Ruel took on Levs words and tried to respond as best he can. "I think you are person caught up in something that is bigger than both of us" he paused before going on.
"As for Nicodemus I found him on my journey a journey that took me through Silverton, had me converse with Owen Carralif, who put me on your trail, he told me that winter is coming."
Ruel was brought from his reverie by Halberts words. Look above the roof, not normal, something is afoot. One thing is sure: we cannot keep exchanging pleasantries here, let's move!
"Agreed, now is the time for action," Ruel makes he way to the roof to investigate the anomaly.
Lev’s expression doesn’t change as he prepares to answer Ruel, however he doesn’t manage a response before noticing the snowfall from above the warehouse.
immediately his expression shifts slightly to one of concern and a touch of anger as he says, “*** …Lira!” then begins running towards the warehouse.
From the snow, it’s painfully obvious that either something is up with Lira, or, perhaps even worse, they’d been discovered. Either way, that snow is bound to draw attention so something has to be done. He doesn’t stop even when Twiggy states that Lira is gone. If anything the sprite’s words urge him to move faster, and he pushes back the impulse to simply teleport onto the roof. This… can’t happen! First Paevira, then Morrik, then Iolinder went his own way, and now Lira? He grits his teeth as he searches for a way onto the roof, forcing himself to stay aware of his surroundings and to try not to draw attention. Getting caught won’t do anyone any good either.
Zarbyn will send Twiggy to inform Vydar (and everyone else if there's time?) that they need to sink the ships, there are armaments and explosives on board so blowing it sky high is also an option. Perhaps some of us could sneak aboard to sabotage the ships and sink them that way. We have less than five minutes to act before the deal is done so we can also prepare some short term stuff etc. before we 'kick it off!'
Options and suggestions to fine tune the plan are welcome, or ideas for another plan, and of course we can check with the DM what is allowable with the time we have left.
(Edit) Perhaps we could cause some sort of explosions or other chaos to distract and disrupt them and amid the chaos quickly strike to destroy or sink the ships? (I strongly feel those ships have got to go! lol)
"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."

"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Lev, Ruel and Halbert try scaling the two story building (much more difficult than for Amdaeng and Lira....but we'll assume they make it up)
By the time they get to the rooftop, there is only a lingering cold. A thin layer of frost still clings to the rooftop tiles. The air is noticeably colder here than below. Amdaeng sits, staring blankly at a jagged whip, neatly wrapped in a circle in a circle of melting 1/2 inch ice.
Then Twiggy returns, telling of Zarbyn's concerns. The two ships are being loaded up with armaments and explosives. She tells you there are at least 20 people involved on shore, and more on the ships. Jherek also returns to the area, and knows of a good 5-6 crimson legion. He also tells you of the "leader" that was giving orders, who he suspects is Werik Longfinger. With his bow, he has a good vantage point on those exiting the south side of the building and the two carts.
It seems that ships will be loaded up in about 5 minutes.
LEV
Lev considers what he knows of Werik. He continues to fight an inner battle of seeking revenge for his brothers death. Werik has the blade they need. He guesses that once the ships are done with loading they will have a brief window before the crimson legion and Werik leave the warehouse. Jherak also mentions that the warehouse next door may have been some sort of staging area before the transaction. Yet, Zarbyn is strongly recommending if possible a way to blow up the ships, a task they may or may not be able to accomplish.
(EMAIL WITH SOME PICS SENT) The one that is gone is named Lira (A druid rogue. She was said (by the mayor of Silverton to wear a blue crystal around her neck, similar to those that Shareellas followers wear, her hair half black, half white). Ruel does not know why, but this is a mystery that he should seek to understand.
In addition,Niccodemus told Ruel that the group needed three artifacts to weaken Shareella to the point that they could defeat her. 1) Fire: A relic of warmth against endless winter, the flame pendant: The party has this already. (2) Light: An artifact named Icebane, a fang ripped from a savage beast, that has been bound into a blade that Werik Longfinger carries. (3) Sight: A peak in the icefinger mountains is named Stormy Peak> There, he tells you is an old watchtower, rests a broken stone bell—once loud enough to shake the peaks themselves and summon dragons. If you can ring it, the final artifact will reveal itself.” A mirror of thawing, a relic of great power. Then the items must be bound together, activating their full powers just prior to entering the snow witches lair. In addition, Ruel noticed that Niccodemus was "Ill." He kept yelling at seagulls, both there and not there. Ruel did not understand why and in his rush to find the group, did not take the time to diagnose the wizard.
Werik and Crimson legion are apparently in the spice warehouse right now per Jhereks/ Twiggy's descriptions.

