kind of input.
Varin nods at Vydars suggestion. "I especially like your suggestion of giving the Serpent Queen the power to remove it. Perhaps he will have to do some sort of restorative justice before she will remove it, or she may never remove it. Either way, I think she would be quiet satisfied with having that power over him directly."
Lev eyes the orc and dark elf, nodding with the others as they discuss their options. "I... also agree with the gauntlet idea. The punishment should be lasting, personal, and visible to the public eye. That way it can't be quickly forgotten, by him or those who see him."
Admittedly, he'd thought he would be much less accepting of anything these people offered in terms of punishment. He'd never really considered himself fond of... this line of work or mingling with people in this line of work. However, he found himself wondering what sort of punishment these people could conjure up for Werik... if they would even dare touching someone of such status. If not for the thought he wouldn't be able to afford it, and the fact such a request may warrant some measure of explanation that could further expose his identity, the idea would have been much more tempting.
Zarbyn agrees with the group, "The Iron Hand does sound like what she wants for all the reasons my friends have said."
Zarbyn asks Serethys' while smiling, "How much doe the Iron Hand cost?"

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Serethys looks at the group doing some math in her head.
"Well the Iron Hand is relatively straight forward, compared to some of the other ideas which could involve multiple people doing things, such as organizing a party for the man and arranging a false lover. We are just looking at materials, a strong enchantment, a couple runes, capturing the man and placing the gauntlet on him, and a key.... "Normally, such a task would cost 500 gold. However,"she looks at Vydar,"I like you and...since you represent my friend, the Serpent Queen, 300 gold."
Vydar: She speak to Vydar in the language of Dark Elves (anyone who speaks elvish may understand it somewhat)
In Dark Elf Language Setherys says to Vydar,“May I know your name, brother? Few of our blood still walk beneath this sun.”
(ooc; if Zarbyn had the bag he pays the 300 gp... that leaves 200 gp to purchase the purfume... if someone else has the bag then he gestures for them to pay.)
"It seems to be a consensus for the Iron Hand."
Zarbyn nods in acceptance and understanding of what they must experience on a daily basis working in such a business but for him it was a first time experience and one he wouldn't soon forget.

After a slight pause to consider how to answer her request, Vydar decides he'd like his fellow dark elf to know his true name. He'd only used a false name at the gate because he didn't want his real name associated with Blacksand. Though if truth be told the place isn't nearly as bad as he'd expected.
"At the gate I signed my name as Nero, however my true name is Vydar."
When Vydar responds, Setherys pauses in mid sentence
In dark elf: "Vydar, the child who escaped the altar.”
She tilts her head, studying him like a rare relic rediscovered.
"Raised by Nera, I think!"
Serethys’s smile turns wistful, almost impressed.
“I knew of her. She danced through blades and darkness where even assassins met their end. They say she laughed at death and stole the Baron’s jeweled key from under his nose.”
Hearing the name Nera, Varin looks at Vydar with newfound interest.
AMDAENG
Nera is a famous thief who walked into Baron Sukumvit’s Deathtrap Dungeon and came out alive.
Vydar’s eyes widen with shock at Serethys’ words. How does she..? His surprise only grows with the mention of Nera.
“How did you know my..?” He catches Amdaeng’s look mid sentence. What does she know about this?!
“How did you know Nera?” His gaze shifts from Amdaeng, to Varin, then back to Serethys. It’s been years since he’s heard anyone speak that name. He never thought he’d hear it again. A knot forms in his gut as memories of that day return to him.
“Nera… now there was a name worth remembering. A famous thief — the one who walked into Baron Sukumvit’s Deathtrap Dungeon and came out alive. She was an idol of mine once. A true celebrity in Fang.
Her voice softens briefly, touched with genuine reverence.
“I dreamed of following in her footsteps, of facing that same gauntlet of traps and blades. But by the time I was of age, the Baron had transformed his spectacle into the Trial of Champions.”
A faint, sharp smile crosses her lips.
“Varin and I both entered… and survived.”
Her gaze drifts for a moment, as though remembering old scars.
“I followed Nera’s exploits for years, but then she vanished — slipped from the stage. Later I heard whispers… that she and her companions were captured by dark elves during a dungeon dive.”
She looks directly at Vydar now, eyes glimmering.
“The story goes she somehow escaped — saving some of her party and emerged with a dark half elf child. The child that escaped being sacrificed at the altar..a child named Vydar.”
(OOC: Unless more interaction between Vydar and Serethys...)
Serethys rises from her seat,
"Good choice. The House of Pain provides a more civilized punishment than murder and assassination. Proper suffering teaches; crude revenge does not."
I has been my pleasure serving you. " She gets up and leaves through a sort of hidden back door behind her.
Varin finishes up the details with you.
(Things such as how Garolon will be captured (knocked out, still awake when they do it, placing the iron hand on him.) Do you want the artist to know that the Serpent Queen has the key. Other creative or important details?
"If you like you can come by tomorrow around 10am to view the device, or we can just begin our plan tomorrow evening."
Varin walks you back to the strange red door in the front of the establishment.
"Not to rush you but we were hoping you could perform the Iron Hand by this evening, or tomorrow morning by the latest?"
Zarbyn looks at Varin to see if he understands the urgency of the Serpent Queen's request.
"The Serpent Queen can be impatient!"
