If Nobody sees it, he calls out for a "Water" to Tab as he follows Ortimay to whatever sizeable table seemed available. Or tables as the case may be, so that they could perhaps push them together. He spares a glance for Mel at least once or twice, but doesn't put all that much effort into it. Instead, he sits down and wait for everyone to have their drink while he tries to keep his eyes glued into his head.
Darn exotic atmosphere and its probably sexy catfolk and humans...
"So, how do you want to do this captain? A fair 50/50 share between our group and yours from the total? Or -- Not that I'm all the good with games of chance, but... a game of chance to determine uneven shares?"

The Thundering Lizard is full of all kinds of different faces from all different races. It's loud and proud, and people sit around tables, playing cards and drinking.
The dwarvish bartender pours up nine ales, and sets them down on the bar. "That'll be 36 copper."
Ortimay notices Gynugri asking around, and walks up to talk to him.
"The merchant prince Wakanga O'Tamu deals in information, lore, and magic items, mostly just potions and scrolls, though. That reminds me! She told me to tell you that she's staying at his villa for the remainder of the time you guys spend here, whatever you're doing."

"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
Gynugri takes one of the ale Tab bought for the group and replies to Captain Ortimay.
"Do you think Syndra's available for today? I'm planning on asking someone who knows more about the local magical artifacts here on Chult since that is connected to our task.
Since both of them are merchants, perhaps she could introduce our group to the merchant prince Wakanga O'Tamu.
I don't want us to blindly enter the jungle without a destination tomorrow."
Gene is just awkwardly sitting there. "Tab, did they have grape juice there? Never mind, I'll go take a look." And he'll go get some kind of a juice to drink and maybe some nuts to eat and some for the table as well. Really uncomfortable in this much of a crowd.
Nobody perked up at the mention of Syndra, but continued to quietly nurse his drink in the corner. Seeing as the subject had changed from deals to magic, he saw no reason to poke the hornets nest that was the former.
"This place is a lot more cramped then you expected. Huh, Gene?"
Nobody asks before lounging casually back in his seat.

Gene says, "Yes, a lot more cramped. Even though I'm from here, I used to mostly keep to the outskirts of the city. Mostly providing areal surveillance and functioning as an early warning for anyone who wanted to travel to the edge of the jungle. I don't have a whole lot of knowledge about deep jungle at all. But yes, this is way more cramped than I expected."
Nobody laughs and tries to casually draw his mug of water to his lips using his tail. It is a clumsy effort that results in him glaring at the thing before snatch the mug in hand and glaring at the offending appendage.
"Oh but it does, my dear Gene. I have not been this thoroughly nervous since...."
A dark look overcomes the tiefling briefly. Then, he is all non-chalant grins and absent-minded air gestures.
"Since a long, long time. But I'm a curious soul, and there's just so many fascinating things about this new lands that frankly make it difficult for me to even begin noticing it half the time."
He admits, then glances over to where Tab went.
"And I have a question in particular that needs answering... But that is neither here, nor there. What is however is your own assessment of guides, as you are a local."

EKU IS A GOOD FRIEND OF THE AARAKOCRA OF CHULT, AND SEEMS TO BE A VERY GOOD JUDGE OF CHARACTER. YOU BELIEVE THAT SHE IS TO BE TRUSTED.
FAROUL AND GONDOLO ARE INCOMPETENT NITWITS. 'NUFF SAID.
HEW HACKINSTONE SEEMS TOO OBSESSED ABOUT THE DRAGON THAT BIT OFF HIS ARM.
YOU NOTICE NOTHING ABOUT MUSHARIB THAT STANDS OUT.
QAWASHA KNOWS A LOT ABOUT THE LOCAL FLORA AND FAUNA. YOU KNOW THIS BECAUSE HE FLAUNTS HIS KNOWLEDGE ALL THE TIME. HIS HATRED FOR THE UNDEAD IS LIKE NOTHING YOU'VE EVER SEEN BEFORE.
RIVER AND FLASK SEEM PRETTY SHIFTY, MEETING CLIENTS IN ONLY THE SHIFTIER PARTS OF PORT NYANZARU.
YOU NOTICE NOTHING ABOUT SALIDA THAT STANDS OUT.
SHAGO IS A STRONG WARRIOR, AND HAS GOOD RELATIONS WITH THE FLAMING FIST.
Nobody is taken aback, and at several times starts and stops raising a finger as if intending and giving up on interjecting on a matter. Finally, he claps his hands together and reaches over to pat Gene on the shoulder.
"That's quite a bit more than expected, to be frank. But I thank you, Gene."
Nobody turned to rub his chin in thought for a few seconds.
"While this Qwasha fellow's insight would certainly be of assistance. I fear now that he is may be a bit on the liable side. And the fact that this Eku woman is on friendly terms your own ilk, Gene, puts her just that higher pedestal in my book. Though given this lot..."
The living shadow of a tiefling looks over to Tab and if visible enough Mel as well before chuckling to himself.
"I'm going to see if there's another bulletin around about side opportunities. Something we can... wet our whistle on, as it were, before we go in deeper."
With that, Nobody will pop out of his seat if there are no objections to look and ask around for potential opportunities.

Tab looks around, and finds a halfling and a human sitting at the bar. They look to be Faroul and Gondolo.
Tab also spots a one-armed dwarf sitting at the bar, who looks similar to the sketch of Hew Hackinstone on the bulletin board.
Another dwarf sits at a table by himself. This one is an albino, and wears armor that looks to be made from the bones of large creatures, even in the inn! He matches the sketch of Musharib.
Two tabaxi sit at a table, conversing. One wears an eyepatch. They look to be River and Flask.
A large Chultan man is boasting loudly about his feats of strength at the bar. He looks like Shago.
Additionally, a drunken human is standing on a table, spouting about his glorious adventures around the world. He doesn't look to be any guide, but he's kind of hard to ignore.
Luckily for you, it seems that you came at about the time of day when everyone is at an inn for a good drink.
Nobody asks around, and a young Chultan tells him that there is a bulletin board in the middle of the market district, right outside of here.
(Asking around for magical items at the Thundering Lizard. Then see about some shopping. And Gene >is< the only Birdman in the group, so... yes.)

Tab will drain his drink and buy another, throwing two silvers up on the bar. "Keep 'em coming, my good man."
He will then saunter over to the card game going on and see how best to get involved.

YOU MEAN SIDE QUESTS, RIGHT? WHERE ARE YOU ASKING?
"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
Tab hovers over the card game. He looks around; are any of the guides advertised actually present in this inn?
ROLL PERCEPTION.