(Sorry I took so long to catch up. Got hit with some things right after my vacation. Hopefully I'll be done dealing with them soon.)
Vydar sits crouched on the roof in shock after helplessly watching Lira disappear into the portal. All he can do is stare across to Amdaeng who is clearly in even more shock than he is. Everything about their current objective now seems like a distant problem as grief and anger overtake him. How many people will he lose while on this quest? Why is it that every time something like this happens he is completely useless.
Suddenly Twiggy appears beside him again, relaying Zarbyn's message. Gritting his teeth everything he's seen regarding the ships floods back to him, these people aren't responsible for Lira's abduction but they could cause trouble elsewhere should they be allowed to leave the harbor carrying all those weopons. Not to mention Longfinger has one of the items needed to take care of Shareella once and for all. For now, he can just hope that Lira will be alright by the time they actually deal with the witch.
He turns his attention away from Amdaeng to face the ships. "Blow it sky high?"He responds to Twiggy. "I can do that, just need a clear shot at the explosives inside." As he says this, he holds a hand up towards one of the ships, preparing to cast Fire Bolt.
(Not sure if combat has started yet but I'll roll initiative. 16)
(I'll give a description of Vydar for our new player once our characters interact!)
Lev clenches his teeth, the all to familiar feeling of failure and loss weighing heavily on his shoulders. Yet now isn't the time to fall prey to those feelings. Steeling himself, he moves to Amdaeng and places a hand on her shoulder, "Its not your fault," he said, the words feeling strange coming from him. He has to pause for a moment, as if reconsidering what he'd just said. Letting out a breath he continued, "Right now the best thing we can do for Lira is get that item from Werik." His voice turns to a growl as he speaks the name of their target. "We defeat Shareela, we rescue Lira." He leaves it unsaid that... well there's no telling whether or not the accursed witch would decide that Lira would make a good sacrifice again.
Giving Amdaeng a firm but hopefully reassuring shake he turns his attention to Vydar and the plan to blow up the ships. "We should prepare to jump Werik when he exits the warehouse. Have we scouted out all possible exits?" He turns as if to move towards where the door facing the docks is located.
The two ships have just begun to ease away from the docks, their hulls creaking as lines are cast off and oars push them slowly toward the rivers current.
As the party on the roof get their bearings and try to get past what just happened to Lira, Vydar sees an opportunity. His hands weave as he releases a bolt of fire at an open box, filled with flammable cannon balls. His bolt flies across the sky, from rooftop to the top of the deck and hits the box. For a moment nothing happens. Then, the impact flashes and the deck erupts.
A sharp explosion bursts outward from the point of contact, immediately followed by a second much larger blast as the fire reaches more ammunition. Flame and smoke surge upward in a dense column, lighting the ship in harsh orange flames. From the rooftop across from the Spice warehouse, the entire night sky lights up in orange and smoke as the blast rocks the area.
The ship, no longer moving forward begins listing to the side and surviving crew mates jump into the waters.
The second ship, that of the female captain reacts immediately. Crew cover and protect their vulnerable cargo and the remaining crew paddle hard to create distance. (They are now 30 feet off shore)
Inside the spice warehouse, there are shouts of surprise as the explosion and smoke knock everyone to the ground in the area (within the warehouse).
Zarbyn finds himself in a very precarious position, near the flaming ship. He must escape the area this round or risk being caught in the flames.
Jherak suspects that the legion members will quickly evacuate the area, likely via the horses and carts. Their opportunity is now or never.
Amdaeng sinks to the rooftop on her knees staring into space.....she failed Lira....
Distraught, she remains there for some time....the mission forgotten.
Twiggys words are heard but don't really register....
“Amdaeng… Amdaeng—where is she? Where’s Lira?”
The answer is already written across Amdaeng’s face. Natalie Storms whip lies on the ground on top of a layer of ice.
Twiggy turns, spinning midair, her wings pulsing rapidly—panic spreading through her.
“No… no, no, no…”
In a blur of light, Twiggy streaks away into the night, weaving between rooftops and alleys, her voice echoing as she finds the others one by one:
“Lira—Shareella!'
A pause. A breath. Then the words fly out of the tiny sprite.
“Lira. She's gone!”
Ruel took on Levs words and tried to respond as best he can. "I think you are person caught up in something that is bigger than both of us" he paused before going on.

Jherak will head to a rooftop across the street from the warehouse, and make ready with his bow.

Zarbyn: Make a stealth roll (Lots of activity on the docks near your location)
Zarbyn hears people on the ship
"I saw it, what looked like snow falling behind the warehouse. But only in that area."
Another voice
"Your drunk Feeble. Your seeing things. They don't get snow in Blacksand! Get back to work."
