THis is just my gamer sense tingling, but we should save the downstairs for last, I think, as usually the most obvious direction is the last you wanna go. There must be something special down the far end hall! That or a dead end. But my point still stands, you always find the treasure by avoiding going where you need to first! But i always post after 20 things have happened, lol so no choice for me!!!!!! :P (manly because last thign I need to do is get caught in a trap alone !
Rajiira has been silent the whole time as she followed, luckily not needing any light herself to see. She would watch as Thrash went into the dining hall after returning from the crypts, and began his way down the stairwell. Looking longingly at the far end, but resigning herself to go downstairs where the rest seemed to be going.
** If Rajiira wants to go the other way that works for Thrash, Just let him know. He is in no rush now that he is not worried about the baby and is all for looting this place from top to bottom.***
Rajiira would shake her head no, following where thrash and OTC were heading. simply saying "You never know is something else might try to possess someone so it's better to stay as a group"
You all make your way down the stairs, which turn and continue downward and turn again and downward still. As you go you hear the chanting is getting louder. Only-The-Cold, you can discern a dozen or so different voices. As you all get farther down you can make out that they're saying, over and over, “He is the Ancient. He is the Land."
You emerge into a large room. With pillars spaced out in the middle. Along the walls are small niches, you can see small items poking out of a few of them.
Ok, I think we should go back up and finish exploring upstairs... Thrash will say to the others over his shoulder. It seems like whoever runs this house of horror is down this way... If the others agree he will walk back upstairs towards the kitchen and will light the way in whichever direction his companions want to go.
Alustine will listen to the chanting, trying to discern if there is any magical power to it. When Thrash mentions retreating back up the stairs, he says,"Don't be daft, Thrash! Never leave a potential enemy behind you! We are here - let us resolve it now. You are a fierce hunter and have found a threat. Let's do what you do best...the other rooms will wait!"
(OOC: Thrash gains bardic inspiration: As a bonus action, a creature within 60 ft. that can hear you gains an inspiration die (1d6). For 10 minutes, the creature can add it to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw. This can be added after seeing the roll, but before knowing the outcome.)
Thrash will flash a very large toothy smile at Alustine. "I like the way you think friend..." Pausing a moment. I only thought it might be wise to see if there are any useful tools that may help us before confronting out enemy. Thrash will look to his companions, "So what will it be? Keep pushing forward and explore anything we may have passed once we see what is down here, or explore first and possibly gear up before facing whatever is down this path?
Dang it Alustine! I want everyone to be happy and trying to give people a chance to pick where we go for a change since Thrash has kind of been pushing through this house a lot and you go and make it super hard. You are telling Thrash everything he wants to hear (And I don't want to waste your inspiration) also, full disclosure... Thrash is over half dead, has no more rages available, no more special hungry bite ability, and currently is the only one providing a light source so is technically unarmed if you don't count his bite since he is holding a torch and shield.
When OTC asks how he is feeling, Thrash will take both of her hands and place them on his face. Once her hands and pressed against the smooth charcoal scales, he will say My face hurts... not here.... or here so much.... before pressing them into the chunky rotting handprints left behind by the specter that cover both of his eyes. but righhht here!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Ew. You know, next time, just tell me, instead of rubbing my hands all over your rotting face! Welp, here goes nothing!"
She places her hands on Thrash's face, mumbling some incantations. Frost forms at the tips of her fingers, and spreads across Thrash's face, filling in the two hand marks. The cold bites at his flesh, but eventually it turns numb, and the pain is gone. The frost melts away, and Thrash realizes that the pain is gone not because his face is entirely numb(Though it is pretty numb right now), but because his injury has been cured. Only-The-Cold pats Thrash on his head and stands up.
Tyriok leans against the wall and thumbs through his spellbook and mutters, "I think we should find out the source of the chanting. Maybe we stumbled upon some sort of ritual?" he looks at OTC and smiles softly, "I am healthy for now. Thank you."
**there's nothing else of interest in the dining hall, but yeah, you can all decide together which way to proceed.
Thrash will slowly take a peak down the hallway to the right, keeping his torch out in front of him to light the way.
Perception check 15
The hallway to the right has a stairway heading down.
Thrash will continue down the stairway
OTC proceeds cautiously, sniffety-clicking first.

**where OTC? down the stairs?
**OTC do you have advantage down here? That is awesome :D CAN YOU SNIFF INTO THE FUTURE?***
(She's sniffety-clicking first, making sure the passage is safe, then heading down slowly.

Tyriok walks up to Rajiira and whispers quietly, "Would you like to go to the far end of the dining hall with me?"
