(The bandit on the roof that Amdaeng is climbing makes a perception check to hear/ see you as you climb up: Dc 15: (13)
Amdaeng is able to climb 8 feet, almost at the top of the building.
His attention still on the fight in the center, he moves across the building and tries to jump to the next one. Unfortunately for him, he slips on the wet roof and falls to the ground, taking some damage from fall (5). (Dex: 6).
The Bandit that Iólinder warned, turns to run and is hit by a crossbow bolt to the back (7 damage) (coward), he runs to the back of the building and starts to climb down.
Cleaver Bandit turns and dashes toward the docks.
You see another Bandit, (Yep, one of the drunk men from the bar), run toward the docks as well.)
Back to the top of the order. All remaining bandits are fleeing the scene.
Joining the fight a little late, Vydar doesn't even have the chance to point out the bandit on the roof before Lev restrains him in a choke hold. Irritated that he's done absolutely useful nothing thus far he rushes into the midst of the fight as soon as he can. (40ft movement, heading towards Y)
He smirks, raising a hand towards the fleeing bandits. Three glowing narrow streams of energy dart from his palm each chasing it's own target. "You picked this fight! Don't think you can get away unscathed!"
(Oop I thought there were only three left. I'll hit The cleaver guy and two of the ones running, whichever ones look the most punchable would be the ones Vydar would go after lol.)
Cleaver thug falls face first in the mud with the first missile. He moves no more
fake map guy takes 7 (still up and running)
we have guy on the roof with Lev in a grapple, crossbow bolt in his back, we have guy who fell off roof but only Amdaeng is aware of him at bar, We have fake map guy running toward docks. We have have big dead half orc thug.
(OOC: Oh, I didn't realize they'd run before it was my turn lol.)
"Your boss?" Lev says unsympathetically. "Who's your boss?" He presses the poll harder against the man's throat. "And why did he have you attack an innocent woman?"
Lev notes the man wears nasty fishing apron, no armor, has a fish pairing knife and crossbow.
”boss is…was Ruberk, but the lady and you killed em.”
”Rub said people would come out like fish biting on a hook and come to the dock!”
—->action for Paevira and Yursor. Yursor swings his huge spoon in the air, “I keep telling em not to hire criminals and delinquents. You all skat and if I sees you again, I’ll boil you alive.!”
Paevira will ignore the drunk and turn her attention back to “ Ruberk”… She will search him for stuff and then rub his blood all over his face, place the backside of the fake map over it and carefully make a print of his ugly mug, like a Japanese fish printing. She wants more information on this guy and who he works for. He is too careless to be a real boss.
"Tch," Lev makes an irritated sound and he shoves the man towards the edge of the roof. "I despise people like you. Change your ways, or go drown yourself in the sea."
He very nearly shoves the moron off the roof, but stops when Paevira says to empty out his pockets. Lev looks at the thug with disgust, "I doubt he has anything on him." He removes the haft of the glaive from the man's neck, gripping him firmly by the back of his shirt collar instead to keep him near the edge of the roof. "Empty your pockets, and throw whatever you have down there." He jostles the man forward as if to push him over the edge, just for good measure. "Then I'll let you go."
Part of him still wants to push the guy off the roof, but he'll at least let him think he's going to get out of it for now.
Arcane energy fading from his hand, Vydar watches the rest of the thugs retreat. Half of him wants to go after them and make them pay farther for their crimes. People like that are scum that should be purged from existence. However, the rest of him knows it's really not worth it, somehow that kind of scum always seems to grow back. Especially in a place like this. Maybe this little skirmish will make them rethink their lives, but it probably wont. Those idiots only seemed to have enough brains to know when to run.
Crossing his arms, he turns to see Paevira wiping blood on the dead man's face and smashing the map onto it. This catches him off guard. For such a clean, dainty looking thing, she seems to have a morbid side. He stands there watching her and Lev for a moment. If he'd been alone, he probably would have looted these guy's as well. Though at the moment he doesn't feel the need...or want, to touch any of these greasy people.
