The disappointed halfling moves to the door after failing to find the blade Kazzira had mentioned. 'I guess she was all talk.' He thinks to himself.
Hearing the scurrying from beyond the door, Bees relays the message to the rest of the group. He remembers the racket they caused moments ago and says, "Wait here a moment. I hear some movement beyond the door. Let me go check it out."
He stealthily continues into the corridor to get eyes on the scurrying he heard.
As soon as Kazzira's rapidly aborted flight for freedom is concluded and discussions are done with, Threnody moves south.
She seems to ponder Liatris' words, but keeps her peace. At Bees' direction she holds her position, alert for the renewal of hostilities with people she is certain deserve no quarter, no mercy and only terrible retribution for the unspeakable crimes they have surely committed against the innocent.
Liatris retrieves her manacles, and after considering Kazzira's fallen form one last time, she faintly shakes her head before moving on to rejoin the group. Though at Bees request on scouting further afield at some point along the line, the elf could but only nod and whisper a final "Have a care" before the halfling slipped too far ahead.

There is no need to tell Kaster to wait a moment, he is determined not to move on until the proper words and blessings have been said over the dead and that takes a few moments. The halfling can't help but occasionally side-eye Threnody several times during the prayers but they otherwise allow the issue to drop. At least for now.
(I forgot about Bees looking for the blade. He does find a dagger on Kazzira's body, well-hidden and well-kept. It's very sharp but otherwise ordinary.)
Bees scouts ahead, slipping through the wooden door without a sound, his feet padding silently along the dark corridor. The partially collapsed room to the right is mostly dark, lit only by a single guttering torch on the wall. There are three wooden beams bracing its ceiling. Situated between the beams is a scorched wooden table with a human cadaver resting atop it. A frighteningly thin woman in a black robe is studying the corpse, her face largely hidden under a cowl. Around her feet creep a swarm of skeletal rats. She doesn't appear to have noticed Bees approach.
Bees adds the dagger next to the other two on his belt and moves on to scout. [[OOC: I tip my hat to you Dm]]
Bees watches the frail woman adorned in black flowing robes for a moment, taking in the scene. Another grizzly scene displayed on a scorched table. Bees almost begins to wretch again, but is able to turn his attention away from the cadaver quick enough. However, his attention diverts to the skeletal rats and a new level of discust is acheived by the halfling he didn't know he had prior. The way they chittered and clicked around the woman with an almost... reverence.
His first instinct is to turn to regroup with the others, but something keeps him there. The way the woman was studying the corpse. This was no medical student learning anatomy, no. This was an evil that needed to be cautorized before having the chance to spread.
[[OOC: @DM Questions, how far away is the rest of the group? How far away am I from the woman and the table? Is this a side room and the hallway continues further down? If so, how far?]]
((You're only about 10-15 feet away from the woman, at the beginning of the short hallway. The others are about 50 or so feet back in the previous room. It is a side room and the hallway continues further south. Here's a map update!))
Bees decides to slowly back out of the hallway and report what he found to the rest of the group.
"A creepy old lady is doing God's know what to a corpse in the next room. She has several skeletal rats swarming around her feet. Pretty sure she's an evil necromancer. I suggest we kill her quick before she has a chance to cast any spells."
He then turns to head back down to ambush the old woman in black robes.
Threnody's nod is firm as she follows behind Bees through the tunnel's choking, fetid odour. "A follower of the Lord of Bones, in all likelihood. And it sounds like this hag will be all too happy to add us to her gang of carcasses if we aren't quick about it."
As the stink of decay fills her nostrils and the cadaverous woman in the black robe comes into view, the paladin hangs back a little, praying the halfling can get off a quiet, vital first strike before all hell breaks loose.
Bees returns to the hallway where he'd seen the woman and aims his shortbow at her and looses an arrow. He stays in the main hallway and moves just south of the intersection.
Quickly wrapping up the prayer he was saying over the dead, Kaster rushes after the others so as not to be left behind. "Did he say necromancer?" he asks breathlessly, huffing and puffing to keep his little legs moving and keep up with the quicker tall ones.
Liatris but softly grunted in agreement, and move to follow after the others. Though unless the fetid path promised to slow the group down significantly, she made a point not to follow overly close(at least by 25ft), but to further assure any surprises from Bees wouldn't be undone by careless trundling and shifting of armor. That said, this hadn't stopped her from tersely whispering "Yes" to Kaster, hoping beyond hoping a simply and sharp response might curtail any other questions.

Samosh follows Liatris, the sights and smells bring back less pleasant memories of his past. life.
As mentioned necromancers are bad news and must be put down.
