Magoo tries to use speak with animals to speak with these awakened plants. His knowledge allows him to subtly alter his casting…
”aliens wet the ground with nitrates nourish us, but light burns…”
Magoo picks up conversation but cannot replicate the rustling form of speech. His head begins throbbing but fortunately he ends concentration before it worsens.
“Well, that wasn’t so helpful. And my head feels like I have had one too many ales. Oh well. Hope your stomach does fine!” Gnomes are tough but he decides to let the bigger companions test out new food sources.
“Well I want to try one of these apples. It would be nice to have some fresh food instead of just rations. Let’s refill our water skins and I will Purify the food and water while we are here.” Krakel lays out his shield as makeshift alter for the apples and water skins and performs a quick ritual casting while the others are checking out the plants.
“Now we will have some fresh snacks for the rest of the hike back.” Krakel says before he bites into one of the blue apples.
The apple is surprisingly delicious, (no core) but your lips and mouth are blue after. You gain 4lbs of apples.
“These “apples” are fantastic, I’ve never had a “apple” with no core before! The way they stain my mouth and hands reminds me of the mystical “blue razzleberry” candies my father got me in Neverwinter as a child. They would turn your whole face whatever color the candy was for several minutes.” Krakel reminises. “You know what they say, “An apple a day keeps the necromancer away.”
“Magoo did it just give you a headache or could you tell what the creature said?”
Everyone begins settling in for another long rest. As you decide who sleeps and who’s on watch the daylight suddenly goes out. Off in the distance back within the hills that same roar you heard your first night here again roars out only this time much closer…
Magoo quickly relays what he learned. The group likely stays in the better lit areas and wonders what the aliens are throughout he night. He decides to not eat an apple, even thought everyone looks fine, just in case.

“I believe it might be us who are the Aliens Magoo.” Krakel says as he gets a fire going for the camp. “It seems like the “daylight” may hurt them, or at least not be pleasant to them. But that our waste may benefit them.”
That makes Krakel think….”we should do an experiment and all relieve ourselves in the same area tonight before our rest. Perhaps the plants will react in a positive way. They might even look out for us if they know we can help them and mean no harm.”
(Krakel canonically takes the last watch shift each time unless asked to do otherwise)
The dandylion scrunches up its face. It stands pacing just out of the light spell or firelight radius. It seems to be sizing up the party. “Yes” spoken in delicate sylvan. It stares waiting for a response back.
"Where is my little campestri? Are you myconids? Did you land in the skyship? What is that light you have?"
"If you man the little mushroom thing it's in the stump where we found back that direction" *She points back the way they came*
"We are from another world, we're humanoids. We did come with the sky ship and the light you see is the light of our sun that one of my companions brought with us"

Lyra perks her ears, hoping to get that plants view of the group.

{Does Magoo tell us what the plant told him? It might change how we handle lighting for the long rest.}
Magoo quickly relays what he learned. The group likely stays in the better lit areas and wonders what the aliens are throughout he night. He decides to not eat an apple, even thought everyone looks fine, just in case.
Whomever is on watch about midway through your long rest please make a perception check.
I'll take it.

This is what you see prowling into your camp area...
Tori tries to cast comprehend languages. "Long shot, but do you speak?" She asks the Dandy Lion
The dandylion scrunches up its face. It stands pacing just out of the light spell or firelight radius. It seems to be sizing up the party. “Yes” spoken in delicate sylvan. It stares waiting for a response back.
"What do you need?" Tori asks bluntly while stretching up from her position to her full 7' 5"
