Hrain moves out of the room and into the corridor with Thomas "I am with you, but a touch of caution perhaps? We have been through a lot today, another sorcerer laying in wait for us might overcome us immediately with the right spell, better to have some assistance" He turns and looks back into the room "Haldur, we could use you I think, watch for anything - we do not know if this sorcerer exists, and we do not know if it is hostile if it does but better to be prepared. I say we take the rooms one at a time with all of us ready to enter but not too close, if a spell is cast hopefully at least one of us can avoid it and take down the caster if necessary."

"Perhaps you could use some assitance in case that what you are looking for is just another scared survivor and not a terrible monsters waiting to drink your blood.. "
Haldur immediately turned his attention back to Hrain as the young Captain spoke to him from the corridor, and the mercenary nodded in his usual brusque manner.
"Yes sir, of course. I am with you."
As he moved to join Hrain and Thomas in the hall, the sellsword glanced toward the Elf woman and could not help but be impressed with her offer of assistance. Haldur's gaze momentarily flicked toward her manacles, and though still bound, she seemed unafraid to aid in the search. The warrior gave a nod in her direction as well, "Thank you, m'am. Your courage and your help are most appreciated."
With that Haldur moved to Hrain's side, hefted his halberd in both hands, and put all distractions out of his mind besides the task at hand. A potential danger possibly lurked around some corner or behind some door, and any slight indication of the threat before hand might give the party some much needed advantage against their foe. The mercenary heightened his alertness, sweeping his gaze up and down the corridor's length and listening intently for any sounds that might indicate any other person as yet unaccounted for.
"Good luck then. All i can say is that he is close, real close. Your defenses somehow seem to intervene with these senses though. I'll take your terms and wait here, i unfortunale don't share Lebenhas confidence to be of any help for the moment." With that Lyra lies down on the bed again, feeling a little miserable.
"I am no murderer, if we find someone and they are not hostile you have my word they will not be harmed, if you wish to accompany us I will not forbid it, but I insist you follow my commands. If you cannot accept this do not leave this room." He looks over at the elven caster and her manacles. "I know you would face a very serious risk to your health if you attempted to use powerful magic whilst wearing those, please do not try and do so. I would not have you harm yourself for us."
Ready to move on he pauses "I saw terrible monsters today, people who killed indiscriminately, killed folk of all races and faiths, casters and Shepherds, those people will richly deserve death when it finds them, I hope that many will be by my hand."

Hrain holds the key to every lock in the garrison, one key that's enchanted for the whole fortress that falls inert it's enchantment cancelled out of faithless hands. The hallway is empty, quiet but as Haldur moves slightly towards Thomas and the adjacent door Lyra pointed out they all hear heavy footsteps on the stairs.
"Sir," Peregrine (Lara because I realize how confusing Lara/Cara are now in writing these then in my notes damn you Mercer!!) says nearly breathless, "a message sir," she adds looking at the others warily as she hands him a note scribbled on a bit of parchment.
"My thanks, you are dismissed Peregrine but stop by the infirmary, direct Fred to administer to the patients as she sees fit, she has my permission to access our scrolls and other healing resources if they will be of use, I trust her to use her judgement and her wisdom, before this return to Bhalla and tell her I will be along shortly, first we have to investigate a possible intrusion." Hrain asks as he folds the note over and slips it into his belt pouch. Calling to the casters in the other room, "I offer you all the same choice, work with us here and now, following my orders or remain in the room, the choice is yours, but I will not guarantee that I will make it again."
Turning to the first door he presents the key, making sure the others are ready, including any casters who wish to join.
"Be on your guard, but if they do not present a threat then exercise restraint, I will not have innocent blood stain our hands."
When everyone is positioned he will open the door....

The gnome sighs in resignation. "Well, I'm not going out there unarmed."Folzi snaps at the captain. "I may be in here as a 'caster', but I have other skills that may provide more useful. If you can't remove these," he shakes the manacles again, "do you at least have a spare dagger or shortsword, even a small crossbow?"
Haldur assumes a combat position behind Hrain, halberd held poised and ready in both hands. His breathing is calm, steady, but his body is tensed like a great cat ready to spring upon it's prey.
Opening the door they find a similar set up as next door. Four beds, a wash basin, and arrow slit windows looking down on the courtyard.

Haldur, believing himself to be more of an expendable asset than the Captain, also opted to enter the room behind Thomas. Better that he encounter the threat and take the brunt of the possible ambush rather than the paladin, the clerics, or the bound Casters.
