"Ailments? well, large cut on the leg with a dab of some unidentified poison. And than there was also some sort of club to the head. He'll be up in time for tomorrow, but you will need to find a temporary teammate. I don't have the supplies to counteract the poison that quickly."
"Temporary teammate? I'd sooner hunt down whoever did this. They must have an antidote." Sirin can't hide her animosity towards the culprits, likely one of the other teams.
Sirin, do you want to run down to the apothecary and see if they have any antitoxin in stock? I am willing to contribute my remaining 28gp towards purchasing it. Provide him our team name and show him the crest if he requires more and I will make good on our debt at a later time.
"Of course." Sirin nods resolutely. "Ah, but we should try not to walk around alone or a similar attack might happen. Not that I'm worried, but...Danami, care to join me?"
Sirin will attempt to talk them into lowering the price since their friend was attacked and time is of the essence. She would rather not use all of Torgar's funds if possible, and can contribute her remaining 42 gp.
The owner, a kindly looking human with neatly trimmed facial hair leans forward, making sure none of the other customers hear what he says. "Okay, I'll admit, I know what it feels like when you lose a teammate. The challenge is suddenly twice as hard. So, because I sympathise with you, I'll bring the price down to 44 gold pieces."
"Ah, many thanks." Sirin gives an appreciative nod, handing over all of her gp and 2 of Torgar's. She takes the antitoxin gratefully and hurries back to the infirmary.
Torgar, seeing Danami and Sirin hurrying back into the infirmary room, stands up from sitting by Kershin's beside. How was your venture, were you able to procure the antitoxin? We have but little time remaining if we are to make it to the event on time and I do not fancy our position if we arrive a man short, I know we will need Keshin to grasp victory today.
As Sirin hands him his gold back (-2 pieces) and the antitoxin. Torgar looks meaningfully at her. It is my responsibility as team leader to bear the burden of my mistakes. I should not have sent Keshin out alone and the reparations should be mine as well. I appreciate a supportive and caring team however and will not dishonor your actions. I will however share in your generosity. (Torgar hands Sirin half his remaining gold, 13gp) Looking at the doctor Torgar hands him the antitoxin. Will this do to restore Keshin back to fighting health? We need him at 100% today.
Then to Keshin: We still have much to discuss, please tell us what you saw and what happened while the good doctor tends to your wounds.
Sirin takes the gold from Torgar reluctantly, but nods. "I...understand. We are all in this together, so we should share the burden and glory. Thank you." It's somewhat of a relief not to be entirely broke; she can't really ask her family for assistance in this endeavor, as they didn't approve of it...or rather, she never asked them.
She then turns her attention to Keshin as well, resisting her urge to barrage him with questions and just trying to be a supportive presence.
A messenger runs in, out of breath. "Team Gilmyer? Golly, I've looked all over for ya. The opening ceremony begins in just under 20 minutes. Make sure to look presentable! Oh, and here's a letter for you." letter:
Esteemed Contenders of Team Gilmyer,
Your first formal appearance in this tournament is of utmost importance. Today, you shall present yourselves as a united team in front of the judges, the crowd, and your fellow competitors. How you carry yourselves will set the tone for the challenges ahead.
Take care to wear your tunics with pride and polish every blade, every piece of armor. Remember that you represent not only yourselves but also my sponsorship, which I do not grant lightly. Make your presence known but remain dignified. You will be introduced as a team, but each of you may choose to say a few words. You could select one among you to speak on your behalf, should you decide to name a team leader today.
Though you’ll be presenting yourselves as equals, do not let the expectations of others faze you. The teams you face have their own strengths and weaknesses, and in time you will know them well. Focus today on leaving a lasting impression.
Should you need my guidance, I am watching. Stand with pride.
"Torgar, I am not one to say much. However, I believe someone has our groups badge marked. We should be extra careful at how much we allow the other opposing teams to know. They could use what's said to hurt us."
"Torgar, I am not one to say much. However, I believe someone has our groups badge marked. We should be extra careful at how much we allow the other opposing teams to know. They could use what's said to hurt us."
Agreed. We will present ourselves but there is no need to provide any additional information that is not explicitly asked for. We can instead speak of honor, dignity, respect, loyalty. Those qualities that are becoming of a knight.
Very well. Let us go to the ceremony to be officially announced as a team. I will do my best to represent our group while not giving away any of our abilities or secrets.
We will hear Keshin’s tale afterwards.
OOC - Is Keshin released from the hospital and with us?
Yeah. Keshin is released. There is still a bandage on the thigh, under the clothes. The head is un-bandaged.
The Presentation takes place in the tournament grounds’ main square. At the centre is a raised platform flanked by banners in bold, vibrant colours—each representing a competing team. A crowd has gathered, cheering and waving as the teams arrive. At one end of the stage sits a panel of judges: seasoned knights and local nobility The air is electric with excitement. The tournament announcer—a booming, charismatic figure named Sir. Carthen Brant—kicks off the event with a rousing welcome to the crowd and an overview of what the tournament represents: valour, skill, and the potential for knighthood. On by one, the other teams step up and are introduced. While some seem to be more popular than others, the spectators are riled up and more than a little drunk, cheering enthusiastically for everyone. Before you know it, you here the announcer call your team name. "And last but certainly not least, ladies and gentlemen. Esteemed judges and welcomed visitors. I present Team Gilmyer!" You walk out to loud applause from the stands, and careful stares from the judges. Everyone has the chance to say some words, but the team leader always starts off. Please describe like how you present yourselves, (i.e. Confident, shy, humble, strong, you get the point.) and at the end of your speech or whatever, please make a persuasion/performance check, whichever you want. Or if you think a deception would make more sense, that's fine.

Danami follows Sirin and Torgar loosely. Slightly comforted that at least they are a whole team, again.
"Glad you are out of harm's way, my friend."

The apothecary, a small family run shop is selling general use antitoxin for 74 GP.

The doctor takes the antitoxin and promptly gets to work applying it.
"This should get him up in time for the endurance test for sure."

If that is your wish, I shall accommodate you.
"Yes, feel free to speak for me as well. I tend to get a bit...theatrical when speaking in front of an audience." Sirin remarks.
