The fierce hobgoblin shrugs the frost off like it's a cool breeze. Aka'ula is up next.

*** Question; Did Aka'ula retreat into his shell pre-initiative?

If he did he'll use his bonus action to come out of his shell, otherwise I'm sticking with what I said and he will use his action to withdraw into his shell.

Aka'ula claws at the slow hobgoblin, who is quick enough to block the blow with his shield.

The stout hobgoblin will attack Durbun with his sword. (Attack: 17 Damage: 7) Durbun is hurt badly but is still standing!

The knave draws a knife on the fierce hobgoblin, regarding the deceased drunkard "Hey, that guy owed me money!" (Attack: 8 Damage: 4) His stab is utterly ineffective against the fierce hobgoblin's armor however.

The wastrel panics, trying to find the back exit of the tavern in order to escape.

Durbun, bloodied, draws an axe from behind the bar and swings at the stout hobgoblin: "I'll teach ya to make a mess o' me tavern!" (Attack: 12 Damage: 11) His axe locks blades with the stout hobgoblin's longsword.

It is now Kalman's turn.

Alright Aka'ula will use his bonus action to re-emerge from his shell and move toward the nearest Hobgoblin making a slashing attack with his claws.

To hit -> 20
Damage -> 4 Slashing damage!

Ooc: how long until one of us hits them. 

It's late here and I  need to sign off until tomorrow.  Kalman is going to shoot at the nearest hobgoblin on his initiative then move to maximize range inside this tavern.

Attack: 13 Damage: 6

Kalman fires a bolt that nicks a hobgoblin's ear but doesn't do any lasting damage.

Jakob, you're up next.

Jakob smirks at the closest hobgoblin and charges at him.

Bonus Action: Active Rite of the Flame (reduce Max HP to 13.)

Action: Attack: 15 Damage: 7 and 3 fire damage from the Rite

Jakob rushes the slow hobgoblin in a fiery charge, cleaving it in two!

(It is Medskan's turn next, followed by Balin's.)

"Impressive."

Medskan silently approaches the nearest Hobgoblin and swings his longsword

then shifts position so he is between the hobgoblins and the patrons if possible

Balin again tries to smash a hobgoblin.

Attack: 24 Damage: 7

Medskan blocks a blow aimed at one of the remaining patrons!

With a leap, Balin smashes the tall hobgoblin's head in!

The fierce hobgoblin takes a lit bitumen torch and throws it at the alcohol shelf behind the bar, which catches fire! He tosses another one at the card table in the back corner of the tavern, which also catches fire!

(Mikhael and Aka'ula are up next.)

Aka'ula is going to strike at the same hobgoblin twice in quick succession.

 /e Aka'ula just doesn't feel like hurting these hobgoblins guys.

Mikhael is going to cast frostbite at the fierce hobgoblin. 

The hobgoblin must make a DC 13 CON save or take 6 cold damage.

"Let's see how well you move with your fingers about to snap off!" The sorcerer snarls, hand raised... Then he notices the fire and his eyes go wide. "Oh hell's bells. Hurry and finish this! If you can't fight, go grab a water bucket or do something else to douse the flames! Before this whole place burns down!" 

OOC: Could my ray of frost or Medskan's ice breath extinguish the flames? I have Ice spells... and that's about it. Anyone else have anything capable of stopping a bunch of rapidly combusting alcohol/wood? 

With his bonus action, Mikhael going to draw one of his athames/daggers.  Ceremonial they may be, but they're still wickedly sharp.   

Aka'ula's claws rip into the stout hobgoblin, who is torn apart!

Mikhael casts frostbite on the fierce hobgoblin, who... (17) Resists the frostbite, but is also distracted.

The knave takes this opportunity to put a knife to the distracted fierce hobgoblin's back... (Attack: 4 Damage: 7) Ending the fight!

The surviving tavern patrons set about creating a bucket brigade to douse the flames; Medskan puts out the fire at the bar with his frost breath while Mikhael applies several castings of frostbite to the card table in back. Things are almost back to normal when a clearly wounded city watch arrives. "What happened here?" asks the captain, "We've heard reports all over town of simultaneous assaults by hobgoblin marauders, and", pointing to his wounds, "encountered some ourselves."

Mikhael is starting to get annoyed. "Are these guy's ice-proof or some shit?"

Kalman sneers as he walks over to recover his crossbow bolt, "No, we got surprised and flustered.  We just need to aim better."  Looking towards the Captain, Kalman offers, "I still have lots of fight in me.  Any part of town need reinforcements asap?"
