Cassyt, battered but alive, stands up to address the party. "Thanks to you all, we know who is behind this scourge." She nods sadly at the still form of Destin. "Thanks to him, we survived their dark champion. Even if the architect fled, he left behind for us enough evidence to convince the order of the Thayan plot. We must get this information back to Doomguide Glandon at once. He will see these tunnels cleared, and with what you have gathered, prevail upon the city leaders to oppose Thay itself." She looks down once more.
"I promise you, should the custom of his people allow it, he will find a resting place in the honored halls above."
Marrow looks sadly at Destin's unmoving body, and nods. And thank you, Cassyt; we wouldn't have survived without your aid, I think. He looks to the other survivors of the ill-fated mission: Shall we investigate the next room? Or are we done here?
Looking at Marrow, "The rest has helped, but I am still drained. I can swing my morning star, that's about all. And Cassyt feels the information is vital and needs to be returned to the Doomguide. But I will not leave anyone behind."
Then we go back up. And carry our fallen. Marrow looks a bit glum. I don't know anything about Destin's people. About Destin himself, to be honest. Does anyone know where he was from?
In any case, as the group heads towards the surface, Marrow will lead the way, as he won't be much help carrying the body.
When you are rested up and decide to leave this room, there are several options -- first, the curtain to another room past this one, second, a carved tunnel, which you deduce would be the runnel mentioned in the notes. Back the way you came, there is a turn to the north, which you have not taken, and then a turn to the south, whence you came and where you could trace your steps back to the upper level and to the surface.
(Stealthy is Bastian, I guess. Should one of us take over piloting him permanently?)
(Isn't there still a rope leading up where the stairs collapsed? It wouldn't be elegant, but we could probably get out that way, if we decide to go there.)
There being no answer to his question, Marrow looks again at Destin. We didn't know him at all, did we. Any more than I know any of you, really. Yet here we are. And now we need to get out of here, to complete this mission as best we can. He turns to Cassyt; if we have no way back up the stairs, then we should press on, and see what we can find. There must be a way out somewhere. I assume that these intruders did not all enter the same way we did? Is that possible?
Let's leave Destin here, find the way out, and return to bring him. He's not... in any danger of... he trails off, alarmed by his thought and looks up again at Cassyt. What was done to those others outside, could it be done to him too?
"I don't....think so," Cassyt answers the halfling. "We drove off the architects, after all. I can't be sure, of course, but the sooner we tell Doomguide Glandon the sooner the Order can make sure."
(Agreed. If the kobold is still there, we bring him/her with us.)
You can all take a short rest in this room. If you have a hit die to use, you may do so

I could offer you my healing. We might want to rest for another hour so I can recover enough for my spells afterward.

(I'm full health because we already did take a short rest. I just have no other abilities until I take a long rest.)

The way we came has one major hurdle: Getting back up those stairs that collapsed.
We do know that there is a dumb waiter lift somewhere. I'm guessing the turn to the north? If we can find that lift, we can get out.
I wouldn't mind knowing what's behind that curtain, but I would rather someone stealthy try to go look without brazenly walking into another fight.

(Where's that kobold?)
(Casmenos was holding the rope to let people down. There was no way to tie it down at the top.)
( Ahh, right. Onwards then, in some form. Let's try the curtain first.)

While the others are talking, Tumal moves over to Destin's side and begins going through his things.
