You can probably get away with loading the bodies and cauldron onto one of the two boats, and sliding them across the ice following the coast. It will be hard work but doable
Danon helps to load and push as well. Now that the danger is passed, he seems more relaxed, putting his energy into their efforts is relaxing to him. If they get stuck at all, he can use his elementalism to help move things along, thaw any stubborn snow or ice needed. He will be glad to get the cauldron back to town as it will help to feed many people…
That helps further. You are able to bring both the cauldron, and the bodies back to the town. Captain Arlaggath meets you and is saddened by the deaths, but makes arrangements for the bodies to be made more presentable before getting the families to come and say their goodbyes and arrange burials. She is also eager to hear your full account of what went on in your search.
"I would guess your fellow citizens may have unwittingly wandered into a cave occupied by a hag, perhaps seaking respute from the cold. We have dispatched of this evil, she will no longer be plaguing these lands" Cirim shares, as solemnly as possible.
"It happened exactly as Lady Cirim has admirably summed up, Captain Arlaggath," Etriel Darastrix confirms. "It may be worth adding that the cave must have had a baleful influence for a long time, judging from the paintings we could see on the walls" (she shows the drawings that reproduce them) "and the remains of giants who must have succumbed to the baleful influence. So perhaps it was also some dark witchcraft that attracted the fishers".
"The hag we defeated, however," the foreign traveler continues "also possessed a magical cauldron, whose properties could be very useful to the community here in Easthaven. It is the cauldron that we brought back with the poor remains of the deceased - and that you have surely already noticed."
The eladrin huntress goes on to explain how it can be used for food, then concludes: "...And we will be happy to leave it, as a token of friendship, as a gift to Easthaven. And since friendship flows both ways - or true friendship it is not - Easthaven could perhaps in return give Good Mead a favorable price in some trade agreements... so that both parties benefit, some with free meals, some with favorable agreements." And, of course, if necessary, she goes into detail about any agreements, based on what Easthaven and Good Mead usually import or export... She is not trying to cheat Easthaven, but only, in effect, to gain some small trade advantage that is comparable to the free meals that Easthaven will be able to enjoy thanks to the magical object.
Danon stands with arms crossed at attention behind Etriel tells the story and makes the explanation, trying to avoid (but not succeeding) the flexing of his muscles subtly below his cloak, he tightens the tension in his muscles with resistance to keep his body tuned and ready at any moment when called upon.
"That is very kind. But not something I have any authority over, so I will talk to Speaker Waylen. In the meantime, feel free to bring it to the Townhall as I am sure he will want to talk to you imminently. In addition, for you help, we recovered a couple of items from that mage before burning them. You may pick one of them to keep yourselves. We have a spell scroll of fireball, and a gray bag of tricks."
"It will be a pleasure to confer with Speaker Waylen, Honorable Captain Arlaggath." Etriel Darastrix bows her head respectfully.
The foreign traveler then consults with her fellow adventurers: "Fireball is a powerful spell, but once you read it from the scroll, that's it - the scroll becomes non-magical. I would advise choosing the other item... It could be useful, even if only when we need to form a line of creatures to temporarily block an enemy. What do you think, my invaluable fellow travelers?"
"Sounds okay to me. Though spells scrolls are single use for most people, a wizard such as myself can copy them into our spell books and use them a lot more than once." Neldak agrees with Cirim and Etriel on the choice. He'll follow the others to the town speaker.
“I agree with the bag, that seems like the better choice to me.. although I don’t know about such matters.” Danon offers his opinion with confidence, but really without knowledge.
You take the bag (and can discuss who wants to add it to their inventory here or in OOC) and then go to meet with the speaker (image in spoiler) who after congratulating you on your new role is grateful for you offer. "For an item as useful as this, I would have offered a generous sum to buy it off you. So if you are seeking a trade deal, I am happy to oblige. Would you like to discuss the terms of the deal now, or would you rather discuss another time? Having not met you before I do not know your trade and economic knowledge so I don't want to shortchange you if you feel like you could do with an economic advisor"
Etriel Darastrix bows her head in respect: "Your words do you credit, Speaker Waylen. In fact, I was willing to try to negotiate myself, not having an 'economic advisor' with me, but given your kindness, I thank you and I agree on a subsequent meeting, during which someone more experienced than I in the issues of trade can assist me" and agrees on the first available date that can work for both of them. Once back in Good Mead, she will then involve the most suitable people.
Regarding the magic bag, the foreign traveler admits: "It is an object that I believe could be valuable, but I, usually, combining steel and magic, need all my attention and focus ... Perhaps someone else feels more capable of summoning allies on the field when necessary?"
The eladrin huntress is ready to assign the bag to the first one who thinks he can use it profitably ... If no one wants the bag, then she will keep it.
Danon looks curious, looking it over, inside it. “Sure, I’ve never seen such a thing. If you wish me to carry it, I’d be glad to!” He stands proudly, with his shoulder rocked back and gladly takes the bag with interest if offered.
[[ OOC: OK, so... The bag has been awarded, Easthaven has been befriended... If nothing else happens to keep us here, I suppose we'll return to Good Mead, to send the 'trade experts' to work out the details of the favorable deal we've won. And we adventurers can then proceed to the other of the two nearby towns. ]]

*Sounds like a good idea to Neldak. Though how whole are these bodies?
Etriel Darastrix is also fine with that.

Etriel's 'guided' Persuasion, if needed: 15
Oh, well, great. Let's hope it's not needed!
Neldak winces a little when Etriel calls the cauldron a gift, but doesn't say anything.
