Prior to settling down for the rest of the night Ian cast animal friendship on both pups using a level two spell.10 for the wisdom save for the pups

To Tyrus:  “I don’t know why they attacked us.  Maybe the goblins in the area have pushed them to the roads.  Maybe the mother was sick from carrying the dead pup inside her.  Or maybe we looked like an easy target.  I will keep a close eye on them.  If they grow as big as their mother, they will be tough to defeat.”

The spell was successful on the pups.  They trust you like a mother at this point.  This will need to be an ongoing process to maintain the relationship with them.  Travel to Neverwinter is again on schedule.  You will have the option of making camp about 3 hours outside of the city or to continue to travel once the sun has gone down arriving after most have gone to bed.

"We are in no rush, why not set up camp once more? Who knows, maybe we'll find another two dire wolves to keep. I can take first watch," Tyrus says.

As you all are setting up your camp for the night, further down the road you see and hear a caravan of sorts coming your way.  There are at least seven wagons and ten people on horseback plus many walkers.  They are making no effort to be quiet. On the contrary, they seem to be a traveling party.

Ian grabs the pups and moves off to the woods with his bow to observe the group from a distance.

"Thagakh is planning to go to the Star Mountains but first will take a detour to Neverwinter to stock up supplies for the long journey. Thagakh will also look for good cooks and healers for his upcoming business but those things can wait.

When sir knight said Plague and Primordial explosion, Thagakh does not know what that is since Thagakh mostly spent his time inside forests and caves near Phandalin for his previous job. Could sir knight tell me more about this explosion?"

“Gladly.... first off I am Sir Randall of Neverwinter.  We are a settlement party on our way to Phandalin.  If you wish to parlay long we should make camp.  The quick of your questions are based on Regional history.  The Spellplague is somewhat of a mystery.  What we know for sure is that about 20 years ago,  a disturbance in the arcane caused most of those with high levels of magic to either die or transform drastically.  

As for the primordial exploration, about 10 years ago a battle at the legendary dwarvin city of Gauntlgrym released a primordial.  The monster blew part of the mountain that it resided in off sending a huge force at the city of Neverwinter.  Half of the city was destroyed along with many of the residents.”
