From the stairs you see the cave opens up a bit more with diverging paths to take. Myrith does not see anything of note. 

Myrith returns to the group. "I suggest we avoid the bats, and the spiders, we don't want too much trouble at once."

Mika comments, "I'd like to destroy the spider eggs before they hatch, but saving the boy takes priority. Lead the way!"
