Tomb of Horrors (Desert)

With a determined look on his face Barry will go to town on the wall with the arm after noticing the pinky fall off.

OOC: If it takes more than 3 swings to finish off the hand Barry will end up accidentally raging out of frustration.

Barry just keeps whacking and whacking the arm against the wall until the fist breaks off at the wrist. He then throws the remaining arm down on the ground cracking it at the elbow as well.

"Hey Dell, you figure putting that jeweled choker you picked up earlier on this gargoyle would bring it to life too? We haven't fought anything in a white if you think about it."

 Dell looks at Velkyn with an ironic smirk on his face.

"Why not? At least that might get it to open its remaining hand... and you're right, Barry definitely looks like he could use the exercise."

He starts rummaging into his gear untill he triumphantly pulls out the collar. "Ready?" he asks the remaining members of the team while he edges the necklace closer to the statue's neck, "I better warn you: I'm not standing in front of this thing if it suddenly decides to try and kill us all...!" As if to illustrate his point, the rogue positions himself behind the statue, puts a dagger between his teeth and gets about fastening the collar around the gargoyle's neck, all the while looking at the group questioningly.

Shall we do this, lads ?

Nothing happens

With a slightly confused look Barry will poke himself in the stomach a few times and smile before readying his maul for use again "So I'm going to hit it if it moves?" before moving in front of the gargoyle and readying an attack.

OOC: is what ever is in the gargoyle hand more exposed since a few fingers came off?

It looks like it's more likely there's nothing in its fist.

 Dell sighs exasperatedly as he pockets back the necklace: "Okay, I don't know about y'all, but I've had enough playing around with statues... Shall we see what's beyond that other tunnel then, before Barry here smashes the whole place down ?"

He points at the tunnel he crawled down earlier.

Grexx says, “That sounds good to me.  Come on, Burt”.  Grexx and Burt will make their way to the tunnel.  Grexx will look back to Dell and say, “Have you checked it for traps?”

Barry will hit the statue with his maul a few times before moving on with the group.

Dell puts the collar, the one with the 3 gems on it, back into his bag. and you all head back into the long tunnel.

Dell turns to Grexx and the rest of the group to update them on what he found: "Basically there should be no danger until the end of this passage, which is where I noticed something amiss: there seems to be a movable, hidden cavity there, right on the left inside, see ?", he points at a part of the wall that fades into darkness and seems exactly similar to the rest, "So when we get there I'm gonna find a way to open this thing, and I reckon that's where the first trap could be. At least that's where I'd put it..." he shrugs.

As they get closer to the secret door, the rogue turns to the group to lift his hand in a cautionary gesture: "Maybe y'all hang back and wait until I make sure everything is safe with this... oh, and saying that, Barry, maybe you hold on to this bit here for me...?" 

Dell ties his rope around his waist and hands out the other end to Barry: "Just in case you see me falling into another one of them pits full of spikes, well... don't let me fall in it."

He winks at the dwarf and gets to work.

Checking for traps and opening secret passage

Investigation

Dell determines that there is no traps, and pushes open the trap door.  Inside he sees what is obviously some form of temple area, there are scenes of normal life painted on the walls, but the people have rotting flesh and skeletal hands.  Yet there are also depicted various religious symbols of good alignment.

Grexx steps forward.  "The individual or individuals who once resided here really seem to be a fan of paintings."  Grexx looks down to his snake and says, "Burt, with me".  

The naked druid will walk to the glowing blue altar.  Grexx will try to determine what is causing the altar to glow blue.

Perception:  19

Before touching the solid block Grexx will look down at Burt.  "Burt, if something happens to me protect my companions."  Grexx motions toward Dell, Velkyn, and Barry.

Grexx will then touch himself and cast Resistance

Grexx touches the stone.

OOC:  First time playing caster so if I am not allowed to touch myself just let me know.

Barry will grab onto Grexx's wrist as he turns to go and touch it "On my farm I usually throw stuff at things when I'm not sure what they are, we could do that now. Hopefully it isn't a bear again though."

OOC: At least put some clothes on yourself first before you go on touching yourself

Grexx looks to Barry, "My dear, Barry you are the voice of reason!  Certainly!  Carry on!"  Grexx will take a step back.

Barry will search through his bag for a salted pork ration and take an extra minute to make sure everything inside is in order before putting his bag back onto his back. After Barry takes a quick look around the room he will throw the ration at the blue alter.
