Just to note, the name above is a pun, but it's sort of kind of possibly 50% or so probably maybe perhaps related to what'll be going on in this campaign. Now, you're asking: what the heck is happening in this campaign? Well, I'll get to that. Just let me, your regular neighborhood goof and cornball, guide you.
Some nitpicky things to get out of the way:
1. This campaign is on the PbP forums. I don't have Discord (yes, I know how that makes me sound when I say it), and I'm just getting that out of the way to deal with the influx of Discord-campaign-searchers around these places. 2. This campaign is going to have times where we're going 50 posts a day, but others where we don't post for a week. Why? Well, I'm sure you all have been in high school (or are in it). It's annoying, and it takes up a lot of time. Plus, I'm not on this thing during breaks. I really have no expectations for how many posts a day or week you have, just maybe try to get a few in/tell me if you won't? I'll hold myself to the same standards and let you know when winter/summer break's coming up. 3. This is a relaxed campaign. If you're looking for a place where the DM'll track everything down to the third decimal place, from your rations to how many gold pieces you have, I'm sorry to say that this isn't your campaign. I really don't care about the super-little details that "make D&D seem like real life". This also means that we'll be (trying) to keep this PG-13-ish, and I'll take you up on anything you don't want to include/face in the campaign (PM me!).
Now (yes, you're groaning in anticipation, I know, but give me a bit longer), some little things I like to do/just the regular character stuff:
1. On the Matter of your Characters: 3rd-level (yay!), rolled (if so, in post)/point buy/standard array. Third-party sources are fine, as long as you tell me, and homebrew is fine (just send it over so I can look it over and give you an answer). In your post, put things like this (just in case this is your first go with PbP):
Name: Class/Species: Stats: (if you want to roll stats) Background (doesn't have to be long, just give me something to work with):
2. Falling! Let's face it, no one (or at least no one I know) likes the falling rules. You drop off and you begin to fall! Just like the real world! But we don't like the real world, do we? So -- if you've ever seen a cartoon before, you've seen them fall -- they stand there for a second or two and then begin to fall. Pretty much, this is how it'll work (unless I rule otherwise) -- when there isn't ground on your feet, you begin the falling process on your next turn. Damage as normal, up to 20d6.
3. OOC. I've tried an OOC thread before, but I can't really remember to check it. If y'all want one, tell me and I'll make one, but for now I'm just going to do OOC in-thread. (OOC:) or *OOC:* work, do it however you want as long as we can tell it's not what your character's saying.
4. Questions? PM me or (if it's applicable to everyone) post it in the thread!
Campaign Backstory/Intro (and I'll get around to posting some info about the general world when my fingers hurt less -- probably tomorrow/next week, but also feel free to make up some places and "shape your world!"):
The small boat rocks shakily in the choppy waters, drawing ever closer to its destination in the early hours of the morning. The loud, hurried cries of the captain, shouting from the sea-struck prow to the shiphands, are intermingled with the loud whine of a baby deeper in the hold, creating a discordant cacophony that overwhelms the mind. A storm is drawing into the bay, and the ship rushes to reach its destination before the sea rises against it.
Your journey has been long, your suffering hard. You've survived these two weeks on this small, cramped boat nearly without food and sleep, and are very much ready to get off of it. You departed the port city of Xha'lin, the pinnacle of the Páo-Xiào Empire, for this rapidly approaching destination -- perched atop a rocky, plant-bare cliff, its stones holding more oysters and barnacles than you can count, a cluster of a few small buildings stands, as if they were huddling -- hiding -- from the cold.
The ship jerks again, and these thoughts are driven out of your mind as the wind pulls the boat farther away from the shore. You hear the curses of multiple of the crew, all encased in that heavy brogue that seems to come with work on the sea.
It takes another hour, the storm-clouds drawing ever closer, until the ship makes it to shore, its beams straining and mast creaking as it gently slides up next to a long, lonely dock, its wood ravaged by the waters. The captain, to everyone's surprise, is the first to leave the ship, running out and joyfully kissing the wood of the dock. The rest of you follow, pushing and shoving each other as they try to make it to a small set of ancient-looking stone stairs, crookedly set into the rock.
