As Taxidea makes his request of the road, everyone sits perfectly still, watching to see hat happens. Nobody even noticed at first, but indeed. The part of the road a little ways off, that had turned west when the party arived, was now going directly southeast. Horsch whispers in shock. "Well I'll be darned. It actually listened!"
Taxidea stands up, looks down the road and then looks at Horsch and starts to laugh. "You mean to tell me that you've been following this road for HOW long? And nobody thought to ask the road to go somewhere?! How is that possible? Oh man! I'm sorry but that is hi-LAR-ious!" He squats back down and pats the road. "Thanks friend. You're a good road after all. Who's a good road? You're a good road! Never thought to ask you...hahahahaha...unbelievable."
He looks at the rest of the party. "Well? Whatcha' all think? Shall we continue down my new friend, The Road?"

Armeros shook his head in quiet admiration, then stepped forward, the gleam of a song forming in his mind. Pulling out his viol, he started a celebratory melody, something unusual for him.
"The road was wild, the path unclear,

But Badger knew, with wisdom true,

"Since you people have been following this road for so long, and it seems my ally here has just solved your mystery, maybe we can have some additional guidance from your people? Maybe some guides, who can let us know more about this land, and other questions we may have, as we travel. The road can always lead the rest of you back to those who help us."

Taxidea nods approvingly at Armero and takes a little bow. "Thanks Armero! You know I just started thinking, that the purpose of a road is to take you someplace, so a road that doesn't go someplace is not really serving its purpose. But then I thought, well maybe the road is trying. Maybe the reason it keeps shifting is because it's trying to take travelers someplace, but nobody is telling it where they're want to go,so it just keeps moving hoping to hit the random right place that someone is trying to get to." He goes over, squats down and pats the road again. "And I know what it's like to be overlooked and have people ignore what you want."

Jasmine is surprised that the road listened and shifted. She wonders, "Fascinating. I wonder if this road is sentient... Could it be part of some larger extra-planar creature?"
Armeros nodded thoughtfully as Taxidea spoke, appreciating the halfling’s insight. "Ah, Badger, you are not alone in that feeling," he said, his voice low and smooth. "It is indeed wretched, that sensation of being overlooked, your talents and intentions dismissed."
He looked over at where the road had shifted, before his gaze moved to Jasmine as she spoke. "Jasmine, you may be onto something there. I must admit, the idea crossed my mind as well." He paused before continuing in a whisper. "I did worry, for a brief moment, that this path might be feeding off us, draining our life force as we walked upon it for its own sustenance. But thankfully, it seems benevolent."

I'm not sure i feel comfortable with making that decision." {Yes, the poll is for me to know only. We are waiting on one person, and then we can continue. until then, we'll need to roleplay lol.
Priscilla now returns with the other elders. "I trust you enjoyed your meal?" Upon someone inevitably telling her about the road, wether it be a character or someone else, she is clearly surprised.
Armeros leaned back slightly, his tail flicking lazily behind him as he crossed his arms. "Ah, Priscilla," he said smoothly, his voice laced with amusement. "I am shocked someone as wise and kind yourself, not to mention the other elders, have never thought of asking the road what it wanted."
His golden eyes sparkled as he added, "Or perhaps...you thought it best for your people to keep following it aimlessly?" There was a playful edge to his words, but beneath the surface, he was genuinely curious.
"But to answer your question," he continued, his tone shifting to one of pleasant politeness, "the meal was truly excellent. I haven’t enjoyed something so hearty in quite some time."

Jasmine speaks up, "I still think we should try to find some kind of large town or city instead of going straight to the tower. Maybe we can get to the tower and then go in search of a city from there so we can find our way back. I very much do not like the idea of blindly following the instructions of our goddess without doing some of our own research first."
Taxidea groans. "You guys and your research. Let's just go to the tower, kick the ass of whoever's there, take the staff and go home.
