(OOC I think we have a Mexican standoff as Pat won’t back down and his ready action of attacking stands - I.e the minute Evers makes an offensive action it activates. Not sure who goes first but think it is Pat because Evers’ action is to start to attack if Pat won’t lower his sword - which he won’t - thus triggering her action which then triggers his ready action)
“I wouldn’t be to sure of that - the death of us I mean - as I’ve been around the traps a few times. But I’m sorry I can’t lower my sword unless you agree to lower yours first and let these two young-uns sort out their issues themselves!”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Hrain sees another gap in the defences of the paladin as he overcommits with his strike, Hrain lashes out quickly trying keep Turner from getting settled into the fight.
Reaction - Riposte attack 18 minus 2 for 15 damage
Filing to find the gap he surges forward unleashing a torrent of blows against the man.
OOC: Is the stall/cell/cargo hold area lit by windows? Torches? Candles? Something else?

OOC: Ok! Aramalian its all light by magic means and no, there are no windows. The cargo hold of a boat FYI is traditionally under the waterline.
Only one blow strikes true as Turner's laughter fills the cargo hold as will as the grinding sound of Hrian's blows glancing his golden armor. CON save for HM 20
When Pat doesn't yield as commanded having no authority here and disregarding hers, Evers strikes.

OOC: I thought we were in an airship? I didn't want to assume we were just in a flying boat. Are there any visible objects (besides the piece of plank) weighing between 1-5 lbs within 60ft of Nicknack?

OOC: No, sorry to explain better it's literally a ship they've converted for the air. Hence the waterline cargo comment. Think Stardust and the lighting catchers.
As for objects no besides bedrolls and the dislodged board. Y'all have clothing however.
Folzi sticks his head through the opening to the other cell. "Hi, neighbor... Anyways, the only thing I can guarantee you is that I will die trying to get myself and anyone else that wants to try to help themselves out of this situation we find ourselves in. If that ain't good enough for you, I wish you good luck." The gnome retreats back to his cell and once again tries to summon his mage hand and the noise from in the front seems to intensify.

The rogue smiles and gives the hand a light "high-five" before it shimmers out of sight. "Let me give this lock another go," he says to the Nick and Lyra.

“I’m sorry Ma’am that we couldn’t both just stand and watch these two go at it but what will be, will be!” Pat uses his parry (6) to try and reduce the damage from Ever’s attack. At the same time he tries to shake off the impact of her ‘Bane’ (2). Whilst he is unable to parry her blow and takes 6 points of damage he is able to (I think) shake off the impact of the ‘Bane’. He then strikes twice with his long sword Attack: 10 Damage: 10 & Attack: 9 Damage: 8.
He then attacks twice more Attack: 13 Damage: 12 & Attack: 18 Damage: 9
OOC: You don't get to save against Bane again. You failed and it's a lasting effect. There's no reroll at the top of each round. ALL your hits need a d4 subtracted from them.
Evers CON save against the 26. 29 takes 8 dmg.

Pat attempts to parry Ever attacks (battle master ability on reaction) [-1] and successfully deflects 4HP of damage reducing the damage in Post #2444 to 16 HP. He then launches a flurry of blows in response (Fighter ability) of four attacks:
@Hrain his enchanted sword. Each hit that exceeds 20 the sword deals 7 extra slashing damage.
@Pat That's a Monk ability dude. Expending a superiority dice for maneuvers but other than your action surge which you used already you can not make 4 attacks in another turn before a short rest. You'll get another action surge at 17th level. Your first two strike miss. You only get two attacks per round, plus the possibility of 3 more maneuvers since you used parry twice.
@Saute I saw it and assumed you went cast mage hand to try the lock but didn't roll to open it with your thieves tools!
Evers strikes Pat again.
Attack 1: 8 Damage: 5
Attack 2: 18 Damage: 7
"Tell me again about honor" Turner retorts as his blows ring true. "Your own sword betrays you," he adds. "YEILD or DIE," Turner screams frothing at Hrain.
OOC: Holding the attacks below. If Hrain strikes they are triggered.
OOC: If I can see Folzi, please replace that 11 with a 14

(OOC - sorry I meant to call it Action surge. The flurry of blows was just descriptive text. I’ve not used it before. The first lot of four attacks in post #2442 was my readied action to respond to Evers’ action and then my action in the initiative sequence. Post #2449 is the first time I used Action Surge)
