Lorelei Dawnwarden
The young priestess now emboldened by the momentum fearlessly strides between the tombstones to meet the closest ghoul, swinging her radiant blade again.
The dhampir, with his deadly blades at the ready, waits like a tightly wound coil by Rhianne's side for the ghouls to come to him. Once within arm's reach, he leaps into action, his swords slicing through the undead flesh (ghoul 11). Though his weapons are starting to feel heavy in his hands, he won't let it stop him.
Shortsword: 22 to hit. 10 slashing, 2 force. Scimitar: 23 to hit. 5 slashing, 6 force.
Illmirth's sensitive eyes squint as the glorious sun lifts the darkness from the land, embolding the living even as it steals the hearts of undead. A wide smile shows that the significance of that was not lost on the bard. He had no inspiration left to give, but he himself felt inspired by the shifting in the flow of the battle. He sang his joy, pulling power from the music and the light to bring radiant power to his hand.
Here comes the sun, doo, dun, doo, doo Here comes the sun, and I say goodbye night.
Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, doo, dun, doo, doo Here comes the sun, and I say goodbye night.
As he sang, bits of sunlight seemed to be pulled into his outstretched hand, swirling in a small ball, crackling with radiant energy. On the last note of his song, Illmirth hurled the ball at the ghoul as it approached Lorelei. As it flew, it elongated into a slender bolt, like a javelin of sparkling energy.
***OoC: cast guiding bolt at ghoul 10: attack 13 damage 17 radiant. He then glides his way into melee with ghoul if it doesn't die, silvered dagger in hand***
Illmirth throws his guiding bolt at the nearest ghoul to Lorelei, ghoul 10, for a moment it stands in the radiant light then it burns and falls dead (ghoul 9 is already dead).
There is only one more ghoul actually in the graveyard near Rhianne. There is however a bunch of them trying to get in over the wall just in front of Rhianne and Vaelar.
If you can just hold them back the consecration of the cemetery will be finished. The other ghouls react as if the wall burns them.
Crisaryn's eyes warily scan the walls as it seems even more ghouls are pressing in on the graveyard yet somewhat held at bay. Her focus turns then to the remaining ghoul in the graveyard, and assuming she can get close enough she will close the distance to the creature and then let out another cone of fiery breath.
(OOC - If possible, she will try to catch other ghouls nearby, but focus is to get the one. Round 3/10 for Dragon's Breath. Each target in 15 ft. cone DEX Save DC 14 or take 9 fire damage)
Crisaryn carefully lines up her Dragons Breath, no friendly fire to Vaelar or Rhianne. Ghoul 12 just in front of both of them gets the full brunt of the fire, it screams loud and unearthly, it's arms shrivelled by the fire. It opens its mouth wide and you can see his real weapon, needlesharp teeth. He is looking at Crisaryn with hatred in his eyes.
Ghoul 12 just in front of Vaelar attacks (to hit nat 20), 7 points slashing damage to Vaelar
The ghouls that are left are massing near the broken part of the wall each urging the other onwards, but their commander is gone and they are loathe to fight in daylight.
Rhianne casts sacred flame on ghoul 12 it hits for 5 radiant damage, he falls to the floor dead.
Cover me whilst I finish this! she calls and walks down the final path with the ghostly cleric close behind. The red light from her amulet causes screeches of alarm from the ghouls trying to get in.
Seeing how the ghouls have been told not to harm her she takes advantage and steps into the graveyard gap by the fallen wall. The ghouls hiss and draw back from her, still trying to do Strahds will and staying just out of reach. Ghouls 13 and 14 try to push her away so that they can get in. She thrusts at ghoul 13 with her rapier (nat 20, 6 points of damage).

