Hrain Dex save 9

Lyra and Hrian fall prone while Folzi stays on his feet.

OOC: Need Pat's rolls first and second DEX saves, please!

The cage then falls to the side breaking the hinges and the door flies open as the manticore leaps out.

"Go," the teen shouts pointing the wand at the beast as the manticore opens its wings and begins to charge the party.

The manticore leaps over those prone and Folzi as the beast dodges around the teen holding the wand.

OOC: Everyone roll Dex saves to avoid the wildly swinging tail on the manticore's exit!

Father Pat tries to dodge (1st Dex Save - 11 & 2nd Dex Save 7) the Manticore's tail but ...

Hrain Dex save 12

Pat is also knocked prone by the rough seas and he and Hrian set swiped by the tail taking 6 of piercing damage!

As Father Pat goes down he somehow manages to twist his body in such a way that he gets between Hrain and the Manticore's swinging tail taking the damage meant for Hrain. He looks down at the two spikes embedded in his thigh, plucks them out individually and says "Huh there only scratches I have had worse!" 

(OOC: Father Pat was using his Aura of the Guardian) 

OOC: How can't we tell it can fly... it has big ol' WINGS!

DEX save (waves): 6 (+ additional 3 if Nick is within 10ft of Pat, +2 if within 10ft of Hrain)

DEX save (manticore): 21 (+ additional 3 if Nick is within 10ft of Pat, +2 if within 10ft of Hrain)

"Now that's no way to treat a fellow after he compliments you!" the gnome grouses as he prepares an unpleasant response to the manticore's aggression.

OOC: The pulses doesn't stack, you just get the most potent. As you failed the first but the tail misses you as you roll out of range.

OOC: Right - I listed them both because I don't know if Nicknack is within 10ft of either one.

"Flee," the teen exclaims as the manticore flees up to the mid-deck as screams come and the teen goes racing after the beast wand still held out in front.

"Oh no you don't!" Nicknack shouts at the fleeing manticore. "Not without some answers!" he cries as he hops up and moves next to Folzi. Nicknack casts Dimension Door to teleport up to the mid-deck in front of the fleeing monstrosity, allowing Folzi to accompany him if he wishes.

Father Pat yells out to Nicknack as disappears "I'll be up on deck as soon as I can!" He then starts as best he can to make his way up onto the deck pushing past people if necessary

Hrain jumps up as fast as his plate allows and sets off after the others, with purpose but unwilling to risk hurting anyone.

Thr party rushes up the steps as Nick jumps ahead he only manages to see the manticore and teen rushing up the second set on steps onto the upper deck into the storm. Niska is at the wheel and sees the beast taking flight as the storm continues to rage around the ship.

     "To the poop deck," Folzi would shout before jumping through the arcane door to the next level of the boat.

     "Not so fast, girly... Give me that!" The rogue's magical "appears" next to the girl with the wand - the hand is invisible. It then tugs at the wand trying to relieve it from its owner.

Dex save lol 4; Folzi wins the wand!

Nicknack waves goodbye to the escaping manticore before turning to the teen who came up the steps with it. "Well, that was strangely exciting - do you have any more monstrous surprises pointlessly hiding belowdecks??"

     "Haha!" the gnome exclaims in excitement. Folzi dashes to the main deck and, in a last-ditch effort, waves the wand frantically at the manticore. "Wait, come back!"
