Vydar seems a bit more smug than usual... likely due to the fact that he's now gone two battles without nearly dying. He waves off any offers of healing, the bitemarks from the weasel were deep, but not to serious... in his opinion anyway. He doesn't really pay much attention to the talk of gods, as he is not religious and as he's mentioned before, doesn't care much for them. If no one else takes it, Vydar will take another alchemist's fire. None of the other items interest him. As the others interrogate the Kobold, he watches the cave entrance. Clearly he wants to just get moving, though he does know they should come up with some sort of plan since there are known enemies within it.
(group gets a short rest as you all clean knowledge from your experience with the Toa-Suo, goblin warband, and additional travel and experience. Lira finds the way of the druid is naturally occurring to her, while Morric seems to be taking an interest in his powerful new bow. Each of you is stronger and more capable than you were what seems like so long ago in the small port of Rentarn. (?What do you do with the kobold, and would you like to ask him anything else?)
Some of the group has gathered outside of the cache entrance. Glancing at Storms Journal.

This cache was secured in an abandoned dwarven outpost used for treating ore that was being prepared for use in weapon and armor smithing. During their mining, veins of gold and silver may have been found here. My sources implied that the place had been overrun by something terrible and immortal, causing the dwarves to leave it centuries ago.
Looking at the entrance, the dwarves cut into the mountainside. Two double doors seem have been forced open long ago as snow fall rises above the broken doors on all sides. Kobold footprints go in, but you see none coming out yet. Getting a bit closer but trying to be quiet, you see a stone hallway leading back into the mountain. On the outside, Morric again sees signs of the dwarves who also built the bridge you crossed earlier.
Morric will look over and admire the workmanship of the dwarves. He will check on goblin eater to make sure it doesn’t see any goblins with 60’ and will resheath it if nothing shows, letting the blade rest. He will dawn the shield and draw his flail for better use in tighter spaces and will mention the fact he will need to light a torch in the dark mine.
Zarbyn looks at the entrance and thinks about what the kobold has told them already. "So that means we can expect there to be some female spellcasters and probably a bunch of kobolds. Should we try to sneak in behind them and catch them unawares?"

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
Hearing no answer Amdaeng releases the kobold, " If you wait here for us we can take you with to somewhere safe, or you can run off by yourself into the wilderness......up to you."
She waits for the kobold to decide then heads off towards Zarbyn, " Into the dark? Yes, please."
"Maybe. It seemed like they were just in it for the money, which is strange...Why not control them with her collars like she did the other male kobolds in her ranks?"Lira sighs and shakes her head, letting Snowball slip into her pack. "I'll scout ahead with Twiggy." She moves to enter the structure, feeling a new kinship to the land as she sneaks.
The entrance doorways are ajar, either age, abandon, and the forces of weather eroding the entranceway, or perhaps, something else was used to force the stout doorway open. Peeking in, a dark unlit hallway goes forward into the darkness. (10feet wide, it goes into the darkness about 60 feet, then Vydar notes it turning to the right.) Passive perception reveals: It seems to be warmer within than the current temperature outside (cold, snowy, cloudy day, 30 degrees). Lira notes a strange intermittent bubbling sound.
(When ready, marching order and feel free to enter/ perceptions, torches if needed for the humans, etc.)
As soon as Lira enters, she notices a small string with little bells attacked to it going across at shin level from one wall to the other. (A trap that triggers noise designed to warn others).
Just ahead, she notes a large bear trap, covered in dirt and grime to disguise it.
So also notices that the temperature inside the entrance is at least 10 degrees warmer than outside, and wonders what the heat source would be in this place.
She is able to easily disable the first string bell trap and, could in fact keep it for future use. The bear trap is also moved out of the way without issue. The hallway goes forward 60 feet, then turns to the right. She hears a sort of bubbling noise (not very close),it seems sort of rhythmic, and a sort of gravel/ rubbing deep noise. (Nature roll, advantage)
Morric will light himself a torch unless someone has a better method of lighting and will let the group decide where in line he should be, maybe near the front after the sneaky folks
Zarbyn stays back since he has a 100 foot telepathic range with Twiggy and sends her along with Lira and whoever else is trying to be sneaky.
Twiggy's Stealth: 19
Twiggy's Perception: 7
(ooc: in 2024 it only takes a bonus action each round to maintain the shared senses feature and Zarbyn is no longer blind and deaf while doing so.)
"A few traps, bell wire and beartrap, probably left to slow down and/or warn of our arrival/pursuit."

As the sneaker pair peers around the corner, Lira is able to distinguish a noise that was covered up by the other ambient noises of the area. The passage turns 90 degrees and a wall with several small holes in it (1foot opening) at what she guesses is dwarves eye level is in front of you, with the passage again turning 90 degrees to begin heading back. (A murder hole)
Amdaeng pointed Ning over toward Lira to say hi to Snowball.
" Ok, is that all we need from our friend here?", she nodded down to the kobold.

The kobold nods in thanks and heads toward the bridge.
"At times mercy can feel foolish. We may pay for letting that one go, but striking him down would make us no better than those we fight."
