Vaelar is relieved to see his companions join him in the cemetery, and even more so when the ghouls begin to flee and burn before their light. Vaelar himself is careful to stay away from the brightest of the holy radiance in case it sears him as well. He focuses his attention on the ghouls nearest him. Though the glare in his eyes distracts his first strike, the second is more accurate.
Shortsword: 11 to hit (Bardic Inspiration used) Scimitar: 19 to hit. 8 slashing and 1 force damage.
Vaelar attacks the ghoul nearest to him (ghoul 2) now they have thinned them back with turn undead and radiance of dawn, he can swing freely. His first attack slides on the blood pouring down the ghouls neck no damege. His second attack with his scimitar hits the ghoul in the neck and he falls to the floor decapitated.
You are now fighting the ghoul 3 and 4 all effected by turn undead, you may all attack those two only with advantage.
Ghoul 2 and 3 are just at the edge of turn undead (4 rounds of turn undead for them both) and are snarling at Rhianne and Vaelar from a distance.
Ghouls 6,7,8 and 9 pour back over the wall into the graveyard, separating into two groups, (6 and 7) targeting Lorelei and the other (8 and 9) targeting Rhianne.
Beyond the walls in the mist you hear more ghouls calling to each other.
There are no ghouls near her so she aims sacred flame at ghoul 2 for 8 damage. The ghoul crumples screaming before silence. She continues to seal up the graveyard, thurible flashing to and fro as she uses the seal on her longsword against the stone walls and headstones.
The ghost of the dead priest follows behind her pressing his holy symbol of the morning Lord next to her seal.
They just kept coming! Ghouls fell to blade and magic, but there seemed to be an endless supply. They seemed to be spawning from the mist beyond the wall, the defenders of the light stood fast, but there wasn't an endless supply of them....
Perhaps it could look like there were more of us Illmirth thought. He began to sing, moving to stand with Lorelei.
Fill my eyes with that double vision No disguise for that double vision Ooh, when ghouls run to me, it's never fun to me But double vision gets the best of them!
Birds eat their eyes, I got double vision
Dodge those claws with that double vision
Ooh, all I see, are ghouls in front of me
But double vision gets the best of them!
As he nears Lorelei, Illmirth's form begins to waver, shifting and splitting until there are four Illmirths where once there was one. He looks quickly to Lorelei and says, "If my solo act was not to your liking, perhaps a group performance will be more inspiring! The Illmirth quartet then went into a tight twirl, whipping rapidly around. A quick drop and a snap kick to the ankle of the nearest ghoul aimed to take its feet from under it. He finished the spin, rising gracefully into a defensive posture.

“Let him not vow to walk in the dark, who has not seen the nightfall.” — Elrond
Illmirths song makes it appear as though there were many of him, confusing ghoul 6, it stares hungrily at them all trying to see who is who. Who is food.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Lorelei Dawnwarden
The young priestess swings her radiant blade again, and now a sheet of divine cleansing flames shoot out towards the remaining ghouls. "IN THE NAME OF THE DAWNFATHER, BEGONE!"
(Cast Burning Hands, Fire: 15 Dex save 15 for half.)
Lorelei casts burning hands at the two ghouls (6 and 7) in front of her and they screech, trying to put the flames out, before they fell to the floor dead and burning.
Lorelei watches with dismay as ghouls run along the wall trying to find unconsecrated land where they can break into the Cemetery. She watches as Rhianne continues to wake the dead believers ghosts, guardians of the sacred graveyard.
For the first time she comes face to face with the ghostly priest of the Morning Lord. Stay strong sister he whispers in her mind, before he falls in behind Rhianne their holy symbols glowing on the stones they pass touching each grave.
While the chaos erupts outside, a call for aid reaches the Paladins' ears. He suspects the worst, but nonetheless sets out to sweep the chapel. Bits of rubbish and the sallow stench of death chokes the narrow side corridors as he searches.
However the voice seems to echo and wane as he walks, rising to pitch before muffling again. It's near impossible to tell where the call for aid comes from, a most upsetting turn of events.
He hears a boy's cry again Father, please father I'm hungry!
Followed by hammering at a door, it sounds like a mixture of wood and chains, and it leads back into the entrance way. One of the four rooms? A crypt perhaps?
While the others masterfully use their magic to fell the creatures, Vaelar continues to do what he does best: swing his blades like a steel dust devil. They carve through undead flesh, his own features sunken and sallow thanks to the dark power that resides in him.
Meanwhile he searches for signs of the other dark power: Lord Strahd who must be commanding the ghouls.
Shortsword attack: 16 to hit. 7 slashing, 2 force. Scimitar attack: 24 to hit. 7 slashing, 5 force.
As best she can, Crisaryn moves to keep with Illmirth and Lorelei. Once again, she turns to face the ghouls in the graveyard, getting as many as she can within the cone of her fiery breath. (OOC - Round 2/10 for Dragon's Breath. Each target in 15 ft. cone DEX Save DC 14 or take 6 fire damage)
His blade shining still, the old man slowly moves to the forefront of the building. Listening in earnest, he calls out. "Canst thou hear me, child? Call unto me, that I might find thee! Thy salvation hath arrived!" He does not lie, but regardless can't help feeling as if what he calls to is no longer a child pure. It would not be his first experience, to be sure.
Glancing about, he looks for anything out of place.
Vaelar dispatches the last ghoul 3, in the graveyard pressing down on Rhianne, giving her time to clear another pathway. He watches the ghouls outside the wall shudder and turn away from the rising sun whilst still trying to do their masters will. The wall is in disrepair in front of him and he watches as the gap fills with more ghouls.
Strahd has disappeared, full dawn driving him back to the castle.
Crisaryn deters the ghouls climbing into the graveyard (ghouls 10, 11 and 12) her flames burning true and they run around patting at the fire. Ghoul 10 heads for Lorelei, Ghouls 11 and 12 head towards Rhianne.
Murdock looks around the hallway, and the knocking on a door starts again. Father father let me out, I'll be good, I promise
This time he is able to follow the sound into the vile kitchen, the floor and tabletop covered in human remains. The stench here was overbearing. He hears the knocking sound coming from the corner. There was a trapdoor there.
Raven 1 misses and is hit by flailing ghoul 9, it screeches and falls to the ground where the ghoul snatches at it and tears into its flesh. (nat 1 death)
