Poppy wakes up after everyone's discussions. "Did I do anything embarrassing before sleeping? I don't remember falling asleep, or what happened before hand..." she trails off as she notices everyone's expressions "Oh, you have been talking about that already weren't you. Looks like we all went though the same. If only I could remember where we were, maybe we were drugged and kidnapped. Well then, I won't get famous stuck here, lets try and find a way out together." And she pulls out her flute, plays a quick tune and it lights up. Poppy holds it out as a torch and waits for someone a bit less squishy to start walking through the open door.
Merry narrows his eyes, the notion of being drugged stirring an uneasy pang of familiarity—he knows all too well how carefully a dose can nudge a person into slumber, yet something about this situation hints at far more arcane origins. He shoots a measured look at his surroundings, mind drifting to that unshakable roar lingering in the corners of his memory. Could it be divine wrath, a force that spared him from utter ruin while it devastated his former companions, or was it simply a powerful sorcery at play here? Either way, he steels himself and quietly steps toward the open doorway—Bernard padding silently behind—willing to trust in Poppy’s glowing flute and his own practiced instincts to guide them past whatever lurks beyond these stone walls. Pressed against one side of the doorway he tries to hide while chancing a look outside their chamber.
Aulderoot inspects the wall with the large stone arch including a look at the floor for tracks and the torches. “We don’t know anything about where we are or how we got here. It would be best to give ourselves a little time perhaps a memory or clue will surface from the depths of this mystery. Let’s thoroughly inspect this room before blindly rushing into the unknown.”

Cyreon peers into the passageway leading away from the large room, aided by Poppy's light. It is a large hall or passage all of stone, plain gray stone walls and a flat ceiling about 30 feet high, and it stretches on in a straight path into further darkness, further than he can see for now. He hears nothing, smells no unusual odor, feels no shift or breeze in the air. There is not much in the way of dirt or dust, and he can see no footsteps.
Aulderoot takes his time to look around and notices much the same of what Cyreon has noticed, with these additions:
The floor is solid flat unadorned stone with no rugs or other interruptions.
The torches appear to be simple enough. Each is set into a simple iron sconce which is affixed to the stone wall with iron bolts. You see nothing unusual about the torches, noting smoke and heat emanating from them, and you would guess that they seem to be recently lit. You count 16 in total in the room, a set of 8, 1 in each corner of the room at a height of 5 feet, then another set of 8 directly above the first set, about 20 feet high. This allows you to gauge the ceiling of this room to be about 40 feet high.
The walls of the octagon are flat stone but you notice a sort of frieze, or a horizontal band of pattern faintly carved into the wall, that appears to wrap all around the room. Following it around, you see that it is of fairly uniform repeating pattern, oddly sinuous and curvy where the room is so angular and precise. But there are interruptions in the pattern when it is equidistant from each corner, at which point there appears to be some kind of what you assume to be ancient writing. The writing appears to be different on each of the 8 walls.
Aulderoot, why don't you make a history check regarding this pattern, see if you can place it with some kind of culture, or if you can make an educated guess as to the nature of this writing.

I was called… what is my name? It continues to elude his memory.
Carrying his quarterstaff casually, Merle starts walking towards the wall, opposite of the one with an archway, planning to start walking the parameter in an attempt to find any secrets the walls may hold.
Perception: 10 looking for traps or anything of note around the floor and tiles as he walks towards the wall.

With the aid of the spell, the strange flowing writing twists around in your mind’s comprehension until you can read it clearly. The words are various cardinal directions. “Northeast”, “North”, “West”, etc. One word for each wall, and apparently in a proper sequence. The presumably East wall has the archway and the passage, rather than a word.

Perception: 10 looking for traps or anything of note around the floor and tiles as he walks towards the wall.
There are no tiles, the floor is unbroken smooth gray stone. Studying it, you do find it odd craftsmanship. How was such a large room made with such a smooth flat unbroken floor of stone? Nothing sinister such as a possible trap is apparent in your investigation.
”These indicate compass direction.” Aulderoot points out the writing on the walls. He pulls paper ink and pen sketching an octagon an opening on the east side…
“Okay, any other insights otherwise I’m ready to move onward. Merle did you notice anything unusual? Oh well I believe that is your name, it just came to mind. I’ve got comprehension for awhile yet let’s see if there is any more text upon the walls beyond.”
Aulderoot will boldly head out unless anyone objects…
The tunnel stretches straight and true for perhaps 200 feet. Your light illuminates the plain gray walls until suddenly those walls fall away and the light is swallowed up by the greater darkness of a large open area ahead. To your senses, all is still and quiet. The way ahead is quite dark.
"Must have been one heck of a stone they cut this floor out of, hate to meet the creature that moved it into place." Merle looks over his shoulder and realized the others have already decided to move on from this room. Well he wasn't one to be left behind, he normally like to learn about his surroundings more before changing scenes but he also didn't want to slow down the teams progress, he knew he wasn't the only one in this strange predicament. Touching the far wall, "tag your it..." He whispers. He pats it a few more times and turns on his heel and starts back towards the others, not in any hurry but not dragging his feet either. He's not in a rush but he was a bit behind now.
You sense nothing in the room before you, just a vague sense of openness. There's no light. With the aid of darkvision, Merry and Aulderoot can see that it is another large room, but not sure of the dimensions from here.
Enter the large dark area. Aulderoot casts bonfire out 60’ or as far into the darkness as he can see. “What has happened to us? Where are we? Who is behind all of it?” Aulderoot looks around for anymore writing.
