Brynlee sees Aric and Vira both facing two enemies at once, she decides to help Aric, as he is more injured. Taking aim, she fires a burst of lightning towards the one he just kicked (23 to hit for 2 lightning damage), but it remains standing.
The two slimes in front of Aric swing at him again, but are distracted by Brynlee's magic and both miss. The smaller slime by Vira misses as well, but the large slime strikes out with its pseudopod (16 to hit for 5 acid damage). As it strikes her, the strange slimy limb quickly envelops her arms, grappling her close to its body and restraining her arms.

As Vira struggles free from the slime's grip, B'Reh and Aric together take out one of the sticky slimes in front of the jerbeen before he follows up with two more kicks at the other one beside him.

Responding to B'Reh's call, Kenna shouts back, "I'm okay but I can't move! Please be careful with the big one, I need to study it for my research!"

Turning her head slightly, she calls out to Kenna, her tone urgent yet uncertain. "Kenna, are you saying we shouldn’t destroy it entirely? Its remains should be enough for your research, shouldn’t they? We can’t leave it as it is—it’s attacking us and will do worse if it’s not stopped!" Her gaze flickers back to the fight, clearly prioritizing the group's survival but eager to understand Kenna’s intentions fully.
Action: cast Toll the Dead DC 13 @GreenSlime for 5 necrotic damage.
Vira's swing connects with both slimes before her once more, and she's familiar enough now with the stickiness of the smaller slime to prepare herself for the jerk of pulling her weapon free from its body.

"Ugh, I know it's attacking! But this is important! Can you at least hit it with some fire first before killing it completely?" Kenna calls from where she is stuck against the wall. Hearing this, Brynlee quickly switches gears and lets a burst of flame fly towards the large multicolored slime (19 to hit for 3 fire damage).
As the burst meets the slime's body, something strange happens. The shifting colors across its body suddenly flare a bright crimson, and then stay that way. The flames seem to damage the slime, but it's unclear what other effects they've had. "Now that is interesting! See? It's important research!"
Recoiling slightly from the fire, its body remaining the same crimson shade of red, the large slime seems to lose some of its interest in Vira, moving instead towards the source of the flames that just wracked its body. It swipes at Brynlee (23 to hit), connecting and leaving a small streak of burning acid on her upper arm (4 points of acid damage) before grabbing her the same way it grabbed Vira only moments before (Brynlee is grappled and restrained). While this is happening, the smaller slime by Vira is still standing and swipes stubbornly at her once more, but finds no purchase as the strig swiftly dodges the strike.
B'Reh raises her voice firmly, though not unkindly, "Kenna, your research is important, I understand, but our safety must come first. Your uncle tasked us with returning you to Winnowing Reach in one piece—not delivering you back with a dissertation on slimes!" She steps closer to Brynlee's side, keeping an eye on the crimson slime's movements, and reaches out to try and assist in freeing her. "We can't let it hold you—who knows what it might do next!" she adds.
Action: help Brynlee to break free from the grapple.

Vira swings her axe once more, catching the smaller slime and finally dispatching it once and for all. However, with the large crimson slime's new location next to Brynlee, she's unable to catch both with a single swing.

"Hold on, Aric!" she calls out, bracing her feet and grabbing onto his arm. She shoves with all her might, determined to free him from the slime's grip. "You won't stay stuck for long—let's get you out of this mess!"
Action: shove Aric 5 feet backwards to break the grapple (DC 12). Athletics check if needed in the spoiler.

Kenna looks as though she would collapse to the ground in disappointment if she wasn't firmly stuck to the wall in a tacky blue and purple slime residue.
