Not clear on my part. When the party entered the room the area was a clear but early in the round - read into it what you will - new web suddenly appeared in what had previously been a clear space. To leave the original space and for every grid after that characters need to make a DC 12 Strength check. I assumed - obviously incorrectly - you hadn’t powered up the burning sword as it will mean that every character in the room (T, C & Paul) will be imopacted by burning web - i.e. 2d6 damage.
You needed the original dex roll (DC15) for the new web that suddenly enmeshed the characters and the DC 12 Strengh check is to move forward. If you’re balancing on the webs to fight the Spider or Spider Dragon then its a Strenght check - already made {20 rolled} (see post #256) when Corwyn appears and all attacks should be made at Disadvantage.
Hope that is as clear as mud as they say. Any questions reach out!
(Thanks for the clarification. The sword has been burning for a while now and at the beginning of the battle I even wrote about him readying his flaming greatsword.)
Dex Save for web at beginning of round: 6
Misty step above the spider dragon and attack at disadvantage as webs burn.
Extra rolls for the first three attacks (originally 18, 27, and 22): 161112 take lower number at disadvantage.
[Hopefully the webs around the spider dragon will burn away and we all drop to the ground. If not, Corwyn will action surge and attack some more (presumably still at disadvantage)].
At risk of being a right royal pain if Corwyn were to set fire to the web where he is currently balancing fighting the spider he will collapse down a level
Corwyn takes 7 fire damage as the web around him burns due to his flaming great sword. He then disappears and suddenly appears 20 feet in the air in the web adjacent to the spider. He manages to avoid being caught in the sticky web and swings his flaming sword - which immediately sets the adjacent webs on fire - at the spider. As his weapon hits the spider disappears from sight to appear 30 feet away. As the creature disappears, Corwyn feels himself weakened as if poisoned (DC 15 [Constitution] save required to avoid being poisoned and incapacitated). As the webs he was standing on burn away, Corwyn falls five feet down to the next set of webs (DC 12 [Strength] save required to avoid being restrained.
Two saving throws required: 1) DC 15 [Consitution] to avoid being poisoned and incapacitated 2) DC 12 [Strength] to avoid being restrained
I’ll post shortly with Toruun’s attack and then Paul’s action
Scowling as the spider dragon phases away, Corwyn refrains from swinging at empty space and instead looks around for the part of the rod that he saw earlier suspended in the web near the spider dragon’s original location (Passive Perception 16).

Toruun’s first blast hits the spider Dragon but his second misses.
Corwyn can spot the rod enmeshed in web within touching distance of the Spider Dragon.
Passoveloce says 'Thanks' to Lucas, clicks his boots and heads back into the room with the webs, going through the left door. Having decided upon their plan of attack the various party members get ready!
Pre-action (i.e. Round Zero) 1) Corwyn uses up a Bonus action and fires up his sword {NB: Dealing with web. The flaming sword does sufficient additional damage that if Corwynn is in web-infested grid then the additional damage is exhausted in burning away the web -i.e. it cannot be applied as additional damage to the target that Corwyn is swinging at}. Simultaneously Corwyn also casts Mirror Image and suddenly the space around the party gets crowded as there are now four versions of Corwyn all waving flaming two-handed swords around. 2) Toruun raises his hand and touches an arcane symbol near the centre of his chest [Artificer Infusions]Homunculus Servant[/Artificer Infusions]. The symbol lights up and a small hatch opens up and a small construct flutters out and lands on his shoulder. 3) Lucas sets up the party’s escape abode by casting Leomund’s Tiny Hut, and some sort of forcefield appears around Lucas 4) With a grunt Paul pushes on the double doors and they open. Passoveloce leads Corwyn, Toruun and Paul into the chamber taking up positions in the following grids: Passoveloce – ‘A’ (5-10’ from the door on the north), Corwyn – ‘B’ (5-10’ from the door on the south), Paul – ‘C’ (0-5’ feet on the south – i.e. behind Corwyn) and Torrun – ‘D’ (0-5 feet on the north – i.e. behind Passoveloce. 5) A quick scan of the room shows that it in the party’s immediate vicinity it is 40 feet west to east and roughly 50 feet high. To the north and south it disappears off into the darkness. 6) With the exception of the 10’ x 10’ are the party members are standing in the room is festooned in thick spider webs. 7) Sitting approximately 25’ horizontally and 20’ vertically (35 feet on the diagonal – if I’ve got my Pythagoras theorem right which is not guaranteed by any stretch is the Spider Dragon ‘Ker-arach’. In the grid adjacent to him sits a Giant Spider ‘Xx@^$!’. In the same grid as Ker-arach - thoroughly enmeshed in webs - the party spies (where Corwyn and Passoveloce had both seen it previously was - the section of the [Magic Item]Rod of Seven Parts[/Magic item] the party was looking for.
