"Why not do both?" Taxidea offers. "Maybe retrieving this staff is exactly the task she wants us to do. I mean, Tiefling-dude you just saw it your head and it kicked your ass. I'm just saying we should at least find out what she wants from us. Agreeing to her terms at least gives us more options than sitting in this void. And I'm never opposed to mischief."

Jason takes in everything, and ponders. He isn't noted for his strong abilities that require a lot of thinking. While he hasn't been in as bad a battles as some of the other veterans, he has had his share of head injuries, and it's only by Divine Blessings, he thinks, that he's still alive. He listens, and tries to put all the pieces together, to the best of his abilities. He doesn't know any of these people, so, as a solider, he's wary of working with them, let alone, trusting them. Before the betrayal of his hometown and its outpost, he was one of the troops that didn't see a need for adventurers, feeling that the soldiers and guards should be all the kingdoms need. Now, learning the corruption, being an adventurer is his only option to bring Vengeance against the traitors, and rescue those trafficked.
"I...agree with the Halfing. Unless someone else has the power to send us back, free from this void..? Likewise, getting chances to use my Smites is always fun!"

On one hand she is a Paladin herself and respects other Paladins for their conviction. On the other hand, she is a bit wary of their adherence to oaths. Jasmine herself is Oathless and intends to be.

Our goals of freeing trafficked beings coincides, so...I will do what I must, and ally with whom the fates bring to me, to obtain justice. So long as no one prevents me from rescuing those taken from us, I have no quarrel with them. If this will help me get stronger, so that I can seek my Vengeance, then so be it."
Jasmine nod. "That I am. I am a Malison to be specific. I feel our abilities would be quite similar though my powers are my own. I have no pact nor do I plan to take any oaths. However I am devoted to helping those who may need it. Once the current issue with the Priesstesss is solved, I may wish to join you in your quest to free those kidnapped from your town and to bring due jussstice to the traffickers."

"It sounds like the quest has been accepted. I'm sorry to have done this in this way, but it was important. You'll see." As you look around, probably trying to locate exactly where the voice is coming from, the air starts shimmering. By the door, is a beautiful woman. It's the priestess. And while she wasn't ugly before, not in any way, now she truly looks like a goddess. Her hair is now filled with little braids, her face is pale, glowing, her eyes a piercing navy. Her dress also changed. She wears now a sleeveless red dress with a short train. Around the edges is a thin gold trim. "My name is Awyeth. ( Ay - With ) Goddess of good health, kindness, and really anything that doesn't involve harming anyone. Most of what just happened to you won't make any sense, but I assure you. It will all prove useful later on in your quest. I need you to find a temple to Shigh, goddess of time and trickery. She has played horrible 'prank' on me, and has stolen my staff. She has given it to her high priest, who is using it to bring chaos to the world. I fear if it is not found and retrieved soon, they will use it to start wars such as have never been seen before." The goddess waves her hand, and a 3D image of a building appears in the air. It is triangular, and tall as a skyscraper. As far as you can tell, it has no entrance or anything protruding at all. Just sleek black walls. "I'm sorry, I do not know how to get in when you find it, but there must be a way. the easiest way to find it will be to travel due south east from where I drop you off. I'm sorry I can not bring you any closer, but I have to give the tower large berth. I'm sorry, you must have a hundred questions, but I can only keep this structure safe for a short time, and I can't go back to your world without my staff. Good luck." And with that, the entire tavern starts falling apart, and you all fall asleep. When you wake up, you are in a forest, spread all around in a roughly 100 foot radius. There is no path in sight. After a minute, the birds start chirping again, and the leaves start rustling from little critters. High above, you here the iconic call of a bloodraven, easily recognisable from the way it starts at a glass shattering pitch, and drops down rapidly, almost lower than can be heard.
Jason gets up, confused, not recalling how he got there, or even falling asleep. He does see the Malison.
"So, it not dream. Forgive if Jason not recall details. I'm also just a simple solider, so not familiar with all type of beings in world...Depends on what happens next, but allies are always welcome."
He looks around at the other members of this grouping, unsure of what to do next.
"I met a man of some respect. I cannot recall specifics, but he would be in the company of...a hamster. Since I'm not sure what's next: You Vex? I Hex! Shield blocks, spear shocks!"

Taxidea sits up and looks around. “Not dead yet.” he says giving Remis a thumbs up.“I can do stuff too, but just to be clear, next time things get hairy all you big guys can stand in front of me. Don’t leave the hafling to do the heavy lifting, OK?”

Armeros stirred from unconsciousness and pushed himself up, his golden eyes scanning the area around him. His jaw clenched slightly as he replayed Awyeth's words. He had to admit, as much as it irritated him to be manipulated into a quest like this, the challenge intrigued him.
"I am unharmed. It appears we all are. After all, we have a job to do," he mused, gesturing with partially feigned enthusiasm, "A temple with no entrance. A staff wielded by a high priest. And all on behalf of a goddess, no less. Thrilling times are ahead for sure."
-not exactly sure what you're trying to do with that survival rolls- Jasmine could not hear any signs of a lie while the goddess was speaking, nor could armeros. Awyeth is indeed the goddess of pretty much all things good. She has a large following, but she doesn't care for temples, and her followers tend to not proclaim their religion. A lot of hermits are followers of Awyeth. Awyeeth is fairrly well known, so feel free to ask for any details.
"Told you she could hold it forever." Xondario sits up and grabs his hammer. "A puzzling manner in which to ask us to do her bidding. Goddess of good and all that trapping us against our will and threaten death or do as I say. Kind of makes you wonder of she is the good goddess or the chaos one... For all we know, we are the chaos gods means of stealing the good ones staff. Best get some answers along the way because there are sure alot of questions." He gets to his feet and starts to check his stuff is ready for travel.
