The cargo is on the move when suddenly Sairn appears, his shimmering Elf skin shining off the sun. He passes by the boy with the scar and nods. "I scouted ahead.. looks clear so far, but its early."The elf sniffs the air. "Where is the Kenku?"Not really asking anyone but he sees the bubbly Tabaxi by the horses.. The night at the barn was stressful but more respect was shared and earned.
"Here." Tool replies to the elf, raising their feathery hand.
They're sitting in the corner of the wagon, reading from their large spell book. Those close to them can hear Tool whispering strange incantations over and over.
Tool then turns to the group. "Let me know if you see any bandits lurking around. With a whisper, I can fatigue their entire body, forcing them to sleep. I can also turn the ground beneath them to mud and grease."
"That is excellent, Tool. Magic has always been beyond me," Stardust of Stone says. "How did your study of it begin?"
He'll also look at the gnome driving the cart. "You've made this trip before? How does it usually go? Have you been robbed? If so, how did the thieves approach? Did they ambush you or pretend to be fellow travelers?" He asks these questions over first one shoulder and then the other, watching the plains and long grass on either side of the road.
"My mast-- Uhm, Someone gifted me this spellbook when I was young. Ever since then, I've been studying magic whenever I had free time." Tool then starts nervously scratching their neck.
"I forgot who gave it to me. It was years ago. No need to ask who it was." Tool quickly blurts out. "Uhm, are we there yet?" Tool asks the gnome, trying to change the subject.
After traveling for a few hours, the rain starts, not heavy, but enough to cover everything with droplets.
"Bah" say Leo, waking up from his reverie, his cloak wet, taking the reins from his sister, "stupid rain".
Cleo hands the reins to her brother and turns to the Tabaxi, "We have made this trip three, no, five times before" she says, counting her fingers. "We have never been attacked, though there was one time when there were some large birds, or possibly small dragons, circling above us for the better part of a day, but in the end, they left us alone."
"Lucky for them" adds Leo.
"Bah" she retorts, "Don't listen to him. He's no more of a fighter then I am. Or skills lie elsewhere. Or they did, until we were caught..." she says, and pause for a moment. "Now we drive the wagon! It's nice to have new faces to talk to!"
[Let me know if you have a different token u want to use, I went with what was in your app or sheet.
Let me know if there is anything specific you would want to do on the march.
Cleo turns towards the back of the wagon, "Not yet ah ..." she seems to pause, unsure how to address you, "... master kenku. But it is almost lunch time!"
Sairn listens to the gnomes, Kenku talk like old pals. He feels unease.. Not sure why, but something feels off.. and not just his natural mistrust. He tugs at his weapons, glancing up at the sky."Kenku, take this serious." He says to the bird like creature..."Something is amiss.. What do they mean caught?" He whispers this to Kenku but then his Elven ears peel back.. "I can hear.... giant birds.... coming" Sairn tightens his grip and runs up to the Tabaxi"Keep your ears open. Could have trouble"He hisses.

"A spellbook? That's a great gift! Very generous." Stardust pulls the hood of his cloak forward, keeping the rain off, then glances at the gnomes and holds his coin purse a little more more tightly. He also looks toward the sky watching for birds or any flying thing.

"Doral," he says, "how about you? Have you made this trip before? How did you find your way to the church?"
"Well then just Tool it is" she says to the Kenku, then listens to the talk about spellbooks. She notices the Tabaxi and Kenku look to the sky, "my apologies, I meant we saw the giant birds on another trip, months ago, not today."
From under his cloak, Leo adds, "Can't see a bloody thing today with this rain."
Out in front, Li is scouting ahead. Other than a few deer, running away off into the distance, the road seems quiet today.
The dragonborn responds to the Tabaxi, without shifting his forward facing gaze.
"I have made this trip several times" he says.
"First time with us!" Cleo adds.
"True" the dragonborn adds. He doesn't elaborate on what brought him to the church.
After several more hours, you take a quick break for lunch, but being how the rain has not let up, no one is too interested in standing still for long.
"Even with the rain, if we keep this pace, we should be able to reach the Forest before dark, perhaps we can camp under the trees to help shield us a bit" Dorai says, lifting his pack and heading off with the wagon.
The elf sniffs the air, not much to be found with the rain. He takes a look around his surroundings; He had been quiet at lunch, surveying, his nerves were high, he had a mission to complete, and not the one he was on with this cargo... "So much noise" He mutters to himself.
Stardust on Stone pulls his cloak and hood tighter around his torso and head. He doesn't like the rain. The mud is slick under his feet, but he tries to keep a watchful eye on the road. "Camping in the forest sounds like a good idea, Doral. The sooner, the better."
After lunch you continue your journey towards Knott. The rain does not relent, and you’re all feeling a bit worn down from the constant dampness.
An hour after lunch, two wagons pass you going in the opposite direction, most likely belonging to a Noble or well to do merchant by the looks of it. Their guards nod at you but have no interest in conversation, no doubt also tired of their rain drenched clothing.
A few more hours and the road rides parallel to the woods. Serendipitously, the rain begins to slow and eventually stops. You camp off the road, on the edge of the trees.
“Tomorrow, we cross the River Ulv, we’ll be in Knott by dinner. First round is on me.” the dragonborn says, a glint of personality leaking out of him. “I’ll take the first watch” he says, looking at the rest of you, assuming you’ll figure out the rest of the night.
[Let me know what you want to do for the night, as far as watch, night vision, etc.

"Dragonborn," as he turns (forgot his name, oh well), I throw a Signal Whistle to him. "Give this to the next person on watch." I then find a spot, 40ft from the campfire, slightly drier to lay down my Bedroll and Blanket.
"Wake me when it's my turn to watch."
[When blown as a Utilize action, a Signal Whistle produces a sound that can be heard up to 600 feet away.]

Sairn hangs back, his anxious nature at night settling in. He doesn't trust the Dragonborn, the gnomes even less.. so he sticks closer to the Kenku and the Tabaxi. Under hooded eyes, he looks up at the night sky. "I will cover the rear by the trees. They may come from behind us." The Monk goes to sit in a mediative pose under a large tree, closing his eyes.
You pass the night, drying out by the fire and taking turns on watch. Li shares his Signal Whistle with everyone, so they can alert everyone at the first sign of trouble. Luckily, the whistle remains quiet throughout the night and you all wake to the smell of some sort of cooking meat, as Leo cooks over the fire and Cleo is busy attaching Cookie and Duke back to the wagon.
You all enjoy a simple, but delicious breakfast and gear up for the second day of the journey, knowing that when you reach Knott you'll get your first payment of 5 gold.
As Leo puts away the last of the breakfast utensils, it is time to go.
The dragonborn Dorai, approaches the group, his look sterner then normal somehow. He points at you all, "What happened on your shifts last night, what did you see? We have a problem. The chest full of coins is missing!"

"Uhm, please don't call me master. Just Tool is fine." Tool replies to Cleo with an uncomfortable smile.
