The heat of the kitchen embraces you with its warm arms as you open the doors. The smell of soup reminds you of how lifeless this place is, how the smell of dusty stone and oppressive grey walls entraps any outside life, as opposed to the white, polished room with a relatively clean floor. You find the kobold once again, pacing around the kitchen. He jumps when you enter the kitchen, but relaxes a bit once he sees you. There is a door to the right of the room, left cracked open.
Finnian smiles at the Kobold “Hello again we’re just passing by you wouldn’t happen to know where that door leads to would you?” Pointing at the half open door.
"Uhh, sorry, no, but, uh, two guys usually go down there, down the hall, I mean. They usually bring stuff down there but I, err, try to ignore them so, I don't know what they bring down the hall, exactly, sorry," The kobold says, words trampling atop one another in a vast stampeed rushing out of his snout.
"They don't really make conversation, they just argue about whether the human king could beat the other kings in a fight, which knight is the strongest," the kobold goes on, his voice fading to the ears of Vaelin and Yutari as they go down the hall. Across from the door, Is another locked door, but there is a door at the end of the hall, withought lock, with a rustier, more wore down handle.
The room is pitch black, with the hallway only gaining light from the kitchen's torches. This could very well be due to the dark, but the room gives you a bad feeling.
"Well let's not be too hasty. A dark room with no lock wouldn't be ideal to put prisoners...Let's try the other door." Yutari goes back to the other door and presses her ear against it to try and listen to the room.

“Have they gone down there recently anything of interest they may have said?”
"Then let's check it out." Yutari heads for the door, peering down the hallway.
Vaelin follows close behind.

“Oh well thanks anyway” Finnian then goes to catch up with the others.
"No lock, but doesn't hurt to look." She goes for the door at the end of the hall, opening the door a crack so she can peer into the room.

Roughly how dark is it? Is it like completely pitch black or is there some light?
It indeed pitch black.
Finnian will need help then navigating

I understand if you need to take some time off, and I hope the injury gets better.

Can I get a perception check?
Perception: 11
You hear nothing behind the locked door.
"Vaelin? Can you give this door a try?"
