"Let's rest for a few moments, a few short moments," Stardust says. "The Cat Lord is fickle enough that I won't be able to heal again until after a much longer rest, but," his lips come off his sharp teeth, "I don't like lizards generally and not kobolds specifically."
He'll rest but keep and watchful eye on the other side of the ravine. Perception: 16
Stardust says he is in favor of resting another hour. He has, in all honesty, not been super attentive to the other side of the ravine. Instead, he thinks of lizards and grinds his teeth.
[Let's rest for another an hour until Sairn's healed up.]
As soon as Sairn is awake, Tool will begin tending to him. "Are you okay, Sairn? Some sort of flying kobold dropped a rock on you and knocked you out cold. Stardust on Stone managed to pull you out of the cave." Tool says, gesturing to Stardust.
"You're still heavily wounded. I think it's best if we rest for an hour or so, until Sairn's healed enough, and then decide on our next course of action."
The woozy elf looks up at the worried and stressed Kenku and Tabaxi after a short rest (I rolled on the dice roller on the sheet just cause I was checking and it was easier at the time. I got a 2+2=4 lol.. so im back to 5HP) Sairn checks his person, sitting up, feeling a bandage on his head, the blood seeping through but drying. He shakes his head... "I'll be fine in a bit.. our main concern is the Kobold. I'm not sure we can reason with him.. but its worth a shot. We have to get past." Gingerly, Sairn gets back to his feet, looking over at Tool, then back at Stardust. "You two should lead the way. I'm a little banged up still and angry. That will do us no good."
Taking up the plank, Stardust on Stone slowly extends it across the ravine. Once it is in place, he prepares his bow to attack the kobold, if necessary. "Your plan is a good one, Sairn. I'll go first. If you'd like to talk to the kobold, that's fine Tool, but I am wary of them."
Stardust on Stone begins walking the plank. He tries to watch it and the air where the flying lizard disappeared earlier.
Stardust on Stone puts the plank across the chasm and then starts walking across. About halfway across the beam, you hear scraping, then a quick flap of wings, then silent. It sounds like it is coming from the room ahead, to the right after the entrance. The kobold seemed to have moved, and you heard it. It appears to be in the room still.
"If diplomacy doesn't work, then I can put it to sleep with my magic." Tool whispers to the group. "Then we can take the creature outside and question it for answers. Maybe it knows something about our missing chest."
"Did you hear that? I think the kobold's still here." Tool tries to look ahead but fails due to their lack of darkvision. "Tsk. Stardust on Stone, could you lead the way? Sairn's still wounded and I can't see well in the dark."

Closing his eyes, the Elf focuses and once his eyes open again, they have glow to them, as he utilizes his natural dark vision.. He puts a hand on the Kenku... "Stay calm, Tool.. We are being watched.. but this time, we are not unprepared." Suddenly, an Elven Spear is coiled in the hand of Sairn, he may be wounded but if he gets a shot with the spear, he will take it.
Tool places their hand on Sairn's spear. "Let's try diplomacy first, Sairn. If that doesn't work, I've plans to lull the creature to sleep and then question it outside. Harming the creature will hardly help."
Relaxing his grip on his bow, Stardust on Stone will Ready the Dodge action, triggered by a kobold attack. He crosses the abyss on the plank, watchfully, taking slow quiet steps. "If it can try and hide from us, I can try to hide from it."
Stealth: 19
He plans to Dodge if necessary, but Hide if he can, and attack if diplomacy or the spell don't work out.
Stardust on Stone sneaks to the cracked wall and takes a look.
The natural walls of the cave that you have been traversing have collapsed, revealing an open chamber, of worked stone.
The walls, ceiling, and floor are of a light colored, smooth stone. Though this place appears to be old, it is clean, and the rest of it is intact. Six feet off the ground, there are two small ledges are in corners of the room on the southern wall. Two corridors end abruptly, each at a closed, wooden door.
A winged kobold is standing on one of the ledges, looking towards the collapsed wall. He seems a bit bored currently, looking at a large rock in its hand. He has not seen Stardust on Stone. You are free to make a sneak attack and then we can roll initiative, or you can try talking, etc.
Stardust on Stone will try to wave Tool forward so the Kenku can talk to the Kobold. He tries to do this without revealing his location. He would also like to change his Readied action to a sneak attack if the Kobold attacks Tool. So, after he waves Tool into the room, he nocks an arrow and watches.
With the kobold's location known, Tool pulls out their large spell book and begins walking towards the kobold. Once they're close enough, Tool makes their presence known. "Kobold!" Tool shouts. "We have you surrounded! However, we're not here for a fight. We're looking for our stolen chest. Have you seen anyone enter your cave with a chest, or have you seen any strangers, besides us, enter your cave?"
If the kobold doesn't flee or fight, Tool will pull out their coin pouch and show it to the kobold. "Help us," Tool shakes the coin pouch, causing the coins to jingle, "and I will reward you with coin."
Standing behind the Kenku, The distrusting Elf shakes his head "There are three of us and only one of him.. unless there are others. he seems rather confident, wouldn't you say, Tool?" He whispers this, always ready with his spear.
(I would agree but we have to cross and get by. Maybe we can talk with the kobold?)

So, after an hour, Sairn awakens with 1 HP. You could try and rest for another hour for Sairn to take a short rest and heal up, or something else?

"Turn around and go. This kobold home now." the kobold says, rising off the ledge, rock in hand. "I guard. You leave or I kill you."
His understanding of the common is basic but clear enough.
When Tool jingles the coins, his eyes light up a bit, and he pauses, no doubt thinking of his options here...

"OK not kill you yet. I tell you answers, you give me coin bag, yes?" he says, lifting the rock menacingly. "Have deal?" he says looking at Tool.
