Ismark leads you all through the streets for a few minutes. The mist still hangs thick and you don't see anyone on the streets. The other people that you see are staring at you through the occasional shuttered window. You come to a weary-looking mansion, that squats behind a rusting iron fence. The iron gates are twisted and torn. The right gate lies cast aside, while the left swings lazily in the wind. The stuttering squeal and clang of the gate repeats with mindless precision. Weeds choke the grounds and press with menace upon the house itself. Yet, against the walls, the growth has been tramped down to create a path all about the domain. Heavy claw markings have stripped the once-beautiful finish of the walls. Great black marks tell of the fires that have assailed the mansion. Not a pane nor a shard of glass stands in any window. All the windows are barred with planks, each one marked with stains of evil omen.

Seeing the state of the house Alexander can tell that evil as visited this home. "It would seem that this house has been through a lot. Can I ask what happened to put it in such a state?" Remembering the feeling he had back where they woke up at, Alexander opens up his divine senses again.

Faron brushes past Vaalu whispering "I'll stay a little longer watching how the others patrons react. Can you mark me a track so I can catch up with you shortly." While there is some hesitation and confusion in her expression, Vaalu stops short of a question, and just nods in the affirmative to Faron. So at just about every turn along the way, she'll quickly chisel arrows in the sides of buildings. She was sure the locals wouldn't mind.
Vaalu just can't help herself. As soon as her eyes fell upon some of the claw marking the walls, the over eager huntress took the wheel. After briskly side-stepping the others, she makes a beeline for the closest mark with the intent to examine it and try getting a sense for what possibly made it. She is both thorough, and yet surprisingly gentle throughout the process. Now and then, she mutters her findings in either common or gaelic [giant].
Whether she succeeds or not, she'll start walking the grounds next if none stop her in an attempt of sussing out the direction the creatures left.
Vaalu - you can see prints all around. Some human, with and without shoes. Some canine. Some almost skeletal. The claw marks on the walls are canine looking as well. You can see several paths heading from the house as if this had happy multiple times.
Alexander - your senses aren't detecting anything evil from Ismark or the house in general
Faron - you stay in the tavern and order another drink. After taking your money you all the Bartender what he knows but he pays no attention to you and continues to wipe his glasses.
Vaalu grows still and quiet at one particular spot. She gives it another once over just to be sure. Afterwards, she returns to the others with just a barely suppressed guttural growl in her throat. "Undead have been here. Lesser ones. But, signs point to them. Canine too. And men barefooted. If I not know better, I would think they are like Elder." She snorts. "But that's silly. Maybe... evil druids?"She trails off hmm'ing in thought, and will kind of just follow along quietly at this point unless people question her further.

Ismark takes you up to the front door of the house and tries to open it, but it's locked. He pounds on the door, "Ireena, its just me. Open the door."
You hear a female voice from inside say, "Who are all these strangers? Why did you bring them here?"
Ismark replies, "They are travelers from outside Barovia, they seek only to be free of Strahd, like us."
The door opens and a striking woman with Auburn hair who bears no resemblance to Ismark motions for you to come in .
The interior of the mansion is well furnished, yet the fixtures show signs of great wear. Noticeable oddities are the boarded-up windows and the presence of holy symbols in every room. There is s man in a side drawing room on the floor — lying in a simple wooden coffin surrounded by wilting flowers.
Brom falls in line behind the group as they head to the mansion. Upon seeing the mansion he admires the bones of the house but feels it needs a swarven touch. "This house has seen better days. Surprised its been able to withstand this long." Upon hearing Vaalu's report Brom's Dwarven combat training kicks in: "Seems to me like they are sending waves up to the perimeter to test its defenses or to wear them down. Maybe stronger fodder with each wave. " Then he adds "At least that be what us dwarves would do.We should be careful anyway, the next one may be soon" Upon entering the mansion Brom sees the striking woman woman with Auburn hair and chuckles to himself while looking at Vaalu then mumbles "Well I know which sibling Vaalu will want to get close too.

"An ill-omen."Vaalu comments on absent-mindlessly. Vaalu probably almost cracks her head the first time she tries stepping inside. However, she brushes aside any embarrassment with little more dull growl. But upon seeing the Auburn haired woman once inside, the growl almost immediately comes to an end. "You are not-"She stops and glances down to Brom. "Sorry. Did you say something, Brom?" She asks, genuinely sounding concerned.
Once the reach the drawing room Vaalu's eyes squints and looks to Ismark. "I know not your custom. But this is no mountain. Why leave dead lying round?"

Faron silently follows into the house, thinking about the damage done to the house. "You might be right there, Brom. It would make sense. Albeit being a rather primitve tactic it's quite effektive." Not realising the underlying insult he continues. "So our opponent either lacks the intellect to come up with an elaborate plan, which seems unlikely given the information about Strahd we have so far. Or he doesn't care enough because time and resources are no concern of his. Or maybe his minions lack the skills for a more complex approach."
Hearing Vaalu complain a slight smile enters Farons features. "Trying to understand human culture, are we? Good luck, mellon, tell me when you did it. Will be interested in it myself but gave up that endeavor decades ago as a futile waste of my time. Maybe I retry in a century"
Ireena turns to Vaalu at her questioning, "Forgive us, that is our father. He passed two days ago, but no one in the village will assist us in taking him to the cemetery. Ismark has inquired around town, but they are all to afraid to come near the house. Strahd and his fowl creatures have assaulted the residence almost every night for weeks now, trying to draw us out."
Ismark adds, "Strahd doesn't seem able to enter the building, but has assaulted the house with his minions over and over. Our father seams to have simply died of fright, his heart couldn't take it any more."
Alexander Wenzel Eusebius Beaumont Lvl 3 | Human | Paladin/Oath of Vengeance

Ireena looks at the lot of you for a moment trying to make up her mind, finally she sighs and says, "Strahd has attacked me on two previous occasions, while I was out running errands in the town.