You are among this crowd -- a new arrival to this place, a stranger in this land, perhaps. Now, who are you? Why are you here? What are you doing? Let your names and stories fly off your tongue, ss the world hears of those who could save it -- or destroy it
World (anything else you might want to know, PM me):
The world of Tai-elen is a world of adventure, a world of mystery, and a world of possibility. From the darkest depths below the cities of Ixa'lyn to the heights of the flying city of Vaimor, there's always an adventure to be found.
The four islands of Ixa'lyn, Páo-Xiào, Madilo, and J'Terra hold many people from all heights, sizes, and species. From halflings to goliaths, there's always something new to see.
Ixa'lyn, your destination, is a large island, the largest of the four, holding the Iteryn Empire. To the north resides a long series of tall, gray mountains and pine forests, along with the capital, the great metropolis of Ameria. To the south lie a series of humid plains and swamps, holding numerous villages. You've arrived at a long, rocky peninsula holding the village of Myr.
Páo-Xiào is a temperate southern island across the sea from Ixa'lyn, holding the Páo-Xiào Empire. Covered in plains surrounded by a ring of mountains, its people are known for advanced technologies.
Madilo is a mainly elven country, a small island surrounded by a few others, all covered in forests with trees that reach up to hundreds of feet.
Finally, J'Terra is a bustling metropolis-island, its hundred miles of city bursting with people and culture.
Currently, the islands are at peace -- as they have been for a hundred years, following the Great War. Some fear tensions may erupt, but others mock them and say it'll stay like this.
There is a universal pantheon of gods, although others are accepted in different places:
Coria, the Creator -- the creator goddess, who came from another world to shape this one in its image. Imana, the God of Life -- first to be created by Coria, this god not only celebrates creation but also new life and the world's cycle. Mix, the Goddess of Emotion -- her twelve forms, being the individual "her" while different beings at the same time, allow for an interesting religion. She is emotion incarnate, what shapes humans and drives them. Unlike other gods, she is usually interested in the petty affairs of humans. Trath, God of Nature -- he resides in all the wilds, his essence suffusing them. He is no longer a "god" in the sense that he's a person, but he is what keeps the natural world alive. Vrax, God of War -- the violent clashing of swords and spears is what draws the attention of this god, who is the representation of violence. Aiska, Goddess of Chance/Fate -- this mysterious goddess spins the fates, deciding what happens to each and every mortal. She'll be the only one standing when the world comes to an end.
Each of these gods has different forms -- for example, a cleric of the sea could worship Trath.
Really excited to meet you all (and to see those I know)! See you all (and your characters) soon!

Backstory: his village was destroyed with flood and he is looking for occupation that doesn't require you to stay in a place may fall to nature. And since he was good at keeping livestock from wolves this occupation will involve violence.
backstory: Crumb is from the northern cold lands, born in a work camp for gnomes ran by (DM pick militant/faction). At the age of 60 crumb and a handful of other gnomes made an escape from the camp to start life a new. 10 years have passed, Although wishing he could return to help other gnomes, Crumb stays out of main public eye not wanting to attract the attention of his former captors until the day he can find the means to return to the north and help the ones he could not before.
Tine was born in the harbor district of Xha’lin, where the smell of salt and ale filled the air and sailors’ songs drifted out of every doorway. Her elven father, left before after her birth.
Her mother, Mara Dancer, was a barmaid and storyteller in her own right, a woman with a voice that could hush a room or start a brawl, depending on the tale. As Tine grew, she’d fall asleep behind the counter listening to sailors boast of ghost ships, pirates cursed by sirens, and storms that sang to the dead. Those stories became her schooling.
When old enough Tine set out to chase the kind of legends she’d grown up hearing. She played on street corners, in seedy inns, and on ship decks bound for forgotten coasts, wherever there were ears to listen and hearts to stir.
Now, she finds herself aboard a weather-worn vessel bound for a lonely cliffside settlement, where rumor says the wind itself hums a tune no living bard can play. To most, it’s superstition, but to Tine, it sounds like a story waiting to be told.

Hello, all!
Name: Tine Dancer
Class/Race: Bard / Half-Elf