Lorelei Dawnwarden
Assuming she can move into position for it, the young priestess swings her radiant blade again, making a sheet of divine cleansing flames shoot out towards the remaining ghouls.
(Cast Burning Hands 2nd level, Fire: 14 Dex save 15 for half.)
As a curtain of flames erupts from Lorelei's hands, Vaelar flinches back slightly, the heat even at this distance uncomfortable on his pale, gaunt skin. Once the flames die away, he darts forward to finish off any ghoul that's still moving.
Shortsword: 25 to hit. 7 slashing, 5 force. Scimitar: 19 to hit. 7 slashing, 5 force.
Hearing the dark clad cleric call for some cover Illmirth turns his attention to those ghouls still trying to gain entry. Ne gives Vaelar a quick nod of approval as his blades flash again and again in the glorious dawn's light, silver and crimson flowing in a mesmerizing dance of death. When he gets in position, he reaches once more to the sky. His voice rings out once again, calling the power of radiant flames to descend upon a ghoul near the wall. He seeks out one that looks particularly crispy having already taken damage from Lorelei's fiery magic.

Ghoul 13 cringes away from Lorelei and is then engulfed in flames dying as he tries to stop the flames.
Ghoul 14 cries out save us master ! as Vaelar blades bite deeply into its flesh, its head falls to the ground. dead.
The rest of the ghouls run from the wall to the corner next to the chapel. Rhianne has that area still to consecrate. Her red light has covered 90% of the graveyard, within it are bright blue glowing pendants of Lathander like bright stars.
Ghoul 15 standing away from the wall cries out as the sacred flame tears into it, its skin charring to black. It locks eyes with Illmirth, its hatred showing. It throws itself back at the wall.
There are no ghouls left in the graveyard, they are all outside. The pack seems to be thinning as the morning light strengthens
Rhianne finishes her circuit and the entire graveyard is filled with red light from her medallion. The ghostly cleric pauses with her, then inscribes the morning sigil that all priests of Lathander make each morning if they can, it glows brightly, a radiant sun which spreads its light over the whole graveyard. For a moment the blue and red gave the impression of a purple light.
No ghouls can cross the newly consecrated cemetery. Outside initiative ends.

We need to clear the dead ghouls from the graveyard and burn them. I'd suggest outside to the right. We have some kindling from the desecrated coffins at the front of the chapel, we could do with some more. What's it like inside the chapel?
"This may seem difficult to believe, but the inside is even worse. Hey, now.that things have settled down out here, has anyone seen Murdock?" He looks around in concern. The old paladin was certainly experienced in this sort of undead awfulness, but this land of Barovia seemed a place best traveled with comrades. "I haven't laid eyes on the man since we battled the grotesque remains of the former priest." His eyes shift back to the chapel. "Perhaps we should check in on him, the desecration of a holy place may be affecting him now in some wicked way. Besides, the priest's poor son is locked away somewhere in the building. Maybe he has already located the boy," he says hopefully.
Illmirth headed back to the defiled building to check on Murdock. Before he goes, he says to Rhianne, "Well met, I am Illmirth. I'll be right back to help with the, uh, remains of the remains."

As the party reached the entrance/exit gate from the graveyard, a wrinkled old woman and six men with clubs and long knives stop you.
You came she said looking straight at Rhianne and the ravens on the chapel roof, We're here to help. My boys will carry the coffin to its final resting place in the family Mausoleum. The men moved over to the carriage that Ismark was guarding and gently took the coffin into their arms. The burgomeister will rest in peace.
The wizened old woman nods towards the Chapel, can you do the same in there? What do you need for the cemetery just the ghouls removed and burnt? The others will come to help now the ghouls have been driven off.
We'll need to scrub the chapel clean and remove all tainted material. Rhianne answered. The ghouls are easy to burn but it must be done in sunlight. The more that will help the better. We heard your call Elder Elsa. Things will improve now.
"Greetings of the dawn, I am Lorelei." The young blonde priestess says with a polite bow to Rhianne and Father Aiden. "Illmirth is right though, we should find out how our friend is doing back inside the chapel." She says with urgency in her tone and turns to follow the drow, giving wrinkled old woman woman and her entourage of villagers a polite nod as she passes them, quickly stepping inside the chapel to see how Murdock is doing.