Amdaeng leaped down and looked around, part of her was morbidly fascinated by the dead bodies.....she hadn't seen many up close before- and those she had had been addicts who had indulged too much. No one had died in bouts she had watched or participated in....she was glad she hadn't had to kill anyone.
She turned away from Paeviras actions with a slight shudder though she understood the anger....
" So? Bedtime?", she called out. " I got two rooms."
The scared bandit gives you a coin pouch. The ink from the map runs onto his face, creating a sort of semi-permanent tattoo, showing the route from the bar to the dock across his face, nose, and cheek.
Inside his pouch: 10 coppers, 2 silver pieces. He still has the bolt in his back, a true sign of a coward. “That’s alls I’ve got, I’m sorry I got involved. Bss said it’d be worth it and we get some change off the tourists. Didn’t know it would be just one.”
The guy that fell off the room near Amdaeng, a broken arm and bruised runs off. Any others slink back into the shadows. It is a quiet night once more
The huge half-orc appears to have the same type of clothing as the others. He wears an apron, covered in fish guts. He is likely a processor (a person who guts and filets the fish once they come in. A thug looking to earn a bit more coin. Searching him, you find a very sharp filet knife, 5 silver, 10 copper, 1 gold. (In hindsight, this was your classic curiosity killed-the-cat move. Lure people with the promise of a great treasure, sit in ambush, but it went south. You assume they wanted to ambush whoever came to the edge of the docks but Paevira probably spotted them early)
(OOC: You can do some interacting if you like or we can move forward, and any other prep (spells, etc.)
You work out sleeping arrangements. The adrenaline of the failed mugging wearing off and again, you realize you are quite tired from your long journey of many days.
In the morning, you are refreshed and excited about what the day will bring. After hearing so much about Natalie Storm and finding others here also interested in meeting her, you are optimistic for what the day will bring. Yursor has made a delicious breakfast of fresh Biscuits and gravy, with meat and vegetarian options. Coffee and Tea are provided as well. He also has some homemade smoked salmon and sardines. Again, his food is surprisingly delicious. It may be the best Biscuits and gravy you've ever had.
Elaina apologizes for the ruffians near the dock but is thankful you are all unscathed. "I hope your journey is safe, and your search fruitful."
You set off together to the meeting place. It is perhaps an hour's walk from town, a historical landmark, a bridge called the Salmon Bridge. It is fairly early in the morning (meeting at 9am) and the road is quiet and peaceful. Unlike the prior evening, the sun has come out and it is a pretty summer day (up in this part of Allansia, the temps get to the mid 70 degrees) As you move slightly away from the coastline, you note that you are beginning to climb a bit in elevation as you move closer to the mountain range.
You reach the famed covered bridge, its weathered wooden beams and shingled roof showing the marks of time. The bridge, draped with ivy and moss, arches gracefully over a river that runs west toward the coast. Its ice-cold runoff from the mountains still flowing at a good rate toward the sea. The impressive bridge is perhaps 50 feet across. Then you realize why the bridge is so named. Jumping out of the water are large pink fish. Salmon. They seem intent on swimming upstream. (OOC: most of the trees and shrubs in this pic are not present)

Paevira wakes up at the crack of dawn to run a quick errand and change into more appropriate adventure clothes. She gets back in time for breakfast with everyone dressed in well used olive green leather armor with a burgundy undershirt. She has on her baldric with rapier on one side and a short sword on the other, her hair loose and wavy. She holds up the faux map, which has a remarkable likeness of the 1/2 orc in red. She announces, “ this should make finding more about Ruberk the turd a bit easier, don’t ya think?”
She seems quite proud of the quality of the print. “ Thank you all again for the kind and timely intervention last night, those scoundrels needed a lesson in manners, and it seems we all work quite well together. I am excited to see what today brings “ she will then reimburse everyone fir the cost of the lodging.
