Zevriel plants a boot on the rubble and pivots, putting his back to his friends and both Merrow in his arc.
“Come on, then,” he growls through clenched teeth.

The twinblade snaps into a tight spin, steel flashing round his torso— not pretty, but enough to turn jagged teeth and harpoons. He snaps a quick cut toward the newly-arrived brute, but the blade hisses wide in the murk. “Try me,” he taunts, knees bent, sword a circling shield. 

Bonus: Whirl with Dex check 13 for +1 AC (17 total) and a bonus attack that misses with an 8 (was at disadvantage).

Round 2

"With pleasure!" Tattooed Shoulder exclaims, attempting to stab the heroic fighter from top to bottom with the tip of the harpoon, while threatening his neck with the bite.

Tattooed Shoulder's Multiattack:

Round 2

Tattooed Shoulder's harpoon strike is fierce and determined, piercing Zevriel's sturdy defenses, wounding him in the upper chest. Fortunately, the impact partially pushes the hero away, causing him to miss the bite.

Mival then rushes to Zevriel's side to help him, while Rocksaucers advances relentlessly on Skinny Merrow, attempting to pound him with shield blows.

Rocksaucers Slam Attack: 17 Damage: 14 (bludgeoning) - if the target is Large or smaller, it is knocked prone.

The harpoon punches through leather and muscle, driving a hot spike of pain through Zevriel’s side. He snarls, twisting into the thrust instead of away—closing the gap—and rips his twinblade upward in a vicious cross-cut. Zevriel’s breath hisses through clenched teeth, but he plants his feet, twinblade still whirling. “Not… done yet,” he growls, holding the Merrow’s glare even as crimson seeps from the wound.

Reaction: counterattack hits AC 19 (at disadvantage) for 11 slashing damage.
(He's down to 6/37 hit points and will probably withdraw next turn if getting the chance.)

Round 2

While Zevriel's reaction causes the merrow to jump back - and a superficial wound to open on his belly, Rocksaucers proves himself to be a somewhat crude fighter, but powerful and effective. His large, heavy shield hits Skinny Merrow squarely, as he futilely attempts to parry with the harpoon handle. The Merrow collapses to the ground, his face swollen. He's already trying to get up, but it's clear the brutal blow has caused severe trauma.

Now Ardana is up!

Ardana continues moving forward, as fast as she can, but the water slows her progress.  (moves 3 squares to the left at the end of her turn).  She throws another javelin this time at Skinny Merrow (20 to hit, 7 damage), and continues to move forward, intending to close on the remaining Merrow next turn,

Round 2

Skinny Merrow had already almost gotten up when Ardana, advancing with difficulty but also with grim determination, appears with a javelin in hand and hurls it at him. Already worn out from the battle, the monster can do nothing but stare in astonishment as the point hurtles rapidly toward its chest - then pain, blood... and the monster collapses, never to rise again.

Elias, with no more enemies in sight, advances, encouraging the heroes.

Khelbluen, meanwhile, floats effortlessly into the middle of the room and positions himself to hurl another magical bolt at Tattooed Shoulder!

Tattooed Shoulder, aided by his fins, darts nimbly to the side, but some of the electricity still hits him, causing him to grit his teeth in pain. The monster seems to be struggling...

Zevriel grits his teeth, twin-blade spinning up once more (Dex check 18 for +2 AC). Steel sings— this time it carves a shallow groove across the Merrow’s shoulder (hit 19 for 8 slashing). His follow-through catches only water and scales.

Blood from the harpoon wound seeps faster now. Zev back-paddles past Paqen (more difficult terrain on Paqen and on to behind the corner, NE>E), keeping the blade circling between him and the fish-ogre.

“Need a breath… hole’s bad,” he mutters, voice tight with pain. “Mival—step in. I’ll be back soon as I tie this up.”

He lowers the twin-blade to guard height, making space for the shapeshifter to take the front while he clutches the leaking gash.

Round 3

Zevriel's blade damages the skull tattoo on Tattooed Shoulder's shoulder. Enraged, he attempts to impale Khelbluen as he floats, lunging upward with his harpoon—and even tries to bite him in the thigh for good measure.

Round 3

The floating 'court magician', however, simply floats a little higher and a little further away and, with almost mocking ease, causes both attacks to miss.

In response, Khelbluem tries to touch the Merrow's arm with his electrically charged hand.

At the same time, Rocksaucers steps forward, taking Zevriel's place, and begins swinging its shields to strike the ogre-fish.

Mival takes advantage of this, hoping to find a gap in the monster's defenses, which is being attacked from all sides, and attempts to strike it with two slams to the ribs.
