Amidst all the memories of stories of the illithid and what they had done to elves were some personal memories, of all the conflicts Lyra had with her parents when Lyra wanted to study nature instead of magic. The derision of other young high elves asking if she was really a wood elf. But while painful to recall, these memories strengthened her resolve. It would have been so easy to give in and focus on magic instead of nature. But she had faced the criticism and persevered in her convictions. and although it took decades, she eventually convinced her parents and thus became a ranger. She did learn some arcane magic along the way, but was able to make use of that while camping, especially on this strange world.
The memories of her long struggle to be a ranger, and how she did finally win that struggle gave her the strength to fight the illithid in her mind, and not give in to despair.

Tori will use a bonus action to click her heals, activating her boots of speed. Then her and the Cyborg will move to EF31-32 and GH30-31 respectively (The cyborg having to take the Dash action)

"We've got this, don't give up! Stay here and present and we'll bring it down together!" She shouts to her companions
When it is his turn, Magoo moves to K30 and attempts to Hide (stealth 18).
(ooc - Magoo basically cannot jump under 5e rules due to his pitiful STR. I believe he is hiding behind rocks - if so, are they climbable and how tall are they?)
Lyra is too frightened to move closer, it's all she can do to not turn and run. She readies her bow, though the trembling of her arms would make hitting a target difficult. but the mind flayer is out of view around the bend, so she doesn't have any target. But if the mind flayer does come in view, she's try to shoot it. She's try aiding her allies, but all her her spells require her to touch the person she's helping, which would mean getting closer, and she can't quite do that.
{Ready action, shoot mindflayer if it comes in view. Unless the mind flayer approaches, Lyra can't participate in this fight at all, due to the fear effect hitting her before she could see the mind flayer.}
After Magoo told him the situation, Krakel would move forward (M33), pick up a large stone and cast light on it. Then with a last step forward he hurls it into the pool in front of the flayer trying to use the waters refractive qualities to spread the light and illuminate the cavern.
Then you would hear him firmly speak in elvish.(if you understand elvish you hear “ugly duckling”.) This activates the “shield of swans” and he slightly lifts off the ground and flys to the east of the pool.(S24) Taking up a defensive position along the rock face trying to maintain cover.
(Rolled 1d4 in game log and got 3 rounds of flight, 1 used already.)
Everyone moves into position, Magoo the rocks are 10’ high the ceiling is 30’ the Illithid is near the top of the cavern. As Krakel launches his illumination into the pool, a wave of psychic energy surges at him catching Magoo in its field also…
Stunned and 29 psychic damage or just half damage on a save Intelligence DC 15
Krakel flys into a defensive position just as the waves of psionic power fill the chamber. Magoo falls shaking to the cavern floor, while Tori charges into action positioning on either side of the terrible nightmare creature above her.

Fearing for his friends Krakel flys straight towards Magoo and the flayer. With a steady voice you hear Krakel say “By Apollos light rise Magoo!” Casting healing word as he approaches.

Then as Krakel is just about to reach them he swings his Morningstar down on the flayer while casting Truestrike.

She'll then use her enhanced speed to get to FG:22-23 sliding under the floating Mind Flayer.
With a bonus action she'll say. "Just like the tree. One big target" as she deftly slides into an offensive stance behind the aberration.
She'll make her bardic attack first
