Marrow inspects Destin's unmoving body with a growing sense of alarm: Medicine 16
Tumal, get over here - please. Is there anything...? He trails off, and turns away, feeding Tumal's Potion of Healing to Casmenos, and Marrow's own potion to Cassyt.
With a groan, Casmenos rolls onto his side for leverage to begin standing up. Scanning around the room, he understands what happened, "I dedicate my life to eradicating undead. That beast of a man wasn't an undead. He hit like a giant. Are we all ok?"
Casmenos responds, "whatever you did to bring me back... I feel I can manage a little but further. But I could really use a good rest." Looking at Destin, Casmenos continues sadly, "Kelemvor has not gifted me the ability to help with that."
Marrow finally collapses in exhaustion and pain; we definitely need some time to take care of our wounds. And... other things too. He then has a thought and looks around.
Is the kobold still there? Would anyone mind checking? Anyone who's bleeding a bit less than me? Marrow tears a bit of his underclothes off and starts cleaning and dressing his wounds.
On the table, Kelvin finds a large number of papers, all addressed to somebody named "Rorreth," many from a "Rath Modar." One in particular charges Rorreth to create undead under Valhingen cemetary and use them to dig a tunnel South and East. There are extensive maps and calculations on other papers, and it appears that they are attempting to dig towards Valjevo Keep. (Anybody here can perform a History check, if they would like.)
The resuscitated Cassyt comes up behind Kelvin and notes "so this is the cause of the undead plague beneath our city. This is what we needed -- this information must be brought to the Doomguide at once."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

"As much as I would like to clear these catacombs of undead, I think it is time we return, recover and take care of our dead or wounded. We can return later to finish the task."
I do not have mapping still, but there are two exits from this room - where you came, and a curtain partially covering another room, where you have not yet gone.
Marrow struggles to pick himself up off the floor, and follows Casmenos to wherever he judges safest. I don't think we can take the risk of moving forward now; anything we found could probably overpower us fairly easily.
You certainly have the ability to take a short rest here if you want; the only two caveats of which you are aware are the bound kobold, and if there is anything behind that curtained area.
Destin, unless he reports back differently that swing was enough to auto-kill, is merely unconscious.
(Yep, Destin's dead again... :-p )

Kelvin looks at the carnage and says, "No... death has had its hand here..." Kelvin looks at the papers that were being looted.

(Is the unconscious kobold still there?)
(The Kobold was left bound in a previous room)

Tumal doesn't say anything, but looks hopeful at Casmenos's words.
Rest now, or head straight back up or out? asks Marrow. Remember the stairs, and the rope? I reckon one bad fall would kill me at the moment.
Casmenos concedes, "Lets find a defensive position and then we can take a short rest before we head out."

Retreat to the room with the door, where we found the trespassers?
"Yes, please, I could use a cat nap."

I doubt we are in any state to survive a battle with what is behind curtain #1. We've been humbled, time to think and come back fresh and ready.