Round 1. Initiative order: Pasoveloce, Xx@^$!, Ker-arach, Lucas, Corwyn, Torrun, Paul 1.1 Passoveloce snaps off two shots at the Xx@^$! but the webs provide a degree of cover (half cover) and both arrows are caught in the webs and do not reach their target. Passocveloce then ducks back out of the room into the party’s safe zone where he stows his bow and draws his sword. 1.2 Xx@^$! sends two beams of darkness towards Corwyn and Toruun One of the beams hits one of Corwyn’s images doing no damage. The other beam then hits Toruun doing 17 points of acid damage Corwyn, Paul and Toruun then find themselves enmeshed in sticky clinging webs Damage: Toruun – 17 points of acid damage 1.3 A cloud of black dots spew forth from Ker-arach’s mouth in the direction of Corwyn, Paul and Torrun. As the cloud arrives, the party can see that it is comprised of hundreds of tiny black spiders. Torrun’s little servant is overwhelmed by the cloud and collapses to the floor of the chamber unmoving! Damage: Corwyn – 17 points of piercing damage & 16 points of poison damage, Paul - 17 points of piercing damage & 16 points of poison damage, Torrun - 17 points of piercing damage & 16 points of poison damage.
1.4 Lucas casts Haste on Passoveloce as well as telling him that they can do it – Bardic inspiration 1d8 1.5 Corwyn tries to break free of the webs but unable to do so casts Misty Step in order to get close enough to Ker-arach to attack the spider-dragon. When he arrives he manages to avoid becoming caught in the webs and carefully balancing on two strands swings his sword at Ker-arach inflicting in three successful strikes a total of 64 points of damage on Ker-arach. A green flame arcs over towards Xx@^$! inflicting 14 points of damage on the Giant spider. As the flame arcs towards Xx@^$! It suddenly disappears to emerge 30 feet away about 10 feet above Corwyn. Suddenly Corwyn feels weakened as if poisoned but manages to shrug off the effects. Corwyn’s flaming blade burns through the strands he is standing on and he falls five feet down from Ker-arach. Fortunately he manages to avoid being restrained by the webs he has landed on. Damage: Ker-arach – 64 points of flame damage, c – some damage amount unknown. 1.6 Toruun looks at the marks on his armour and the now unmoving construct at his feet and curses Ker-arach in dwarvish before sending two laser like beamsof light at Ker-arach. The first one hits doing 6 points of damage. Damage: Ker-arach – 6 points of damage. 1.7 ‘Hang on laddie’ Paul calls out as he starts muscling his way towards Ker-arach fighting his way through the webs. As he goes, he chops at the webs and then marks Ker-arach with Hunter’s Markas he gets closer to creature. He gets to a distance of 5 feet below and 20 feet away from Ker-arach. He brandishes his great axe Conjure Barrage and suddenly a spectral form flies toward Ker-arach and another towards Xx@^$!. The one flying towards Xx@^$! dodges around Corwyn before pushing Ker-arach and Xx@^$! back a few feet. Damage: Ker-arach - 30 points of force damage, Xx@^$! – 15 points of force damage
Round 2. Initiative order: Pasoveloce, Xx@^$!, Ker-arach, Lucas, Corwyn, Torrun, Paul 2.1 Passoveloce speeds back into the chamber but finds himself within 10 feet thoroughly caught up in the webs unable to move. 2.2 Xx@^$! sends two beams of darkness towards Corwyn and Paul. One of the beams hits one of Corwyn’s doing 23 points of acid damage (nb Corwyn still has two Mirror images in action). The other beam then hits Paul doing 24 points of acid damage Damage: Corwyn – 23 points of acid damage, Paul – 24 points of acid damage 2.3 Ker-arach looks at Passoveloce, Paul and Toruun and opens its maw – a few black spiderlings drizzle out but that is all. Ker-arach then scuttles over to Corwyn and attempts to bite and claw him. The claw attacks miss and Corwyn is able to use his Great sword to fend off (Sap) the creatures bite. 2.4 Lucas – you’re up 2.5 Corwyn – pls feel free to retcon your post #279 or if you wish let it stand.
