Seeing how heavily injured one of the orcs was, but not wanting to leap into all of them at once, Pettilaen instead uttered a few arcane words, conjuring raw, magical energy and unleashed it at two of orcs, killing one of them with one and slamming the other two into another orc. He maintained the pace of the group, staying in line with the rest of them.
OOC: Magic Missile for 5 force damage to the dead orc and 10 force damage to another orc.
Portia is not putting up with this nonsense. First, she quickly casts spiritual weapon making it look like a warhammer and has it hit the one still standing that Pettilaen's magic missiles had just hit. The hammer hits quite solidly into the orc. Then she casts sacred flame at the next orc, but he seems to be a contortionist and easily avoids it.
(Meta: Orc hit by Petti's missiles takes another 11HP.)
Kanon moves closer to the orcs, pulling a small bit of mica from his pouch as he does. His gestures, a mix of memorized techniques from his study in Candlekeep with Zina, were a combination of dramatic flair and arcane symbols. A small ringing can be heard, the sound deafening to those in the area he targeted. As his hand moves, the ringing's pitch changes, until the orcs are bleeding from their ears. Two orcs scream as blood begins pouring from their orifices and they fall to the ground. Satisfied, he raises his rapier, ready for the onslaught of the survivors.
(Move 20, cast Shatter 15 damage, DC 13 CON save for half)
The orcs howl and charge forward at full speed as Kanon creates an obnoxiously loud ringing sound that sounds a lot like:
"Look at this photograph, every time I do it makes me laugh..."
Two orcs die from Nickelback-induced acute cerebral hemorrhages, but the remaining 8 crash into Argonox and Mara, chopping ferociously with their greataxes. Mara deftly defends with her shield, blocking one blow that would have surely killed her, but is overwhelmed by the number of incoming blows and, despite her best efforts, takes a nasty chop to the back.
(META: Orcs close the final 30' to the party's vanguard, 4 attack Argo with one hit [9 damage], 4 attack Mara with one hit [Disadvantage, 8 damage].)
Zina slipped off the horse and cast Ray of Frost at the nearest orc. It went singing by his ear, but unfortunately didn't connect. The illusionist waved one hand and slammed the already summoned Flaming Sphere into another orc. At least that attempt dealt some damage.
Argonox shouted to Mara as he swung from his horse amongst the orcs, lacing the words with divine power to bolster Mara's confidence and her defenses. After slapping his horse on the flank to send it in a retreat from the battle, he turned to shove his full weight into an orc, knocking it off balance. As it reeled, he followed with his new Hellrider blade, running the creature through like a straw target, then kicked the foul, dead thing off with his foot and positioned his shield in defense against the retributive strikes he knew were soon to follow.
(META:Shield of Faith on Mara, then 16 to hit an injured orc for 11 damage. Dead, dead, dead.)
Pettilaen braced for impact against the orcs... until they completely disregarded him, swarming on Mara and Argonox. Huh. Perks to being small? It still pissed him off that his people weren't recognized as a threat, but he used it as an advantage, using his low position, he called for Gaia to distract one of the orcs [Help], then ran his -now flaming- rapier [Green-Flame Blade] up the orc's arse as deep as it would go, causing fire to spew from the orcs mouth towards the nearest orc, dropping the original orc to the ground, dead.
Satisfied with the result, he disengaged, retreating 15 feet west, looking for another opportunity to strike.
OOC: Sneak attack on a 23 for 15 piercing damage, causing 3 fire damage to an orc next to it, then disengaging and moving 15 feet west towards the gap.
Portia was still behind the melee some to the east. She moved the spiritual weapon, but since it had to go more than twenty feet to catch up to the orcs that surged the thirty feet to get into melee, a hit was not possible. She would keep it for next round.
She could try another attack, but decided to use her divine powers to send healing to Mara and Argonox to preserve their lives. She split the power evenly between them.

Kanon moves forward cautiously, seeing Mara surrounded by orcs. At the last moment he thrusts forward with his rapier, stabbing an orc in the shoulder from behind. "Ha, ha!" He yells, a grin on his face when the rapier sinks into the creature's flesh.
Mara managed to dodge out of the way of one attack, but felt a searing pain across her back. She swore to herself, and swung her sword at the one who hit her. She managed to hit him, but the attack wasn't well aimed, and did very little damage. Frustrated, she tried to shove the orc with her shield, but the orc dodged out of the way.
Their numbers reduced by half and their confidence shaken, the orcs fight for their lives, rabidly hacking and slicing at the warriors before them. Argonox wards away the blows aimed at him, and Mara is successful in defending against all but one. She takes a vicious slash across her neck , which begins to bleed profusely.
(META: Misses on Argo, a 24 to hit Mara for 14 damage.)

Zina blasted one of the orcs with another ray of frost, this time striking true. As the frost began to creep up his arm, she slammed the Flaming Sphere into him. The fire burned across his other side, and the orc let out a horrible scream before falling to the ground. "Who's next, you fat lot of cowards?" She shouted.
(OOC: 23 to hit and 8 damage on the RoF, 8 damage on FS)
Moving back into the thick of battle [15 feet], Pettilaen quietly enjoyed the lack of attention. He was able to flow in and out of the fighting with ease and no risk to himself: though at even greater risk to the orcs. Calling for Gaia to provide him aid [Help], his rapier alit with flame as he uttered the necessary invocation, thrusting it through the thoracic cavity of an orc [13 damage], the tip protruding out the other side and flames leaping from the tip to the orc which Argonox had so heavily wounded [3 fire damage]. Satisfied, he pulled the rapier out and moved away [Disengage, 10 feet].
Portia decided this round was time to attack due to the dwindling number of orcs despite the damage Mara took again. The poor woman was turning into the party's meat shield, but she had the guts to do so no matter the odds. She smiled at that thought as she finished moving the spiritual hammer so it could hit again, only have ten more feet to move it this time.
The spiritual hammer winds up and slams into the head of the orc Pettilaen had just skewered with his rapier. (7 damage). Hopefully that more than rang his bell.
"May Lathander's light pierce your darkened soul!" She finishes up her yell with further incantation to send her guiding bolt into one of the undamaged orcs. She watches it miss and yells, "Take that as a warning shot to give up now!"
(spiritual weapon to hit was 21, guiding bolt to hit was only 11)

Kanon continues his onslaught of rapier thrusts on the Orc in front of him. Stabbing ruthlessly toward it. Many are deflected by its armor and dodges, but he thinks one might have found flesh! "We've almost broken through!" He yells to the group.
Mara snarled at the orc that attacked her. She could feel her blood, hot and sticky, running down her neck. Drawing on hidden reserves of energy, she pushed on. She drove her sword into the orc that attacked her, feeling the satisfying bite into flesh. She enjoyed it so much, she struck again, splashing blood everywhere. Withdrawing her sword, the orc fell limp to the ground. "Who's next," she growled at the remaining orcs surrounding her.

"Zina," he says while retrieving a javelin to throw. "You'll not want to be where I'm going next. Good luck!"
With that, he looses the javelin and strikes an orc in the thigh.
