But he did see there was a trainer that hopefully coukd show them a thing or two, but Xondario wasn't going to take there word about who this man was. Xondario knew from in his days in the street, respect is earned and not assumed so he wanted to see how this "dangerous" man would react to being challenged. But life on the farm had soften him? At least in terms of having to be the baddest one in town. So instead of pressing Graph now, he will try to take his shots while training. "Yeah, here's to working together and all that."
Jasmine's eyes narrow at the mention of time flowing differently. She was suspecting that this place was not the material plane and that suspicion was growing stronger with each hour. Jasmine cleared her throat and addressed Josif.
"There is still one question you have not answered and I would greatly appreciate it if you could tell me something about it. This place, the moving road, Vestorvile... where are we exactly? Where is this village located and what exactly is this place? Who are you really? I do not mean any offense but you seem to have a far greater mastery over temporal magics than to be expected from the average mayor of a relatively unknown town in the middle of a forest."
"It's not a void and we're not dead yet," Taxidea says raising his glass. "So here's to blowing shit up and burning shit down - and a less-than-fond farewell anyone who gets in our way."

Josif closes his eyes for a moment, as if debating on his answer. "I'll admit, I don't know very much about the road other than the fact that it will sometimes take you where you want. Vestorville however, I can help with seeing as how I founded the place. It stated out just me and the family that adopted me at a young age. Overtime however, as I discovered and grew my magical abilities, I started doing things to make it a safer place for us to live. Slowly, more families came to live with us, seeking refuge from the turmoil of war outside. And so Vestorville was created. Admittedly I don't remember how I chose the name, but yeah. That's all. We are simply a village trying to protect our children, for the most part. Now of course, the war is over, but nobody really wanted to go back to where they came from. As for a little more about me, I'm afraid I really don't have much to say. I'm simply an old fool well trained in the art of magic, and I try my best to use it for the good of others."
Armeros tries to remember if he has ever heard of a Vestorville or Josif Heirbloom before. He doesn't know why he would have, but it can't hurt to try.

You must realise, Vestorville wasn't always a happy safe place. It started out as a refuge. And my magic didn't do all the work. We still had to fight for our childrens safety. Now, I'm one of the few that knows our story. Even our oldest grandmother doesn't knowhow Vestorville came to be." As he talks, he is looking straight at Armeros, but it is clear he doesn't see him. He is lost in the past, remembering the horrors he must have witnessed. You get the idea that he is far older than he looks. Far older.
Jasmine clears her throat again to get Josif's attention once more. "I see... can you tell me a bit more about the surrounding place? Which country are we in? And how is it that time here flows differently than the outside world and how is it that Vestorvile has remained hidden for so long?" She then gets straight to the point, "Are we even on the material plane at all or are we somewhere else entirely?"
"Would you be able to tell us if there's been any information on other monsters or creatures in the vicinity of the tower. We came across 3 fire elementals. You've mentioned others in the past, and if there were fire, or other powerful creatures of note, you must have heard something. Perhaps you...saw signs from the recent fire elementals attacks? Would you, or Graph, be able to provide any insights or training, to help us dispose of such adversaries?"
"Short answer, yes we are on the material plane. I didn't say so because not everyone would even know what what mean. As for the time difference, that is more of my magic. Regarding thee surrounding lands, I believe we are in Ragnor. Couldn't say who is currently ruling, or what the status is. About how we stay hidden, that actually wasn't my doing. It was a gift from an elven queen. You could say she made a deal with the road, and now the only way to get here is to ask the road to bring you. I can not say why he showed you the way when you did not specify exactly where you wanted to go, but I take that as another sign that i should help you on your journey. On the topic of creatures surrounding the tower, Ii can help you but little. Most likely anything you encounter was sent or created by Shigh. She changes which creatures she has guarding the tower monthly, so I don't have any current intel on what you may encounter. I can however say that if you came across fire elementals, you'll probably find more." - I should clarify, I'm not meaning for Josif to not answer questions, there's just so many to answer that I forget some, or the post just gets too long. Pretty much, try not to take it as a sign that he's trying to hide stuff.

Armeros watches Josif and Graph leave, his golden eyes narrowing slightly as the door closes behind them. He leans back in his chair, fingers steepled as his tail flicks idly beneath the table. After a moment of silence, he speaks, his voice smooth and contemplative.
“Well, I must admit, our host is...interesting. What do you all make of him and his offer?” His gaze shifts from one member of the party to the next, his expression thoughtful but laced with suspicion. “I only wonder what he hopes to get out of helping us. There is always a price, one way or another."
"Well I would say he doesn't want to go through this effort over and over again, though I have my doubts on what they will be able to train us in a little while. Honestly I have never had an formal training so who knows. Though I find it rather strange that he mentioned the roads... uses, despite those who traveled the road did not. Plus he mentioned of those who made it here despite not knowing about it. Like he's seen this play out over and over yet suprised it can happen at all." Xondario thinks a bit more, "I find myself believing what he says but I'm more wary of what we hear then hopeful about it."

Jasmine says, "I'm Inclined to agree with Taxidea here. I do not feel that our host is lying or has secret harmful motives but even if they do... I doubt we have much other choice than to take them up on their training offer. We cannot go out and help those that need our help without giving the so called goddess of good her staff and we cannot get the staff if we are too weak to face off against the elementals that guard it. So that means we need to get stronger and this may be the quickest way to do that. Though I am curious... I get the feeling that this particular kind of training is going to be more than standard soldier training. I have a feeling that there is going to be a very real risk to our lives involved here. Even so... I think we need to take the offer regardless."
Throughout dinner, Jasmine had not been eating too much. Her main course, a large steak, still remained on her plate. It had cooled down significantly. Now it was clear why. She opened very wide, as if she unhinged her jaw for it. She placed the entire steak in her mouth and swallowed it whole. She very much still has snake-like traits. The head and the scales are not just for show.
Having come to terms with the realization that he's going to be here for awhile, Flynt adds, "Could use a bit of target practice. Always room for improvement."
Okay, so there won't really be any 'events' during you'r stay, so unless there is anything anyone wants to do over the next month, or something they want to try an get, we'll prettty much just skip it and I'll send a long post probably tomorrow describing what happened during your stay.
((Sure, that sounds fine. We can say Armeros was training one day and suddenly his new equipment appeared in fire. It's still common though. He's super stoked and a bit more openly religious now since he thinks Asmodeus noticed him.
Edit: Also he will try to earn some money by playing his viol in town whenever they aren't training, perhaps together with the other Butterfly Death Swarm members. He'd like to acquire some half-plate armor if possible.))