(OOC: Unfortunately, even with the summary my brain keeps turning it into word soup. And with the nebulous nature of Corwyn's action due to retcon, I'm just gonna go with what's simpler, consequences be damned.)
With his range of vision limited Lucas sighs, then calls out a warning to Passoveloce to not resist before reaching out to the halfling. Time and space disorts for a moment around the halfling before he's teleported back into the dome beside the sorcerer. If Corwynn had been able to retrieve the rod and return with it, he'd take it and start studying it. Otherwise, he'd hold his ground waiting for someone to retrieve and return with it before bodies start falling...
Action: Cast (4th level)Vortex Warp on Passoveloce, teleporting him into the dome, 5ft behind Lucas. Con Save(DC 16) if Passoveloce wants to resist it.
(OOC: To clarify, they altered a few things with Tiny Hut so that spells cast at 4th level or higher can pass through.)
With the attacks focusing on him, Corwyn raises a Shield just in time to deflect the spider’s black beam (AC raises to 23 for a round). Still standing after the spider dragon attacks as well, he considers going for the rod, but with the spider dragon still right next to him, he tries to continue to distract it—any maybe even kill it!
Taking a deep breath (Second Wind), Corwyn continues to slash at the spider dragon with his flaming greatsword!

Damage: Ker-arach - 30 points of force damage, Xx@^$! – 15 points of force damage
Round 2.
Initiative order: Pasoveloce, Xx@^$!, Ker-arach, Lucas, Corwyn, Torrun, Paul
2.1 Passoveloce speeds back into the chamber but finds himself within 10 feet thoroughly caught up in the webs unable to move.
2.2 Xx@^$! sends two beams of darkness towards Corwyn and Paul. One of the beams hits one of Corwyn’s doing 23 points of acid damage (nb Corwyn still has two Mirror images in action). The other beam then hits Paul doing 24 points of acid damage
Damage: Corwyn – 23 points of acid damage, Paul – 24 points of acid damage
2.3 Ker-arach looks at Passoveloce, Paul and Toruun and opens its maw – a few black spiderlings drizzle out but that is all. Ker-arach then scuttles over to Corwyn and attempts to bite and claw him. The claw attacks miss and Corwyn is able to use his Great sword to fend off (Sap) the creatures bite.
2.4 Lucas – you’re up
2.5 Corwyn – pls feel free to retcon your post #279 or if you wish let it stand.
DM - Stopping a god in his tracks
When you realize you're doing too much: Signature.
Corwyn:
With the attacks focusing on him, Corwyn raises a Shield just in time to deflect the spider’s black beam (AC raises to 23 for a round). Still standing after the spider dragon attacks as well, he considers going for the rod, but with the spider dragon still right next to him, he tries to continue to distract it—any maybe even kill it!
Taking a deep breath (Second Wind), Corwyn continues to slash at the spider dragon with his flaming greatsword!
Second Wind: 16 healing
