Dorsar gets a running jump and leaps across.

Since everyone is to eager to jump in the void, Crom cannot stop them. he stays there watching Dorsar searching clues.

He sincerely hopes they make it, then he will tie a rope around his waist and launch the other end of the rope at the first who jumps.

The secret doorway opens into a hallway going left and right. Both options make 90 degree turns after a short distance, so you can't tell what's in either direction. The original hallway you are coming from also continued on further.
