Well that went a lot better than when we fought the big goblin. This bugbear was nothing but muscles for brains. Lets loot everything.
Brand rinses his flail in the water and then begins to search the Klarg's corpse and then the entire part of the cave that Klarg was located. Brand opens every crate and barrel and takes everything that is useful and valuable and searches for Klarg's treasure.
There are piles of sacks and several crates. Most are marked with the image of a blue lion— which Sildar tells you is the symbol of the Lionshield Coster, a merchant company with a warehouse and trading post in Phandalin.
Hidden among the supplies is an unlocked treasure chest, assumedly belonging to Klarg. It contains 600 copper pieces, 110 silver pieces, two potions of healing, and a jade statuette of a frog with tiny golden orbs for eyes ( worth 40 gold pieces when sold). The frog statuette is small enough to fit in a pocket or pouch.
The captured stores however, are bulky, and will need a wagon to transport them. Lionshield Coster in may well be pleased to see them returned...
Brand divides the silvers and coppers evenly and gives 27 silvers and 200 coppets to Theqen, Ollanius and Lucius. Brand adds the shortsword and javelin to his backpack to sell later with the other goblin weapons they picked up.
"Who wants to carry the Frog Statuette? I'm happy to carry it until we sell it and all the other goblin weapons in town and divide the profits amongst us."
Brand turns to Ollanius and holds out the Greatclub.
"I think this would suit you best as a fighter instead of the short sword and scimitar you currently use"
After giving the club and statuette to Ollanius for safekeeping. Brand leaves the cave, gets the oxen wagon and brings it as far into the cave as possible and then returns to the group.
A few trips back and forth and cart is loaded with the recovered provisions and the...pelts. You start off at first light
You strike out back toward the route you were originally diverted from, emerging a bit beyond the dead horses. The nearest town is Phandalin and the journey takes you through to the afternoon.
The rutted track emerges from a wooded hillside, and you catch your first glimpse of Phandalin. The town consists of forty or fifty simple log buildings, some built on old fieldstone foundations. More old ruins—crumbling stone walls covered in ivy and briars—surround the newer houses and shops, showing how this must have been a much larger town in centuries past. Most of the newer buildings are set on the sides of the cart track, which widens into a muddy main street of sorts as it climbs toward a ruined manor house on a hillside at the east side of town.
As you approach, you see children playing on the town green and townsfolk tending to chores or running errands at shops. Many people look up as you approach, but all return to their business as you go by.
Sildar seems much more at ease.
My friends, he says, let us secure lodgings. I’m told the local inn is very quaint.
Let's go find the Lionshield Coster and return their goods, there may be a a good reward in it for us. I'd also feel better with your presence on the way back to the inn after collecting the reward incase any unsavory types decide to try their luck. I'd also like to get rid of all the goblin weapons, etc and then share the coin amongst us so that we can do our own shopping if need be. Then we can get the inn booked. It'll be nice to get a warm meal and a soft bed for the night. With your negotiation skills Lucius and theqen, i'm sure it'll be at a price a priest can afford. How about it? Any objections or other ideas?
Sildar leads you to the Lionshield Coster building and then heads off to make some enquiries about his missing wizard friend, Iarno Albrek.
Hanging above the front door of this modest trading post is a sign shaped like a wooden shield with a blue lion painted on it. You head inside and see a thirty five year old human woman behind the counter, growing over a ledger
Brand walks up towards the woman with his hands clasped in front of him. Brand smiles in greeting but the smile doesn't touch his eyes.
Greetings and Salutations my good woman. I am sorry to have disturbed you while you are quite busy with that ledger. Would you be so kind as to show my companions and I to the Master of the Lionshield Coster? We don't have an appointment but I assure you that they will want to meet with us.
Brand spreads his arms, makes the sign of the Sun God and says
Ah what luck, after a long journey it's nice to have things move along quickly and smoothly. Would you mind stepping outside with us? We have something to show you. I suspect it might ease some of the lines forming on your forehead that that ledger may be causing you.
Brand folds his arms behind his back, turns around and walks towards the door.

The goblin never saw it coming. The spiked ball collides with his head and knocks him off to the side on a crumpled, dead pile

The goblin has another rust-ridden shortsword and Klarg has a standard javelin.

"Let's start loading up the wagon then everyone"
“and I’ll gratefully give it a few swings Brand”
I still haven’t lost my hankering for a Wolf pelt though thinks Ol as he takes a sharpened blade to the still warm Ripper.

“That Klarg would make a good trophy. Plus if we need to explain any of this property to anyone his pelt can do the explaining for us.”

Ollanius deftly skins both Klarg and Ripper
Brand and the others load up the wagon with all the crates.
"Shall we make a move to the nearest town/village and resupply and then head to the Goblin King in Cragmaw Castle in the woods to the north?"
Yep let’s get going.

Brand, I’ll be glad to have this property offloaded and returned to its rightful owner.
Ol looks at the others
Keep your eyes open for a Blacksmith.
Oh and if someone can find where the Tanner is I’ll be muchly appreciated.
Ol looks down at his more grizzly trophies.

”I am the master of this trading post. Consider yourself met. I am indeed busy, what do you need?”
