Caldrin paused mid-bite, lowering his spoon slowly back into the bowl as his eyes narrowed in thought. “A frog the size of a pig?” he repeated, tone caught somewhere between incredulity and curiosity. He leaned back slightly, folding one hand around his staff as though weighing the image in his mind. “That is either the sort of exaggeration legends thrive on… or a sign that your visitor was no ordinary wanderer.”
He let out a quiet hum, fingers tapping against the wood of his staff. “A familiar perhaps, or a beast twisted by lingering magic from the citadel itself. Either way, a detail worth remembering.” His gaze flicked to the others at the table, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Stranger things than pig-sized frogs have walked this world, after all.”
Turning back to Garon, Caldrin inclined his head politely. “Do you recall anything else about this man? Where he said he was headed, or whether he returned? Travelers with unusual companions tend to leave unusual impressions.”
