Zarbyn looks around the chamber they're in once the fighting is over to make sure none of the fleeing goblins decided to return. He notices the many wounds suffered and spread among the others and feels a little guilty that his wounds were healed by Iolinder's magic.
The human is tall, about 6 foot 3, with very pale skin, blue eyes, black hair, and long fangs, dressed in traveling clothes and wearing leather armor with several dagger sheathes worn strategically about his person. One on his hip, another strapped to the opposite thigh, even the pommel of one sticking out the top of one of his boots etc., about 4 daggers in total.
He walks over to the goblin that had taken something and tried to flee, catching up to Vydar he asks, "Do you have ideas on how to destroy that thing? I mean if it is one of the artifacts we're after then we got lucky getting here when we did."
Looking back at weary dispositions of every one, "We're going to have to rest somewhere for the night before continuing on to cache 3. Should try and secure somewhere inside the pyramid or head back up to Charlie and Ning?"

"There are...ugh, countless goblins and at least one giant below. They overwhelmed us." Lira shakes her head, doubting she could sleep in this place even as blood loss threatens to make her lose consciousness. Glancing at the altar once more, she approaches and reluctantly searches Aldrin, wondering if the goblins took Silver from her. The creatures seemed in a rush to sacrifice them, so much so that they didn't even bother disarming her.
"Ah, could one of you...get Needle out of that one while you're over there? That dagger was...a gift. And, if you see a backpack around...it could be mine. Left it behind earlier."
Zarbyn will retrieve the dagger and weigh it's balance in his hand as he brings it back over to the half-elf they just rescued. He flips it around to hold the blade and offer it pommel first with a grin. Although he acts cordial and polite his fanged smile is somewhat unnerving and sends off vampirish vibes ruining the overall effect.
"Did you happen to see the general area they may of put your backpack?" trying to be useful Zarbyn will search around the altar and nearby for the missing backpack.

"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Lev waves a hand when Lira tells Iolinder to see to him first, “No, her and Vydar first. I can wait.” He says this both out of stubborn protectiveness as well as logic. He received some healing already, Vydar on the other hand looks about ready to keel over and Lira doesn’t look much better.
Lev looks to be around the same age as Lira and Iiolinder (26), though with how weathered he is he could pass as older. His skin is an unusual grey color, and his hair fades from white to silver at the tips. He is likely a black elf, though with the odd skin tone it is hard to tell. He wears dark leathers, and carries an assortment of weapons-his main one being the glaive. He also wears a silver amulet with scales of judgement engraved on it.
He moves to the middle of the group, standing where he can see everyone even if he isn’t immediately helping search the room. Once his wounds have been tended to he’ll help search, but for now he’s prioritizing watching everyone’s backs… if that’s even possible for one man to do. He does however move to help Lira retrieve her items, giving her a not so friendly look that tells her to go see Iolinder for healing before doing anything else. He shoots this look towards Vydar too, eyes narrowing when he sees the dark elf pick up the dagger and search one of the corpses.
Zarbyn easily finds Lira's backpack behind the altar. It is unopened. He notes that it seems the 4 exits are just an exterior wall, yet the fleeing goblins all went into some sort of exit on the south side.
When Lira searches Aldrin (the dead cloaked Kobold that was sacrificed) it is very difficult emotionally. A large portion of her chest cavity is missing. Someone or something removed her heart. The dagger used did necrotic damage. It caused her immense pain.
The once-blue amulet around her neck is grey and dull, lifeless. At her side, the bag she showed you is present, but it is empty. (She did not show you its contents)
You also think of Midira, holding back the goblins and hill giant and her scream as she fell.
There is also a stone chest nearby, and the dead priest has not been searched yet.
"Thank you," Lira takes back Needle gratefully, tucking the dagger into its sheathe as she studies the...human? The fangs make her wonder, but he seems friendly enough. Not that her bar for that is very high in these circumstances.
Her expression grows darker the more she looks at Aldrin, tears finally forcing their way out as she removes the amulet from the kobold and tosses it away weakly. "Damn things..." She reaches to close Aldrin's eyes at least, before sitting down wearily.
Whatever healing she'll get will need to come to her, but she's done trying to do anything before then. Judging by Lev's expression, he wants her to settle down anyway. He seems to be an elf, but...sickly? It doesn't seem to effect his strength though. This is a strange group that has found her, she thinks, but she is hardly one to judge now that she's...whatever the amulet has made her.
Retrieving the backpack and bringing it over to Lira, Zarbyn will notice her amulet matches the other one except it isn't dull.
"How did you come to be here exactly? Why do you wear an amulet that's a near match to that one?" he says as he points out the dull amulet while trying to smile with the over pronounced fangs.

