Passoveloce swoops in and attacks the fish with his sword and his hands. "Sorry I am a little late to the melee Corwyn, hopefully we can finish this quickly." he says.
Reacting with a Shield spell, Corwyn is able to block two of the fish’s attacks but still takes another nasty bite. He retaliates once more, hoping to gut the creature before it can further hurt him!

Passoveloce’s first attack is sufficient to stop the creature; it had a single hit point left!. The party continues to move towards the rocky mass which as they get closer they realise isn’t a planet or an asteroid, but a colossal creature that appears lifeless. Shattered ribs arch over the creature’s mossy spine, and the air crackles with decaying magic. Among the bones is the shipwreck of a large galleon broken into three large chunks: the sterncastle, nestled in the corpse’s hip bones; the starboard section, embedded in the ribcage; and the prow, stabbed into the creature’s heart.
"Well I guess that beast took a lot of ship!" mutters Passoveloce "So do we check for life signs or do we start to look in the ship? I suggest we start with the stern."

Lucas kind of gives Passoveloce a confused look, before chuckling and shaking his head. "Sorry, I forgot this would be ya'lls first -- or at least by and large first time to the Astral. Well fer starts, that, uh, 'beast', as you call it, is actually a 'dead' god. You see'm now and again floating about the plane, so they ain't much in themselves to worry about. In fact, some folk that live here turn them into sprawling cities and other gathering hubs, if'n you can believe." He explained as much, descent slowing a little so he could examine the remains.
"That said, I... Don't recognize this one, and that ain't no repurposed 'space pub'. Which means if there's any survivors, they are in some serious trouble." He then looks to Corwyn with a bit of a grimace on his mug. "Much like yerself, it seems. Hang in there, fer now." Lucas adds with words laced with a bit of magic to help soothe Corwyn's pain. "As for where it could be, I couldn't tell ya. Far as we know, the rod could be within o' dead 'o there. But fer now, we start sterncastle there and make our way up as need be, searching each section, and see if we find any surviving crew members. With any luck, they might even have a decent spot to rest in fer a spell." With that said, Lucas doesn't wait to hash things out further before heading on down to the stern castle.
Lucas is immediately on edge seeing the Githyanki. But despite every instinct screaming at him to signal for the others to attack, and take out the patrol before they knew what hit them, he held his breath and counted to three to calm his nerves. "Stay yer blades, fellas. At least fer now. But be ready. 'Yanki's aren't known fer being hospitable, but even less so with weapons waved in their faces."He whispers a warning to the other party members. The subtle weaving of divination magics then ensures that when the sorcerer called out to the 'yanki, his words would be understood, regardless of any possible language barriers. "Hoii there! Permission to come aboard? Though we are but humble travelers with no ship to call our own, we would render aid, if its aid you wish to have, strangers."
One of two Githyanki look up at Lucas’ hail and say “aye welcome aboard the Lambent Zenith or as we used to call her the good ship Venus! At this the other Githyanki chimes in “aye by Gith you should have seen us!” The first Githgyanki looks directly at the second Githyanki saying in as friendly bantering tone “you blithering idiot. We’re supposed to be serious!” before turning back to they party “and what brings us to this benighted part of the Astral Plane?”
Having committed so much of his attention to watching the Githyanki's every moves, Lucas missed any initial opportunity to answer the halfling. He only finds himself further taken aback by the pair's banter but swiftly recovered and continued the descent to the deck with a friendly smile forced into place. "By all accounts it would be fate and fortune, my good fellows, for our course was one plotted less by personal whims. Nevertheless, we seek something of a curious artifact in the form of a rod of sorts. And, while I would ask if either of you have been fortunate enough to espy such a thing thus far, well-..."Lucas chuckles. "This is hardly the setting for idle chatter, wouldn't you say? So, might you take us to your captain -- or at least, whoever remains to govern your crew? The name is Lucas, for what little it might matter."

The female Githyanki says to Lucas “welcome aboard Lucas. (OOC: I held off in case anyone else wanted to chime in. But seeing as that seems not to be the case...?)
Lucas tries to keep a straight face. But the more friendly the Githyanki appeared to be, the harder it became not to look a touch surprised and even confused. Nevertheless, he keeps at it and eventually says, "Mn. Fair enough. S'pose we could check it out later -- if'n of course we'll have permission to do so. But, uhh, fer now I'd like to know if there are any other survivors? And if so, who's then currently in charge? As I think it'a be best to meet with'em 'fore me and mines get too far ahead of ourselves."

Lysan replies to Lucas’ question “if you go down the companionway over there to the main deck you’ll see a double set of doors. Go through them and then knock on the door at the end. The second mate is in the cabin behind the door.”

Lucas nods in thanks, then quickly turned to the rest of the party and simply says, "Well, shall we? Sooner we get things sorted out, the sooner we might get these folk to some place a bit more hospitable than bum **** nowhere, eh?" With a final flashing of a weak smile, the sorcerer took point in leading the way as directed by the Githyanki; his pace casual and demeanor outwardly relaxed, but the mind remained abuzz over the strangeness of events. It's only halfway to reach their destination that it occurred to him that perhaps more could've been asked about the personality and nature of the first mate, seeing as starting off on the wrong foot might prove more hindrance than easily overlooked incident. But as per the usual, he shook his head and scoffed a little as laziness wins out.

Lucas, Passoveloce and Corwyn make their way below decks and down the passageway. On both sides of the passageway they can see a door and a door at the end.
Whether due to idle curiosity or absentmindedness, the sorcerer might've indulged saw the other door and tried to take a peek without a second thought in the past. Back when all was truly new and novel. But today? He looked at the doors with nothing less than mild annoyance. "Well-"He sighs. "-they did say to knock, so that aughta sort some things out quick enough, 'summin the good first mate is awake."Lucas idly mused before picking up the pace. Upon reaching the doors at the end of the corridor, he at least did his due deligence in looking for a nameplate or the like that might narrow down whichever door the second mate might be behind. But if there's no such luck, then he'd choose one at random and politely rap the back of his knuckles on one of the doors.
