((I'm doing something right now so will post again in like 3 hours but I have to ask the DM because I am also making a map like on my computer. How many of the side passages did we pass before getting here? I'm assuming those were all on the east/west side.))
“Let’s see what the markings say before we go to the house,” says Leon, suspiciously. If no one stops him he cautiously approach the nearest blocked off passage with writing on it.
Moving closer to Leon so that he isn't alone when approaching the nearest blocked off passage Zinphyra adds, "Also worth considering is if the passages were blocked to guide us somewhere else, like maybe the house, or if it's to prevent us from entering for some reason?"
(ooc: does it look like a natural cave-in, haphazardly piled, or done on purpose to prevent entry?)

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."

"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
"Wow..." Kathleen is impressed by the remnants of ruins and is looking around gawking at all the buildings. She is not really a note-taker; she's only doing that because she got paid for it. So immediately she is intrigued by the lights in that one building. She tries to get close to it and peek inside.

There were twenty-one, though they had no pattern as to which side they were on.

Up close, the writing becomes intelligible, though still sloppily written. In the dancing lights of the building behind you, it clearly says 'Don't Enter'. This one near you looks neatly erected, but the entrances around 15 away from you start being more haphazard/temporary.

Kathleen breaks from the group, going to inspect the irregular building. Once you near it, you can start hearing quiet chatter coming from inside the building. Kathleen tries to peek inside through a window, but a figure (vaguely Dwarvish?) passes by, causing you to duck down. "Was someone there?" is called out from the window, in Common.

Can I get a number on how many of those were on east and how many were west?

"You're new to all this, then? Well, I'd like to welcome you to your first safe haven, Waystop One."
Kathleen messages back as part of the spell, "It's fine. I think everything's alright."
Continuing the conversation with the dwarfs she says, "Oh! That's neat. Is this what Shithreptheniel meant?" She just can't seem to get the pronunciation right. If anything she may be getting further with each attempt.
"No, but you're well on your way to the Shriethenel. There are a few different stops like this. If you exit the far side of this cavern and follow the passageway, you'll eventually reach it. It's just past Waystop Three. Though, things get a lot more dangerous from here. I'd be careful if I were you. You could also come in and get some food and company."
"Thanks! I appreciate the offer and I'll ask my teammates if they want to rest. I didn't realize it was so far away though. What actually is it and what does it mean?" She asks about Shriethenel.
Leon looks around suspiciously. "We've hardly done anything, not sure we're much in need of rest before--" he looks at Kathleen "--we tackle Shrithrineal."

"The Shriethenel's what we call the entrance to the second floor. When the dungeon was first discovered, a small band of dwarves lived around it and called the area that. We don't actually know what it means, though. Most of those dwarves have disappeared or died in the months since we first met 'em."

"Second floor..." Kathleen muses before addressing the party, "Should we turn back and explore one of the passages we left behind? Like I'm all for adventure but I also want to explore the 1st floor before going down there."

You have no idea.

Leon watches from the edge of the flickering fire-light, to see the response to Kathleen’s efforts.