Amdaeng sat down heavily on the steps a little winded, she is a fairly young human, likely from the region of Chiang-Mai some weeks further inland from the coast. She looks slightly out of place with loose fitting clothes under a somewhat newer looking warm coat, she is lean-muscled and has shoulder length straight black hair held back from her face by a leather band.
" I could do with a nap....but I'm worried about leaving the kids out there too long by themselves."
(Lol I’m not sure why I thought Iolinder was older, XD guess it doesn’t matter since everyone…accept maybe Amdaeng? Is older than Vydar. He’s around 21)
Seeing the ebony carving, he quickly shuts the coin purse just as Zarbyn walks over. “Not right now.” He says hurriedly, “I’d need to examine it farther but…not here if this inflicts visions.” He shakes his head, the abrupt motion causing pain to spike through his wounds. “I’ll figure it out later.” He says through gritted teeth.
When Lev volentells him for healing, he glares at the black elf. “I’ll be fine.” He says bluntly, “I have another potion if need be. If you are so intent on healing someone heal her. She needs it the most.” He gestures to Lyra. “I’ll be fine after a rest.”
He glances at Zarbyn as he questions Lyra, the dark elf raises an eyebrow slightly not remembering Zarbyn having fangs before. Maybe he just didn’t notice? The motion of raising an eyebrow reminds him that he is still wearing that ridiculous hat. While he’s amazed (and thankful) that it didn’t fly off on one of their jumps off a cliff, he grabs it off his head in embarrassment. It looked fine on Natalie, but he’s sure it makes him look ridiculous. He carefully puts it back in his satchel with his book.
”I agree with Amdaeng. Let’s head back up. I’m sure the other artifact has been found by now so no point in getting ourselves killed just yet.”
(Let me know if you would like to search anything or any of the bodies, make perception roles if you do so, and then if the party agrees, you could climb up the rope.

In the meantime he's curious about these stone chests, just how long ago were they made? Why were they made and what could each one contain if indeed there were others at the other caches. Well, he was about to find out what was in this particular one.

The chest is empty, and you see where the bag with the statue was resting, as there is an outline of dust around its location.
The chest is made of stone. However, you notice that the bottom of the inside of the chest is made of dark wood, similar in color to the stone. Zarbyn suspects a false bottom. Remembering Natalie Storm's Notes, you suspect it could be trapped, but you are uncertain.
On the dead priest, you see an interesting pair of bracers. They look like dragon scales. He also has a necklace of kobold ears, 10 gold, and a scroll.
Zarbyn will try the bracers on to see if they fit. "This one had a few things which might be useful." He holds up the necklace, hand outstretched to whoever approaches or shows any interest in it. "Vydar, there's also a scroll here you should check out. See what use it can be." His other hand holds the scroll out for Vydar.
"Also, the stone chest looks like it might have a false bottom but if so it could be trapped. Is there anything we can use to check without using our hands or getting too close?"

"I came from Rentarn. I was heading to Silverton for a job." She explains, nodding gratefully as Zarbyn returns her backpack. She doesn't have much, but is glad to have her cook's utensils back. Perhaps she can cook later. "On the way, I came across dead wolves with those collars, and all the goblin tracks. Curiosity got the better of me, so I followed them up the mountain. Found a cave mouth with...that witch Shareella sitting outside, just cooking stew with a giant weasel." It sounds so ridiculous now, knowing what Shareella truly is. "I...tried to steal her amulet. She had some kind of charming aura, I guess. She tricked me into trying it on...Or I tricked myself, more like. We talked, then she disappeared and I was with the kobolds heading into the cave below this pyramid."
"Nice to meet you, Amdaeng. She was...like a sister, for a hour or so, at least. I wonder what she was like without the charm," Lira sighs, shaking her head, "I'm not religious. The best I can do for her is... revenge. Besides, Shareella said she would create a 'new age of ice'...It'll kill everyone not under her control, or at least that's what it sounded like. Trying to remember through the charm's influence is confusing. She made it sound like a paradise somehow."
Getting up, Lira approaches the chest, a little disappointed in herself for not noticing the possible false bottom earlier. Well, they did have a giant and goblins about to burst through the trap door after them. She gets to work with her thieves tools, determined to find what the wretched cult of Myurr were so eager to hide, not to mention prove her worth to the others.

As Lira carefully looks at the bottom of the chest, she notes that it is made of wood, carefully painted to look like stone. She also sees a trap, a sort of string attacked to something underneath. She carefully cuts the string, and after some thought, feels like she has disarmed the trap.
Lifting the false bottom, she finds a strange key and a note. The key is made of bone, and has the skull of a venomous snake. The note reveals the location of a secret entrance inside Port Blacksand where the cult of the dragon king assembles. The string was attached to a vial of acid, that when opened without disarming, will release the acid into the bottom, thereby destroying the note and organic key.
