Between Athos and Twinkle, Devil B is now dead.

Devil A has a new target of Gimmond. He debates going for Athos too but with Gimmond positioning himself the way he is, there is no clear shot.

The beard skims past Gimmond (19 to hit), and then the glaive goes massively wild (Nat 1)

Athos swings back around to face Devil A.  "One down, one to go."  And swings his longsword for a 10 to hit, missing terribly as he refocuses on Devil A.

"Oooh~ Talk about a close shave! Speaking of, looks like you could use one!" Gimmond declared as switched from defensive posturing towards bringing the warpick to bear in an upward stroke meant to decapitate the devil, if not catch it well enough in the neck to leave it struggling to breath. 

Ac: One-Handed Warpick vs Bearded Devil (AC 13) - To Hit: 13(+4 from Bless making it 17) For: 6 Piercing Damage.

Sap. If you hit a creature with a War Pick, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.

Twinkle rushes forward, but stumbles over a piece of debris on the arena floor. She manages to stop at a 15 foot distance, two of her strikes sending thunderous shockwaves past the devil. She tries acting like this was on purpose, but everyone knows (Performance: 3).

Zumfir casts sacred flame on Devil A, DC14 DEX save or take 2 RADIANT damage

Every attack (including sacred flame) that had damage dealt damage. Those assumed misses did miss.

The devil then tries to attack Gimmond twice, currently more angry with him than Zumfir. Beard (with dis from sap) misses (12 would have hit with a 23 without sap). The glaive hits (24 to hit) for 13 slashing damage and a DC12 con save needed (details in spoiler for space saving)

 They are bloodied currently.

Athos keeps swinging at the devil, "Back to the abyss with you!"  He gets a 17 (14 +3 from bless) to hit, if that hits he'll add a divine smite.  7 slashing damage from the potential hit with 7 radiant from the smite.

That hits. And the next hit can kill it (AC13, 7hp remaining)

In spite of having warded off the barbed beard the force of the impact left Gimmond too off-balance to catch the follow-up stroke of the glaive! Pure grit and dwarven helped him endure the sting of corruption as he caught his breath, but even divine providence could only do so much in correcting a poorly angled retaliatory swing of the warpick.

Zumfir casts guiding bolt: 

hit: 13, dmg 14

And that does it. The crowd erupt in a big cheer as you leave the arena, all 200gp richer and feeling stronger than before (level up)

Athos waves to the crowd as they exit.  "You were right about the beards." He says to Gimmond with a wide eyed look when they get inside.  As he levels up, Athos gets a bit more charismatic and goes to the shop with his winnings looking to purchase a +1 Longsword.

"How much more do you need for that amulet you were eyeing Zumfir?" Athos asks and offers what's left of his winnings should Zumfir need a little bit more to get it.

Twinkle basks in the glory of the cheers, raising her arms as if to embrace it. Then she happily joins the others, as always pocketing the money for later.

After the poor showing towards the end there, Gimmond's own waving to the crowd is a bit on the halfhearted side on the way out of the arena. "That I was! Fortunately, they were so adamant in leading with those that it made them a bit more manageable mostly." With a chuckle, Gimmond made his way to the nearest tavern to rest, relax, and review to improve his techniques for the future. 

I'll also throw this out ahead of time if it winds up being applicable for the next match.

Zumfir gets the gold, as he takes a deep breath, "I think . . .with the money i got, i just need 20 more gold to be able to purchase it." He commented.

"Wonder what the next challenge will be."

Athos will give Zumfir 20 gold and then purchase a +1 Battle-axe for himself.  (Took off 520 gold).

OOC: I used the level up to change Athos' weapon mastery from the longsword to the battle-axe since Gimmond is using the war pick.

Zumfir thanks athos, buying the amulet of the devout he wanted. 

The next fight is going to be big. Giant big..... 

Any additional prep you want to do in light of that, let me know. Including if you want to start somewhere other than the western gate you enter from.

Athos will follow the others if they want to change up their starting position.

Just hearing the word "giant" has Gimmond combination of on edge and grumpy at the same time, blinding him from even bothering considering more tactical position in favor of the group's tried and true setup. So after purchasing a spear and making sure to don a shield his raring to go from the moment his back in the arena!
