“Should we ask Dalia to cover any of the cost of a camel? She may not be willing to do so… I agree with carrying extra water. I can chip in 15 gold or so, how much do the rest of you have?” Krakan looks to the rest of them as they are gathering items prior to the trip. “Anything else we will need?”

"Durn, needs fer runnin' back to yon surf. Done forgot somethin' what need'd doin', needin' but a minute."
Salty gives his 15 GP to Krakan to procure a camel for the journey across the sands. When the team is ready to hit the used camel lot he high tails it to the beach. He fills the jar he bought earlier with sea water. The blue haired orc wanted to do right by Daliah and Malik, but he was a bit nervous about moving away from the coast. He figured that taking a bit o' the sea with him is the next best thing to being there. He then scoops up a bit of water and runs it through his hair, shaking his head like a dog. His grooming was complete. He heads back to the team.

Most of my stuff I will share if the need is really urgent."

"I am not gifted in the art of persuasion. All I can offer is blessings from the gods," Samir says, "though, the value of that is dependent upon the ones blessed."
Salty returns as the group just as the used camel salesman is telling them about a real gem; sheltered in a barn, old lady owner only ever rode it to church, excellent water milage for cross desert expeditions, etc. The orc inspects the beast with a critical eye, but with his knowledge of animals that didn't amount to much. Scooting up near Samir he asks quietly, "Can ye magic me up fer bein' friendlier?" He flashes Samir a quick used camel salesman smile of his own; there is no doubt that he needs all the help he can get.
"A fine pile o' beasts ye have," he says to the animal merchant. "Surin' yon humphorse is fit fer her majesty. Bein' but humble wanderers we're fer needin' what carries 'er stuff, not 'er arses. Have ye a pack carryin' humphorse fer 40 gold?" Salty flashes the vendor his best disarming smile,.which turns out to be all tusks and most unsettling to the average person.

Krakan is determined to give it a try, especially when he looks at their gathered wealth, which isn't much. He approaches the Camel Trader and says, "Look, we may not have your usual fee, but we are trying to establish safer trade routes, there have been problems with bandits of late, it is affecting certain trade routes. We are going to look into this... so by solving that, hopefully more will rent your camels for travel, it will increase your business. So please, good sir, give us a camel and feed for a lower price, perhaps say 35 or 40 gold pieces? Indirectly, we are helping you as well..." Krakan gives him his best smile and nods, looking to see the response to his query, crossing his arms and subtly flexing his biceps as he smiles.

The Camel Trader begins shaking his head at Salty only to take a second look at Krakan, "Well if you are helping us merchants, then 40 gp for the camel is fine. For the feed let's say it now costs 3 cp instead of 5. I think that is plenty generous"
Salty is no scholar, but he knows people. He eases back and left, giving Krakan room to do his charismatic work. When the coin has been exchanged he pats Krakan on the back. "Ye speaked da right words, mate 'n kept some coin fer 'er pockets. I'm fer gettin' a bit 'o extra water, den da road fer da farm."

As the team finishes preparations for the journey across the sands, Salty walks near Samir. Anyone that is observant would say that it looks like the blue haired orc ate some bad claims and needed to find a latrine with all haste, but in fact, he was thinking. "I'm fer havin''n idea, not sure fer makin' it work. Ye serve Kelemvor, shepherd 'o da dead. Valkur is a god o' da sea, 'n the sea's fer killin' folk to death all da time. I wonders if yer god and me god 'er fer bein' mates. So's yer magic's fer makin' clean water, but yer needin' ta use yer magic'n power. I'm fer wonderin' if me 'n ye 'er fer magic'n together. Here's me thinkin': Valkur may be fer helpin' make sea water fer his warrior. If ye rituals up some water, maybe I can channel up some o' his divineness 'n save ye da magicin' power. Den Valkur's fer helpin' me get rid o' da salt wit a bit o' prayin'. Are ye fer thinkin' dat could be workin'?"
***OoC: the idea is to save a spell slot by fueling the creation of water with a creative use of a channel divinity (thematically works with a sea god), but it would only make sea water. Salty could then ritual cast purify and our water problem is solved w/o burning a spell slot. A pooling of power if you will, team up for the casting. DM, would that be something we could pull off?***

Lucan chimes in, "Now we're talking with a master merchant." Lucan tries to butter up the merchant, "You balance a good bargain and we appreciate your fairness kind sir. If some of the other merchants were as skilled and balanced as you are the city would do better."
Lucan out of earshot of the merchant, pats a hand on the shoulders of Samir, Salty and Kraken, if they are amiable to it, "Good job my friends. If I had the persuasive skills I'd be there with you."

Krakan smiles at Salty, Samir and Lucan as they walk away. "Well, I'm just glad that he listened to reason. We are hopefully going to fix some bigger problems in this town than mere Malik. I feel that we are on the cusp of something much larger. Well, that and I think he was impressed by the look of my biceps. Sometimes, when I want to be very convincing, I can make my pectoral muscles go bumpity, bumpity, bumpity. Hahahahahaha!" Krakan has a deep hearty laugh and then claps you all on the back, and you feel the Goliath's big hand. There is a spring in his step as he walks toward the camel, unfortunately it is from his pockets being a little lighter.

Filling waterskins and letting the camel drinks its fill before leaving is easily achieved by heading to the Sabat (Water Spring House) Water from qanats (Underground tunnels) slowly pour out into a pool. It is housed in a vaulted domed chamber made of limestone. You see other people coming to gather the water for the day. Outside is a trough with water in it for mounts of all sizess.
The party heads out and you are in the middle of the Bazaar so go ahead and purchase whatever items or mounts you want.
When someone heads to the Camel trader they say it costs 50 gp and that is not including the feed for it. 5 cp for 1 days' worth of feed.
