Lucas knocks on the door and hears a voice say “it’s open!”. He enters the room and is immediately assailed by the smell of spices cooking and the sound of something sizzling on a hotplate. A tall Orc women is busy at the stove, she turns and Lucas can see a gold tattoo of a crescent moon surrounds her left eye. “Yes” she says.
Taken aback though he was, Lucas still warily opened the door half-expecting to find the barrel of a smoke powder rifle leveled in his direction, only to instead reel a little in further surprise. "Uhh... Evenin' to ya, Mam. You, uhh... You wouldn't happen to be the second mate, would'ja? Or are they s'pose to be behind this door over yonder?"He thumbs the general direction of the door behind him. "Names Lucas, by the way. Here with a couple of, uhm, friends who happened to be in the neighborhood and figured you guys could use some help... among admittedly other reasons."

Passoveloce looks carefully at the Orc woman, her equipment, her actions and what she is cooking. To be sure that all is as it seems and her attitude is real rather than feigned. (Insight 22)
He additionally scans the room to see if anything is out of the ordinary. Is this a kitchen? Is this an Office? Is this a cabin? Is there a bed, a desk, a chair? What is on the walls - pictures, curtains? Are there weapons around? If so where are they? Is there a chest/box/cupboard? Is there anything else that seems odd? (Perception: 28 - in game log)

The room that Lucas and Passoveloce have entered is quite obviously the galley and pantry. There are a collection of pans hanging from various hooks in the ceiling and along one wall. On another side is what is obviously the stores cupboard. On the bench next to the stove is a knife block with and interesting set of knives and choppers of various sizes. There appears to be no bed or bunk in the room!
Ever the observant one even when he seemed to be anything but, Lucas briefly side-eyes Passoveloce, and in sensing no cause for alarm, allowed himself to breath a small sigh of relief. Then with a smile, he looks again to he Orc woman and says, "Honestly mam, I have half a mind to say that breakfast would be all there is to, 'cause it smells wonderful in here!"He flashes a toothy grin.
"Buuuut, business gotta come first. So, straight to it then. This might be a dumb question, but... is you and your crew good? Or did'ja'll already managed to reach out to someone to help rescue you from this place? And if not, how can we can help? It might take a decent while, but I can reach out to someone that could maybe send a ship by to rescue ya if ya need it. But also... how'ja wind up crashing into a dead god in the first place?"
Kycera says “no first you eat and then we talk!” as she slaps a plate of food down in front of Lucas. She then continues ‘Well let’s start with the last question first, which is I don’t know why we crashed into this benighted piece of rock! As to our safety we are all good!. But as you can see the ship isn’t going anywhere so if you can send a message to a friend that would be of help!”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Corwyn:
Moving up to the entrance of the door, Corwyn nods in appreciation at Lucas’ diplomatic efforts. He does, however, listen closely to the orc for signs of deception as well as look over the food for signs of poison.

Lucas grinned, and without another immediate word, took up a seat (had there been one) and immediately began digging into his food without much hesitation. Even as engrossed as he quickly became in the meal, the very same interest proved fleeting in the wake of Kycera's answer. "Mn! Woof, that's some good stuff you got here! But, uhm, yeah, sure. I can do that in just a second. Uh, one thing though? If everyone is good -- or as good as things can be in a situation like this-" He chuckled. "-uhm... where is your captain, then? Or for that matter, who are they?" He asked.
Regardless of the answer, Lucas does keep his word and with two fingers placed just behind his ear and thumb against throat, his eyes turn into black pools alit only with dim motes like stars as he wove his spell: "Lady Alustriel. Lucas speaking. If you have the means, reach out to Mirt and ask if he could drum up rescue spelljammer. Guide him here." Then in a blink of the eyes, his own are back to normal. "Should get word back soon. But in the meantime Ms. Kycera, we do have a couple other question. One being, uhh.. well... have you or your fellow crewmen come across a strange rod? Or might've been transported one that seemed to have bit of, uhh.. powerful magic imbued in it?"

“Thanks” Kycera says in response to Lucas compliment on the food before continuing “… can’t say I know anything ‘bout a rod as such but we was carrying some sort of powerful item! Fact is the Cap’n asked my help design a system to keep it safe. Mind you, I not seen ‘er, the Cap’n that is, since we crashed!”
"Oof! That's rough. But, if this Cap'n of yours is as tough as nails as the rest of the motley crew me and the boys here have seen so far, they're probably still around somewhere in the wreckage. Just maybe, uhh, trapped or even occupied?" Lucas said, then turned to Corwyn and Passoveloce. "What'cha you two think? Not to get us too sidetracked, but as a matter of acting good faith over would be marauders, couldn't hurt to see if we can find this captain and get their permission to confirm if this cargo is one and the same. And if it ain't, well, not much harm trying."He promptly held up a hand. "BUT, if you two need some time to actually get yerselves bandaged up and fed first, then I'm sure Ms. Kycera wouldn't mind." Lucas assured, but then with a sheepish grin, turned to Kycera and added: "If'n that's alright, mam."
