The grate in the middle opens, and before the lift has time to be raised, a hill giant leaps out and in a couple of large strides, is right up with you. They are large enough that the barrels and crates don't affect them, and he takes two swings of his tree trunk club, one at Gimmond and one at Athos being the two in the front. (Starting off with a big one).
That is a 27to hit Gimmond for 20bludgeoning and a 28on Athos for 26bludgeoning. And you are both prone.
Athos stands up with a grunt and is momentarily grateful for his armor. He will move up to engage the giant. That's a 26 to hit for 12 slashing damage. He'll add in a divine smite on top for an additional 7 radiant damage and spend a channel divinity to make it an inspiring smite (giving himself 6 temporary hit points).
It needs to make a CON save, DC14, or be knocked prone with the Topple Mastery.
(I had the same thoughts. I had to check the wording to see if there was a size restriction but there isn't. A tiny creature could technically topple a gargantuan)
Twinkle whoops as the giant is bowled over by Athos. She then powers up [Elemental Attunement] and rushes up to the giant.
She seeks to exploit the blinded foe, going at it with all she has. Her fists crackle with lightning as she rushes up to melee range and pummels the giant. The monk then retreats as far as her movement will carry her, hopefully out of the reach of the enemy.
Gimmond may be stalwart and stubborn, but there was no changing how deeply the giant's blow shook him. As he looked little better than a newborn foal after first getting to his feet, and struck back no less accurately at that! "No! I ain't done yet!" With a mighty bellow and a surge of strength, he charges forth aiming to catch the giant by the toe. The moment he does he barks back to Zumfir to move it while it was distracted, then maneuvered about Athos to better defend the man. "Don't let up, now!"He goads the party on.
OOC: Unfortunately I'm pretty sure it probably has reach, so didn't need to get within 5ft. So, no Polearm strike for me. Also, all attacks were made at advantage.
Ma: Get up from prone. Ac: One-Handed Spear vs Hill Giant (AC ??) - To Hit: 11 For: - Piercing Damage. (Doubt a 11 hits, but if it would that's 8 piercing damage) Ba: Second Wind to regain 13 Hp. Action Surge* Ac: One-Handed Spear vs Hill Giant (AC ??) - To Hit: 24 For: 8 Piercing Damage. Activating Maneuver Attack Maneuver, dealing an additional 5 piercing damage, and prompted Zumfir to mvoe for free if she wishes to. Ma: Swap places with Athos with Bait and Switch Maneuver, giving Athos +4 to AC.
Sap. If you hit a creature with a Spear, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.

@ToweringInferno: I already accounted for the advantage, and sadly got the 11.

Correct the 11 misses, and the giant has a 10ft reach, so less than Twinkle so she avoids an AoO. His second attack hits and the giant is almost bloodied.
It takes two retaliatory strikes on Gimmond after standing up (first would be at dis from sap, but both are dis from blindness). 17 and a 2 to hit so both miss. And then a 22 con save so blindness ends (but did help out avoid a crit there)
As Gimmond felt more stability in his stance, he struck with more ferocity at the giant, aiming for even the smallest gap in its defenses. But while the more deadly point of the weapon struct true, the same maybe couldn't be said after spinning the weapon about to strike with the butt of the spear.
OOC: I forgot to turn on advantage for my rolls so the log entry looks a little jank. But to explain it, the flat d20 was the advantage roll for the 1st spear attack.
Ac: One-Handed Spear vs Hill Giant (AC ??) - To Hit: 20 For: 7 Piercing Damage. Ba: Polearm Strike vs Hill Giant (AC ??) - To Hit: 12 For: 5 bludgeoning damage (if 12 would hit).

Advantage is over now. It stood up and it's no longer blind
Oh I see now. I temporarily forgot how to read. kek. In that case both of Gimmond's attacks were a miss.

The giant is on deaths door. It swings twice more in desperation at Athos. A 23 and a 9 to hit. The one hit is 21 damage and Athos is prone. (No fudged rolls. Just happened to take Athos to 1hp). Giant is AC13, 12hp. Any of you can finish it off.
Zumfir will stay behind the group, far away from danger, but still close enough to heal should the need arise.
Twinkle will stay right at the entrance of the arena, sure that she would be able to rush to the action in no time.

Con save: 13. It is prone

( i'm trying to picture how a hill giant gets troppled by a lil guy hehe )
Zumfir will cast Blindness/Deafness on the giant. DC 15 CON save or be blinded.

Gimmond would have advantage on his attacks from it being prone.
Well since i can move for free, Zumfir will move out of reach from the giant, if he wasn't before. Thanks

Athos will keep swinging with his battleaxe. With a 16 to hit, for 9 slashing damage and, if that hits, he'll at a divine smite for 9 radiant damage.
Advantage is over now. It stood up and it's no longer blind

Trying to finish this: 2nd level Guiding bolt, 21 to hit, 15 Radiant damage and next attack against it will have advantage.
Twinkle rushes up and channels more lightning, from a safe distance of 15 feet.
[First roll with advantage, thanks to guiding bolt! Unfortunately I'm not blessed with good crit damage rolls.]
Attack 1: 26,
22[Crit], damage: 8 lightningBA Flurry of Blows
Attack 2: 10
Attack 3: 23, damage: 7 lightning
After the attacks, Twinkle retreats 30 feet back.
