After one hour of keeping watch, Kessintra hears clawing on the church's doors. Amelia, you are aware of everything, but if you leave trance you'll have to restart the 4 hours.

You find a window in one of the side rooms. You can see five wolves clawing at the doors. One more stands behind the rest, slightly larger, with red eyes.

Kessintra frowns when she spots the beasts, not exactly surprised after seeing all the marks on Ireena's home and the church as well. Unable to resist this chance to get the drop on the creatures, she silently targets the larger one and looses an arrow at it.
Action: Longbow on leader to hit 23, damage 5 + 9 sneak attack
As it hits, she will let loose the sorrow of the souls that cling to her, their piercing necrotic shrieks hitting the next closest wolf.
Bonus action: Wails of the Grave on next closest wolf for 4 necrotic damage (I'm unsure how loud this is supposed to be, but it might also wake the others.)
(Immediately after you deal your Sneak Attack damage to a creature on your turn, you can target a second creature that you can see within 30 feet of the first creature. Roll half the number of Sneak Attack dice for your level (round up), and the second creature takes necrotic damage equal to the roll’s total, as wails of the dead sound around them for a moment).
The arrow strikes true, but the leader seems unbothered. The arrow falls to the ground, not even drawing blood. The other wolf, however, winces, but still claws at the door.

Kessintra hisses a curse in Undercommon, glancing down at her bow for a moment as if wondering if it is malfunctioning somehow. That big wolf is going to be a problem if it gets in. She hurries into the main chamber, aiming another arrow towards the doors as she yells for the others to get up.
"Get up! Wolves at the door! One of them is arrow-proof, so we're going to need more than me!"
Persuasion 17 (to express the seriousness of the situation if needed)
"Arrow-proof wolves?" asks Chipper as he gets up from slumber. He readies himself, component pouch at his side and eyes the door with the scratching. "Thick hide? Or something else?" he asks Kessintra.
[[ If there's enough time from the warning, Chipper would cast web at the door to slow down and ensnare the wolves as they came in. ]]
Initiative: 5+3 = 8
[[ Are there any items around that could be improvised slings? ]]
"I'm not sure. My arrow hit it and just...fell. The thing didn't even seem to notice." Kessintra sighs, stowing her bow and reaching for her flask of holy water instead. She'll position herself next to Ismirk and Ireena.
Trust me, holy water in Barovia never goes to waste.
You can't recall any wolf with immunity to arrows. In fact, you can't recall a natural beast with immunity to arrows.
You hear quiet growls and snarls from behind the door, and a boom erupts as the doors swing open. The five wolves seem ready to charge in, but the leader seems calm and stays put. Garrick's turn.

You guys can roll initiative as well.
I exist sometimes, especially when I'm DMing Curse of Strahd.
Kessintra initiative: 21
Garrick 22.
Btw did we long rest? I switched out my infusions already but if we didn’t long rest then I need to change it back (can only do it after a long rest)
You guys can short rest for the one hour, but unfortunately not long rest.
I exist sometimes, especially when I'm DMing Curse of Strahd.
Thanks. Switching infusions back
Zan initiative roll 14
Amelia’s Initiative: 10
Guidance: 4
Since Kessintra had given a warning, I think there was enough time for Amelia to cast Guidance.

This is a signature. It was a simple signature. But it has been upgraded.
Belolonandalogalo, Sunny | Draíocht, Kholias | Eggo Lass, 100 Dungeons
Talorin Tebedi, Vecna: Eve | Cherry, Stormwreck | Chipper, Strahd
We Are Modron
Get rickrolled here. Awesome music here. Track 48, 5/23/25, Immaculate Mary
There are small bits of rope and wood lying around, but not much else.
Initiative: Amelia, big wolf, Garrick, Kessintra, Zan, Ireena, Wolves, Ismirk, Chipper

"Then this creature must be something unnatural... hmm,"
Amelia murmured, narrowing her eyes as she tried to recall what kind of monstrous wolf this could be.
Nature / Arcana: 8
Action: Amelia takes a Ready Action. Wait till all the wolves make Dex save against Chipper’s Web spell, then cast
Faerie Fire on them.
She also hands her holy water to Kessintra as a free action. I’m glad my 25 gp didn’t go to waste.

Have any of them hit the webs or faerie fire yet?
