So, a ghost girl downstairs told us there are demons and dankness down south, and she made us promise to stop these things, whatever they are! She then disappeared without even making a tavern recommendation for the trip. Hmph. So we are on a quest and need all sorts of assistance, although we have all demonstrated great courage and ability to get us to this cool looking temple. Oh yeah, thank you for your hospitality but you really should consider whether that dwarf is the person you really want to deal with the public. He is rather grumpy. Usually places chose good looking, happy folks to welcome folks," at which point she does a courtesy and smiles brightly.
He steps back behind more worthy party 'faces', like Rachus, Vakas, Dealuri (obviously!) and, of course, venerable Thanadol, to await their host's response.
"Yes, that. We spoke with Pelgara, she told us that to the south, a demon is being summoned, that we needed to stop us. She gave us a boon, a flower if we should call to her in deepest need. Can you help us, guide us about where we should go?" Vakas sits down, crossing his legs criss cross apple sauce, listening intently.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
((OOC - when Dealuri said "dankness" she was actually trying to say "darkness". That was a typo by my clumsy fingers. Although it would not entirely out of character for her to say dank (which is associated with marijuana). :)
"Indeed, my comrades have summarized what we know so far. Any clarification of this demon or what awaits up towards he south would be greatly appreciated." says Rachus.
The High Seer nods at your words Dealuri. "Yes I too have sensed the trouble brewing in the south, if the koblods are allowed to open the gates to Muspelheim then the realms are in true danger." he smiles, "As for Olak, he has earned his place here amongst us and his rough edges teach us patience and forgiveness, but yes perhaps you are correct. Hospitality is not his calling."
At your words Vakas, the Seer looks at the flower you carry and nods, "A mighty gift indeed, use it wisely." He pauses for a moment before continuing, "While you were occupied in the catacombs below Elvyn has told us of your heroic deeds in the caves of the Kobold slave masters and there can be no doubt that the troubles you faced are connected to the Kobold army that now gathers against us and rumours of this demon menace. It must be stopped and we will aid you."
Rachus you speak your words and the Seer considers a moment before responding, "The Kobolds you have faced, and while in large numbers they are a danger, they pose no real threat to the mortal realm. If truly they have allied with demons the matter changed and we should fear the worst. The demon threat must be stopped if we are to stand any chance of turning the tide of the kobold army. Two tasks I would give you all, firstly we will send you by way of an earth gate deep into the southern wastes, where you must seek the goblin tribes and ask for their aid against the kobold army, and from there you must travel to the dungeon warrens of Khokras Tharn where the kobolds work to raise this greater demon. Find them, stop them and come back to us with the demons head."
He looks at each of you intently, "Speak now and ask for what aid you require and if it is in our power we will provide it. When you are ready Olak will guide you to the earth gate to begin your journey."
Carry back the head of a demon? A good strong bag would be good. A potion of healing or two would be nice. As would anything that protects us, like a robe or ring. And a massage, that would be great. My lower back could use a good rub. Dealuri had learned during her soldier time that rarely do people give such open ended opportunities so she should ask away. And besides, adventuring is tiring work so a massage really would be a nice reward.
Skritch waits politely for his turn to speak with the Seer.
When it is his turn he scampers forward and then sits back on his haunches.
"Esteemed Seer of all that can be sawn," he telepaths to the Seer, "firstly I, er, I think your shining eyes are just, well, it's hard to stop looking at them."
Seeing his reflection reflected back at him in the Seer's eyes, Skritch forgets what he was saying. Does he really look that way, he reflected, when he's doing mindspeak?
"I... I, er... Oh!
"Seer, it must be, I imagine, exhausting to see so very much. I hope you are taking afternoon naps.
"As to overcoming a foul fiend, that sounds thrilling and exactly the kind of the, er, the reason I'm in no hurry to find my way home. There is so much on this plane that is just, well... important! So, er, if you can help with that that would be wonderful. For myself, I know you see before you a Tiny woodland creature, but in battle I can transform into a Huge woodland beast. And then I go 'Grrr! Grrr!' and can also tear out a villain's throat which is terrific and, I think, terrifying. So, if there's anything you can provide that can help me hit harder or get hit less often while in beast form then that would be greatly appreciated.
"Of course, if that's too hard, then anything at all that can help Sunhill be his best self then that also would be nice."
Skritch nods to himself. Then he bows as low as he had when speaking with Pelgara's spirit and backs away. Until he bumps into something.

"Nailed it," Skritch Messages Dealuri.

Thannadol nods along like he knew everything in advance smiling faintly.
"Ahh... Let us go get the ugly head of this demon"
Rachus ponders the new information and glad to have the temple's aid "As my companion have asked any healing potion would be welcomed."
